Oh what amazing food here! If you are up for a salad, go for the crispy chicken salad. Absolutely delicious! The steak with butter garlic sauce is not to be missed, please do try it!!

Food was really good. Service from the bar staff was excellent. Not so good from the waitress who took our order though. Very indifferent, didn't really listen when we were ordering. Did not know which specials were on for a Thursday night and really did not care for her customers. The other staff were really good & the food was excellent. Get rid of her and it would be 5 stars.

Visited on our first night in Wanaka and grabbed a table at their outdoor patio overlooking the lake around sunset. You go up to the counter to order, which wasn’t immediately clear to us. But the staff was helpful enough when flagged down. One of the servers made some helpful wine recommendations. We ordered the fish taco and pork butt appetizers to share - the pork was 10/10 - SO good and crispy with an amazing BBQ sauce. Lamb shank was okay - sauce was good but would have been better if it was crisped up. Service was very fast - good if you need a decent quick meal!

Wonderful food and wine. Small comment would be that there were too many mustard seeds in the mash, but still recommend for dinner and drinks. Great view of the lake if you sit outside. Also has a wonderful fire on the go.

Wow! We stopped here Thursday night just because I looked like a great view for some of us tourists. We ended staying for the steak special much and it was amazing. Perfectly cooked and yummy. Laura was ou bartend and also came and checked on our food- was so nice and welcoming! 100% recommend.

Came early (5pm ish) got busy quick! Food was incredible and the wings were $1 each! When they say crispy they mean crispy! So good!! Lamb shank was really good, a little fatty but you'd expect that, good selection of food and drink! Very happy we came!

Water Bar actually exceeded expectations. Very good service (waiter had remarkable memory). Quick turnaround and flexible for allergies. Nice food. Recommend the burger. Busy pub-like atmosphere. Wouldn’t take the kids there later in the evening but certainly kid friendly for dinner time.

Had lunch here twice during our stay in Wanaka. Good views of the lakefront, the buttermilk chicken burger is tasty. Also had a pumpkin and feta salad very nice. BUT the lemon and pepper squid is the BEST!!! Its a MUST HAVE!!! Squid was cooked perfectly on both occassions we ordered it :)

Shout-out to water bar for serving us the most delicious fish tacos in NZ! My friend also loved the lamb shank which was really tender. Perfect view of the lake from the restaurant. 😍 The lady staff who served us was also really professional!

We came to this place at night, it was very busy.<br/>We seated outside because there is no table inside. The service was very good, they move us inside when there’s space. I ordered a med-rare steak, unfortunately the one came was a well done. I complaint to the staff, and they were very polite and giving me a new one. Top notch service. <br/>Food was great, but the wait time is pretty long, reasonable for busy night.<br/>Will come again next time!

The Water Bar is definitely guaranteed to be a good night. The staff are nice. There's tv's everywhere showing snowboarding etc which is awesome, the music is good (and loud) and there's pool tables and board games i.e. JENGA! We left our table for 10 mins and my gloves had already been nicked, which sucks. Drinks are cheap! Food was reasonable too and pretty tasty - meals came out a few minutes apart which wasn't too bad except we ordered seasonal veges for one of the meals and it came out well after the meal was finished! Also, might just be me but I'd usually expect more than just broccoli and cauliflower..

Stopped in for lunch and got a chicken burger and nachos. Hubby wasn't able to finish the nachos they were that filling - but a great flavour! <br/>I had the chicken burger and the taste was great! Very filling also!

Came here on a Monday night due to the specials. 5.30-6.30 $4 beers and 241 all main meals from 5pm onwards. <br/><br/>Ordered the lamb shoulder. To be honest I wasn't expecting much for $12 after the discount. <br/><br/>Food came out and it looked fantastic. Pea puree was great, the potato cake was a lot different to what I was expecting. However it was really tasty. The lamb shoulder could have done with a bit more seasoning, but it was still very good.<br/><br/>The whole meal was filling and the meals my friends got were just as good.

Went here on Wanaka Show weekend it was busy but meals were served quickly and the food was divine. Bar staff were amazing and when we had a small issue with one of the sides it was immediately replaced at no extra charge.<br/><br/>Absolutely will be going back for some delicious well priced food!!
