Review Oslers Bakery And Cafe - Wairoa

Aaahhh the once renowned Oslers. Does it still hold that level of prestige? I believe it does. Whenever I pass through to Mahia, I make sure to stop in and grab something. Excellent staff and plenty of variety, there's sure to be something that takes your fancy. Beautiful pies and cream donuts here especially

Husband and I stop here whenever we go past. Really nice staff and good food. Nice coffee, too.

Wow, excellent bakery. Visiting Wairoa after being away for 50 years and one of the two places we MUST visit was Oslers Bakery. Friendly staff, great coffee and hot chocolate, and what must surely be the world's BEST egg bacon pie...OMG the pie and pies are just brilliant. The egg bacon pie had wonderful chunks of bacon and whole eggs, not the typical scrambled eggs mush of lesser pies elsewhere. Lastly, the service was so friendly, I tipped the lovely cashier.

Love this Bakery! Always stop on the way through Wairoa. Food is brilliant and staff always friendly :) Today was extra busy but was expected with the Gisborne Gorge closed and travellers diverted.

Lovely tasty full cooked breakfast. The waitresses and staff were friendly and efficient and I loved seeing the history in the photos of the walls.

Wow just visit this place. Situated on the banks of a very pretty river in a small town, this historic bakery produces some great pies and cakes. The walls are adorned with amazing historic photos of the bakery's early years. Parking is just outside and disabled access is pretty good. The staff were friendly and clean and the service was great.

Pie and Seafood basket from this iconic bakery. More people from Gisborne than Wairoa when I was there. Enjoyed my chicken pie and basket.

Thought it was shut on Sundays according to Google. Bought sausage rolls, big mistake, they were hard like they'd been in warmer for hours. Ginger loaf nice and fruit loaf ok.

Great bakery and awesome food

Pretty good food. Did fill the gap, great coffee. I just personally felt the price led me to expect a bit more than I experienced. But this may have been the case if I tried one of their many unique pies that were on offer.

Highly recommend the hot pastries, fish buns, sausages, doughnuts, custard squares, raspberry buns, and loaves. The spare ribs, and filled bread rolls have great taste, but are over priced in that the meat ratio is minimal!! The birthday cakes, and Wedges are eye catching but again over priced as I've found them dry on more than one time purchase. Highlight would be the really nice Maori girls that serve.

Best bakery loved the service and food was delicious cream tarts and the mince and cheese pies top marks scotch pies are yummo everything actualy

Love the scotch pies I wait for them every year fantastic. The staff are great, the coffee however is always awful. I must be a sucker for punishment always buy a coffee to go with my pie and I am always disappointed.

Called into Osler's for Raspberry Buns, dounuts and a coffee.
The raspberry buns were still as delicious as ever! Jam in the middle - yum!
The donuts are scrumptiously filled with fresh cream. It is a hard choice for me - a passion-fruit donut or a chocolate eclair. Sometimes the eclair with fresh cream and real chocolate icing wins - but this was a donut kind of day.
We also love the new look. Things are looking clean and tidy and fresh. And the historical photos on wall in the cafe are a really cool addition.
The great coffee was a welcome refreshment on our travels.

The staff are so happy and inviting!! Great to see some changes from new owner, coffee cards introduced as well as new product lines and original recipes!! This bakery is a must stop for anybody that is stopping in or driving through Wairoa!!

The omelets were terrific and the coffee/tea had just the right touches of froth and cinnamon.

Love this bakery. I try and time my arrival so I have an excuse to stop there every time I drive through Wairoa. They have an amazing selection of pies.

Fantastic pies and sausage rolls! The coffee is a bit average but the baked goods make up for it.

Well worth a stop.

Great bakery and cafe with delicious food, Especially their award winning pies. My favourite stop for morning tea on a trip through to Napier!
