A good fish and chips shop near the waterfront. Very good portion size for $13 monkfish and chips with tartare sauce. Very friendly service by the lady at the counter. Definitely recommended
A friend recommended this place upon hearing we where visiting Wanaka. We had the Chicken bits on Chips.. it was on special that time, so we got it for a cheaper price. We had take away and enjoyed it with the lake view.
Fresh blue cod
This was one of the best fish and chip meals that we've had in New Zealand. We chose to have our blue cod grilled and it was cooked to perfection - it was still moist and tasty. The chips and salad were very good too!!
If you want to make the most of the lake front and sun, come here and grab some fish and chips to go..... For $12.50 you get fish + chips or coleslaw. We opted for grilled fish and greek salad so paid extra. Unfortunately they only had Monkfish which is one of the ugliest looking fish in the sea and has quite a firm chewy texture, but was nonetheless seasoned nicely. Was a fair wait to get our food, but there's nothing like sitting by the water while swimming and eating!
Lamb burger was an absolute stunner, added Haloumi cos I'm dank skitz like that. Large chips were standard, quite a good serving for five bucks but didn't need them after the huge burger.
Also never fear, they have vinegar here. If I'd known about the chicken salt, would have gotten that though.
Will be returning to try other burgers and goodies. Fish and chips looks pretty standard but can't swear to its quality as I haven't tried it.
I think this place is a hit & miss sometimes. Often backpackers runs the joint so can't often expect that good consistency. We ordered blue cod was really nice. Nicely battered & perfectly fried. Chips were also not bad but nothing overly good. Fried chicken was nice. Crispy outside & juicy inside.Price is reasonable & the location perfect as it's right infront of Wanaka lake. Overall rating 3.7*

OMG! Their Pork belly burger is absolutely amazing, it was the best burger that I have ever eaten. thanks Boaboa! I would definitely come back in my next visit.
Between our two choices, the crumbed blue cod & chips outshone the burger I ordered. Thin crumb and steaming, flakey fish innards.
