Review Tititea Steak House - Wanaka

Possibly the best steak in town, but does depend on the cut. Atmosphere can get a little loud when busy, service was very attentive throughout the night. Well priced and food was delicious. The sides were also a nice addition. We did feel a little rushed near the end.

Sam the owner operator was pleasant and welcoming. Lovely meal with the lamb which was cooked perfectly pink n' juicy. Always a pleasure to go to this restaurant with each stay we have in Wanaka. Don't miss a meal out in this restaurant it's food is delicious.

The steaks were delicious we all had different ones but they were all perfectly cooked. Waitress was lovely and very attentive even though it was busy. Great atmosphere we could hear us all talk, no problem there. Omg my dessert Lemon Cheese cake was the best I have ever had. So light and fluffy. I would be back just for that. Rocket Salad and duck potatoes were also delicious. We will be back if we go to Wanaka again.

What a wonderful meal! We shared the beets three ways and then the rib eye with the yams as a side. And the service was friendly and helpful. Hard to imagine how it could have been any better!

Perfectly done eye fillet steaks! Add on toppings for extra flavor, duck fat potatoes great too. Waitresses on the floor were quite friendly and attentive, though when we walked in we saw an exchange of odd glances among the cashier waitress, unsure if it was because we were the only few asians in the restaurant, which didnt feel that great.

Very nice food and attentive staff. I had lamb my partner venison. Desserts weren't as good as the mains, bread and butter pudding a bit stodgy

Amazing Food!! We dined as a group of 4 with 1 child. First time dining out for steak in this price range and we were a bit skeptical with quality and price margin. Happily learned our lesson. We had : Sirloin (med), Eye Fillet (med rare), Lamb Shoulder and another steak (can’t remember). We ended up trying out a few desserts after thoroughly enjoying our meals and side dishes. Best desserts in the south so far. Loved the lightness of the lemon curd cheese cake. All staff were extremely helpful and friendly, got some great recommendations and felt very welcomed.

I was craving some good ole beef based steak after too much lamb since landing in New Zealand. I love me some lamb/mutton here and there but beef is what I enjoy more and thats how we landed at this steakhouse during our trip. I give it a 5 star not because it was anything super special or different but because they did things right. The steak was cooked as requested, medium rare for me, and tasted great. The duck fat fried potatoes as a side complimented the meat perfectly. Everything was delicious. My only complaint isn't about the food but about the seating. It's a small place and they crowded the tables real close. Hard to move without brushing up against your neighbors and hard to have an intimate date cause your neighbors can definitely hear. Didn't try anything other than the beef so no idea how their other proteins are.

Tititea Steak House is solidly 5☆, the best food I've had touring around the South Island in 6 weeks. Great food, service & atmosphere. Well-trained staff. I had Beets Three Ways to start (4/5), which was a much larger portion than I'd expected. For the main, I had the Savannah Ribeye on the bone (5/5), sautéed mushrooms (4/5), roasted garlic herb compound butter (4/5) with a side of Citrus Salad (butternut, pear & goat's cheese) (5/5). My dessert was the Creme Brulee with freeze-dried raspberry (5/5). The Chard Farm Mata-au is the pick of the Pinot Noirs and the Mt Difficulty PG dessert wine paired well with dessert.

Sides were awesome and the Wagyu was great. Eye fillet came out a bit overdone but when questioned Sophie did an awesome job of resolving the issue.

Easily one of the best restaurants we've been to in New Zealand! The service was attentive and friendly, the food was spectacular. I came specifically for the Venison Loin and it did not disappoint - the pomegranate glaze was TO DIE FOR. The only tiny critique is that the decor was lacking a bit and there was no music was playing.

Steak house with good food and a nice atmosphere. I thought the New York Strip was delicious. Also recommend the citrus salad as a side (the seasonal greens was also tasty). Service was good.

Amazing food and drinks! The meat was cooked perfectly. Very happy with our dinner. Can understand why the place is so popular and booking are essential. However the place got let down by wait staff. We couldn't hear our waitress as she was so quiet. When we went to pay, the lady at the counter didn't listen very well and ended up charging everything to the wrong person and we had to repeat ourselves many times.

