Had the venison and pork ribs. Huge meal, tasty and beautifully cooked. Atmosphere is a bit crowded but i gess that means its popular with the locals

Both the lamb and fish of the day were delicious. There were bluff oysters but they came in half a dozen orders. I would have liked to just try a couple. Pretty lively atmosphere and great beers to round it out.

The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating and the food was spectacular, particularly the salad. There was a mix up with our order and the waitress was quick to correct the issue and was even kind enough to take the meal off our bill. Management clearly care about the customers experience and what they did was very kind. I highly reccommend supporting this business.

A week on, still delighted by the warmth and attentive service we received from the crew, especially Tanya and Max (sorry if I messed up the spelling!). They are all absolutely lovely and made us feel so welcome. (Thanks for taking care of my mum while we went to the Rocky Mountain 🫶😜)
The chef served up amazing, delicious food - we had grilled prawns, gnocchi and fish and chips! The portions were very generous too. Highly recommend making a stop here for top-notch service when visiting the charming Wanaka!

Wonderful! Food was terrific. Best steak I've eaten in a very long time. Done to perfection. Hubby had the fish pie and loved it. Service was very friendly and I'd definitely recommend this place for anybody local or passing through.

The lady proprietor or owner provides amazing service and made us feel so welcomed. Hands down best service we've had in New Zealand. Unfortunately, the food fell a bit short of expectations. Fish & chips were mediocre and ribs were way overcooked and could not finish it as it was inedible. Would visit again for drinks though.

But poor service - the way we got greeted & the way our order has been taken while ordering our food at the counter was terrible, there was no smile on the waitress face, was bit arrogant behaviour body language, the way she delivered coffee was terrible.
Noticed this as i am a restaurant manager from Auckland.

Beautiful views of the lake from inside. Service was incredibly friendly and helpful. Everything was good but the appetizers and especially the Fish goujons were amazing.

We just enjoyed a fabulous day and finished off with a superb meal that had more than a hint of ‘I care’ in the preparation. The calamari was up there, and the lamb special was just perfect (even bought chef a drink) service was complimented by Liv who is their not so secret asset, a most pleasant young lady. Thanks guys!

We came to Trout for dinner and ordered a beef burger and seafood pasta. The beef burger was absolutely mouth-watering and absolutely loved every bite of it.
The seafood pasta on the other hand was generous with fresh prawns, but the pasta could be prepared much better. There wasn't much flavour and taste on the pasta, overall making the dish mediocre.

We had lamb blackstrap and the beef steak with arancini balls entree. The food was fantastic and filling and the service was 10/10. I think we had the manager serve us and she was so lovely and really made our night. Will definitely be back if we are ever back in Wanaka

Visited on a Friday evening and enjoyed the food and service. The pork ribs were the best I have tasted for a long time and the roast vegetable salad was excellent too. We also enjoyed a mulled wine and pale ale. Recommend this restaurant.

Great food! Our table had a varied assortment of dishes from fish n chips to French toast, eggs Benedict to calamari, every dish was delicious (I cheekily tried them all) and the service was always with a smile! Best spot to eat and drink in Wanaka by far!! Well done team trout!

Spent a lovely evening at Trout Bar a lovely atmosphere with great friends. Ordered a sharing platter which is by far the best I have ever had ... Fantastic friendly staff ..Can't wait until next time .
