Review Bridge House - Warkworth

Joe Noone
The Bridge House Bar and Restaurant is a well-presented and very likeable place with a traditional wood featured design and has two fireplaces for winter nights. In summer the outdoor dining on the riverside and at the sheltered rear of the property prove to be very popular. Wedding receptions and family events are also well catered for. A great asset to the community.

We just had a bite to eat here and we really liked it. It was easy, but great choices and very delicious. We had the tofu curry, chicken salad and delicious sticky date pudding with butterscotch sauce

We held a surprise birthday party for my sister at The Bridge House and it was a great success. The food and service were excellent. There weren't charges for the private room or for us bringing in a cake. All the guests were very complimentary.

Stay here for 1 night recently. Our room and bed was super comfy. Bar down stairs was great, especially in front of the open fireplace. Great for warming up on a winters night. Would definitely go back for a sister trip next time!

A Warkworth institution since ages ago, the Bridgehouse is arguably Warkworths best spot for a drink and food. I used to go a lot back in the noughties so it was a logical spot to meet up with old friends after being overseas for 14 years. It hasn't changed a bit! The decor is still good, the atmosphere is good, the food is great. I'm giving it 4 stars for service only because the staff weren't super friendly in that Kiwi way you kinda expect in NZ, but other than that picky little detail they were fine and overall a great experience. Parking nearby can be challenging as the venue does not have its own carpark. It can get pretty rowdy Friday arvo with tradies apparently according to my mate. I was just there for lunch on a week day so it was quite. I expect it is still busy on the weekends. Not sure if you can book a table or not.

Oh my goodness, what a lovely spot this place is to have lunch (or any meal really). The location is great and the staff are brilliant at what they do, and they are so kind. Off-road parking is very helpful and disability access was easy to use. Thank you Bridge House !!

The upstairs rooms are comfortable and get morning sun, with the balcony getting the afternoon sun. Food is very good and there's free onsite parking. Walkworth town is a couple of mins walking distance.

Had lunch here. the food was delicious, and the service was okay. The fire was going, which made it feel nice and cosy, also a nice location next to the river.

Great atmosphere yummy pizza, qe had the Moroccan chicken. Loved that they had puhoi fiejoa wine as an option on the wine menu, it's such a kiwi thing!

Fantastic food, generous servings. The kids menu items are massive! I got an entre sized salad for dinner and it was too large to finish. Gets busy very quickly, and loud. The balcony at the back is beautiful and has such a lovely view. Great service.

Lots of bridge, lots of house. Pretty choice spot with a really good looking menu. Staff are pretty cool cats It was a rainy day so the fireplace was a vibe in and of itself. If I lived out those ways I'd certainly be more of a regular around the joint.

Good weather makes all the difference we were lucky to sit outside in the sun whilst having a drink and a meal. Both sets of staff were extremely efficient. The catering staff took our order and we were soon able to tuck into some really nice food. On completion of our meal and soon after we left our seats the unpaid white feather staff were very good at clearing up the table left overs. Joking apart, we had a very nice meal and if it wasn't for the fact that I'm returning back to the UK I would come back again.

Been going there for years. Food is always fantastic and being dog friendly is a plus for us

We booked 2 rooms. 1 x queen, 1 x family unit and both were very spacious and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Beds are so good and comfortable. I have only given 4 stars for service because we never got to dine in at the restaurant, in saying that, it was good Friday so totally understandable. We have eaten at this restaurant before and the food is yummy. It is the reason why we stopped here for the night rather than traveling straight to Auckland. This place is great for a stopover stay. The staff did apologize for the restaurant, like I said it was completely understandable. There were some other food options available close by so it's not like we were left to starve. Warkworth itself is a lovely community. Love the little riverside walkway, and the locals are very friendly.
