Review Fiddler's Green Vineyard & Bistro - Waipara

Mains are very nicely cooked and matching wines are great! Serving size a bit small thou. We had the lamb rack and scallops. They were delicious. My scallops were also cooked with pork belly, which is nice too. We would come back next time.

Lovely winery. Butter was too hard go spread on bread. Fish under seasoned but great batter. Took a while to sort out our bill even though we only ordered 2 mains and a bottle of wine.

Splendid duck with orange sauce, the zest and orange slice were a delightful combination (perfect for a future dessert, perhaps?). The vegetables were perfectly steamed, but for the price I'd have expected at least twice as many! That tiny amount was truly shocking. The path to the bathroom is cramped when busy. There are few windows on the second floor to admire the view from, but pleasant interior makes up for it. Good service. The menus are printed on bare paper, not even laminated, which is odd and impractical.

Absolutley Outstanding! From Greeting Service Menu and Flavors 5 🌟 Impeccable! surrounded by amazing tranquility n views. I had the pan fried scallop scampi pork belly, hubby sirloin, with a 2012 pinot noir Will be our first choice when dining at the waipara wineries. Thankyou for a tranquil afternoon and amazing hospitality. Highly Recommended

Amazing food, if you're doing a bit of an explore around the Waipara Winery's this is the place you should be planning to have lunch at.

We went for lunch today as a treat for me. And wow I started with the Pate which was just fantastic. Which was then upstaged by the Blue Cod which was so fresh you could taste the ocean. Then desert Chocolate Torte and Vanilla Bean Ice cream finishing with a sublime coffee. Our waitress was a delight with a great knowledge and a quick wit. The Chef also the owner certainly knows his stuff as presentation was perfect. Al in all a wonderful dining experience that will be repeated. Thank you both.

A lovely and romantic atmosphere for date night with the husband! With a warm cozy fireplace for those windy waipara nights. Highly recommend for other couples in the area, as the steak and lamb rack were decadent and delicious. Will go coming back for the next one.

We stopped in and shared an prawn appetizer which was amazing along with a glass of Fiddlers Green Sauvignon Blanc each (yum). We sat outside with a beautiful outlook. Great spot for a day outing from Christchurch!

Outstanding food & wine. Canterbury sirloin was cooked to perfection. Wonderful service from the owners. We were made to feel very welcome. Definitely going back for a return visit. Plus they offer a shuttle service to/from Chch.

Went there for dinner with friends and we really enjoyed it. Food was very well presented and amazingly cooked - chef was great! Service from the maître d, willow and monster was great and so was the wine. Thanks for the lovely night

Amazing food, lovely hosts, charming venue. Wines were fantastic. Highly recommend everything, but the seafood chowder, profiteroles, and french onion soup were superb. The homemade bread is fabulous. If you're on your way down (or up) from Hanmer Springs like us, definitely stop here!
