It's a little family owned Cafe with some really really good pies... The insides of the cafe looks really interesting, giving it some character. They have many artwork up for sale too.. I definitely recommend the place

We stopped here on our way to Rotorua. As we were in the parking lot a man came outside and put the "Closed" sign out. We asked if we could still grab a cup of coffee and he said yes. They had a catering event to get to, which was why they were closing, but they still made us two delicious cups of coffee as well as heated up a spinach quiche (for me) and a steak pie (for my fiance). Such a cute little spot with great food and coffee and a lovely staff. I would definitely recommend stopping in!

Food is amazing! The equine theme is so unique and absolutely darling. Great place for coffee and/or tea. Such a great find.

This Cafe actually took my breath away as I walked inside. Totally surprised by the inner beauty and presentation of the food. Excellent customer service. Love the steak and cheese pie. My granddaughter will love the booties. 💜

Not much to look at, but get inside to experience some authentic kiwi hospitality. Great pies and pastries, muffins, ice creams... And they'll do your coffee to your exact specifications - and if you're not happy, they'll redo it for free until you are!

Great coffee, great food

Not a place to be underestimated, I walked in expecting a run of the mill cafe, I couldn't have been more wrong! This is hands down one of the best cafe's in NZ. The food is absolutely incredible and tastes Great, the vegetarian options cater very well for vegetarians and vegans alike, again ABSOLUTELY AMAZING

The Black Beagle Cafe is amazing! I had a chicken burger so big I could hardly fit my mouth around it. Nicest burger I’ve had in a long time. And the lovely owners went out of their way to entertain my toddler so that I could actually eat my burger! Total godsends. Thank you! Will definitely be stopping in again!

Excellent coffee and pies! The owner is a very kind man, he even followed our car as I forgot my bag with all my values in his cafe. Would definitely stop here again!

We stopped in on our way to Hahei beach. It was perfect. Friendly service. Great americano. The BLT’s rocked! Bought a pair of hand knit baby booties for my new nephew for $5. Loved every minute of our stop in. Would stop in again tomorrow. 😉