Will be 100% booking to ensure we get in. A not to be missed experience of amazing food, with brilliant service and a warm and welcoming dining room. We rocked up without a booking. We were looked after, drinks at the bar and from there the food and wine was excellent. Topped off with a lovely dessert. The steak ribeye rare was excellent. Mushrooms were on the small side but that would be the only critique. The four of us eating all were blown away by the food and service. Until next time. Highly recommended!!

The Te Mana lamb shoulder is the dish to get here and it is absolutely delicious. Full stop. The slow-roasted lamb shoulder is what my YEA and I rewarded ourselves with after a day of hiking Roy’s Peak nearby. It’s definitely a dish for two but if you are feeling extra hungry then no shame in turning it into a food challenge for yourself. The meat is so tender and juicy as you easily cut through it. Each mouthful was wonderful. The root veggies were on point and the bacon cabbage medley was crunchy joy. There wasn’t much table talk because we were just enjoying the dinner so much and having a “moment”. The restaurant is easy to miss because it is on the second floor of a building and you have to look for that door that will lead you up a flight of stairs. The restaurant decor in the dining room is very soft on the eyes and it has this modern minimalist elegance to it. Cheers to the friendly and caring staff. They didn’t have any problem when we wanted to switch to another table as the sun was setting and the sunlight was blinding me from the window. Come here for the slow-roasted lamb shoulder, it’s totally worth it!

Book a table and go there - what a lovely experience, we had the eye fillet steak with horseradish sauce accompanied with the spinach & walnut salad and the brussel sprouts that had amazing flavour. The bread & butter pudding was delicious. The staff were friendly, efficient and coped with a busy Friday night crowd. Totally recommend. We will return. Thanks

Oh wow! As big meat eaters and with my partner being Argentinian and very picky with his meat, we can say that this is a must visit restaurant! We actually ordered the duck and mushroom risotto to share as an entre. The texture was fantastic and the flavour was very rich. I can say I could taste the soft notes of the Peking duck flavours. My main was eye fillet rare as it is always what I order when I visit any steakhouse for the first time. The steak was perfectly rare and evenly cooked, not overdone and not raw in the middle. Just perfect with a soft and juicy texture. The mushroom and bacon sauce worked very well with the beef. My partner had the 3 different steaks on the grill stone ( you cook at the table). It was beautifully presented and stone kept the heat for the whole meal. My partner likes his meat more on the medium- well side, so he was able to take his time with cutting the steak into pieces and quickly getting them to the desired level. For the side he had duck fat potatoes, which was more than enough for both of us to share. We also had aioli which was nice and thick and full of flavour. The staff are all very friendly and we felt like they genuinely cared if we loved the food which makes the visit even more pleasant. We are really glad that we managed to get a table here this time around and would highly recommend it.

Arguably, it is easier for a restaurant chef to excel at complex than it is to nail the simple. My partner, Sally, was yearning for some simple veggies, so she ordered 4 side dishes instead of a main. I ordered the pumpkin risotto. The sides were done to perfection! (my risotto was excellent, but I have yet to find a risotto to surpass the one I had about 7 years ago!) So, while the chef may have thought it an odd order (and the waitstaff were consumate professionals) they had two very satisfied customers. Plus, I had two glasses of the house label Pinot Noir - Otago PN are are some of the best in the world! 10 out of 10 WGK.

First impressions last. Impeccable setup of the restaurant complemented with down to earth wait staff. We had the scallop entree, lamb shoulder and the 400g steak chased down with local craft beers. Taste is indescribable. The sticky toffee pudding is da bomb! You'll find it hard to find anything to match or surpass the quality food here!

Had a fabulous meal here, to be fair for the third time. The lamb shoulder is simply divine, the calamari and pate were excellent starters and you leave feeling full, content and very well looked after. Truly can't fault this fabulous place we are so lucky to have it in Wanaka. Thanks team
