We had my sister hens party here last weekend and it was the absolute best! We had a 2 course lunch followed by a flower crown workshop. The lunch was incredibly yum and catered for all the dietary requirements of the large group, every single person was impressed and had full bellies! Thanks so much for having us! Thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Falls Retreat last night, awesome food and a friendly, helpful waitress who made us feel nothing was a problem or bother. My pork was absolutely melt in your mouth and loved the citrus cheesecake dessert. Great ambience and a roaring fire made winter dining an absolute delight. Looking forward to returning in the summertime and dining outdoors.
We were thoroughly impressed with the warm enthusiastic welcome we received on arrival followed by a wonderful delicious 4 coarse set menu Christmas Festive dinner. The service was fantastic from very friendly wait staff. Highly recommended.
The well established grounds and majestic Cedars leading to views of the spectacular waterfalls makes for a very peaceful, tranquil setting
Absolutely loved our experience here! A beautiful, romantic hideaway. I love the message of getting offline in every sense and enjoying the comfort and coziness of the property and food. Absolutely loved the food, from our lovingly prepared continental breakfast basket to the long table feast- highly recommend! Warm, welcoming customer service. The only complaint I would make is that the room (Rose cottage) had a bit of a funky smell (can't place what it was) when we arrived but soon got used to it. Other than that, could not fault our experience! Thank you :)
Falls Retreat opened the restaurant for our group after our team building at the Battery Site. The restaurant was warm & comfortable, the welcome on arrival friendly but most of all the food was amazing - fresh and delicious. We only had a short window to enjoy the atmosphere, however the team worked within our timing constraints without hesitation. Totally recommend for any large groups!
We stayed in the Rose Cottage and attended the evening Long Table dinner. The cottage was a neat little place to stay, comfortable, warm everything you needed and the bed was super comfy. The continental breakfast was amazing. The dinner was plentiful full of flavor and a great atmosphere. I would definitely recommend Falls Retreat for a great getaway and dining experience. :)
Absolutely magical setting! Lovely clean room, the Hamper was full of tasty treats and the breakfast was beautiful .

Went there for a family birthday lunch, so didn't experience the accommodation. However, the food was plentiful, original, tasty, and well presented. The service was outstanding and the location is awesome, with bush and waterfalls nearby as well has some historic walks etc. Highly recommend this place.
Had the most amazing meal at The Falls Retreat, situated in Karangahake Gorge.
Amazing ambience coupled with amazing staff and truly out of this world, chefs.
The food is truly memorable and I will eventually work my way through the menu next time I return.

We spent just one night here, in the cute little Waterfall Cottage. It has everything you need in a compact 10sqm space set among a beautiful forest environment and with a view of the nearby waterfall. The ladder to the loft was slightly daunting but we were warned in advance. Cosy and snug with lovely outdoor bath and really good shower plus a very generous breakfast basket. We also ate in the restaurant with two friends - two of us vegans and the food was super creative, plentiful and served with a friendly smile. A truly recommended experience. Just back to Auckland now and feels like we have been away a week. Thanks The Falls.
Overall food was good. Lots of fresh ingredients, I assume from their quite splendid garden. Good place for kids.
My pork belly was chewy rather than crispy, but others had great meals, the beef cheeks and snapper were highlights. And the starter platters were pretty good too.
Wonderful stress free escape with the doggo. I ate like a queen at every meal (continental breakfast with beautiful local fresh produce, packed picnic lunch, hamper and ofc the Feast menu at the restaurant). Then worked off all the food indulgence guilt with bike ride on the Rail trail (bike hire organised by Falls Retreat). Doggo and I were very comfy and cosy by the fireplace in the Rose Cottage, and we enjoyed wandering the beautiful gardens and the easy stroll to Victoria Battery.
