Review Banana Pepper Cafe - Waihi

Nice open setting, not confined and stuffy compared to other cafe's near by. My espresso was nice and hot and we'll extracted. Staff young happy and nice 🙂

We bought sausage rolls and 2 pies which were excellent. Loved the pastry. Owner super friendly let us eat in the restaurant despite in the process of closing for the day.

This was a great cafe - old school NZ with self serve cabinets with loads of pies, sausage rolls, doughnuts, sandwiches, etc. Not very many gluten free options (toasted sandwiches and three different slices to choose from). Staff are super friendly and very helpful :)

Quirky cafe in the "chucked together" style that is not unusual in Waihi. Comfortable seating and plenty of places to sit. The food was good, more like a proper cafe than a bakery although the presentation is somewhat bakery-like, and the serving sizes for food and coffee are good. Prices are reasonable and it appears to be very popular. The location, near the top of town, is good. Parking can be hard to find.

Had lunch today. Coffees were v good. Steak Pie sandwich and cake great. Service was friendly and quick. Good feel. Be back. Keep up the good work.

Their sweet cakes are delicious & so moist. Came here for afternoon tea & breakfast. The Salmon eggs Benedict was interested as it came with a fluffy egg omelet instead of the usual poached eggs - was nice though. My partner got the kiwi breakfast & enjoyed the Hashbrowns & nice, big serving of creamy mushrooms - he had asked for poached eggs & expected them to be runny but they were well done but other than that. Great food & friendly service

Stopped in Waihi on the way through. Had a good coffee, and the sandwiches are fresh and filling.

Mince cheese pie been too long in the warmer. Hot chocolate drink was very nice!

Decided to stop here on Monday after the long weekend away and we were very happy with the delicious food and the great service. Friendly staff and the chef did a top job on our brunches. Decently priced too. Would happily come back again.
