This cafe is well worth a stop.
Delicious baked goods, the salmon cream cheese and caper tart was so full of flavour . The mushroom filo pie was yummy and mushroomy followed by a light and lemony yoghurt cake
The iced lattes were served with a morsel of ginger crunch.
They service was impeccable.

Couple from the United States driving from Wellington to Auckland in between the women's World Cup soccer matches. Great little place. Wonderful little town. Great ladies behind the counter. Enjoyed it a lot!

We were recommended by friends to visit the Main Street Cafe on our way back to Wellington from New Plymouth. I had a pie and my wife had a sandwich. The pie I think had been microwaved as some of the pastry was hard on the bottom of the pie. But it tasted great, and the report from my wife on her sandwich was very good. But unfortunately my flat white was bitter and most likely the milk or the coffee had a burnt and bitter taste. Not great. Hence the 4 stars only review. But the atmosphere here was very local, with people chatting and the staff talking lots with people in the cafe. Nothing flash here, but nice buzzy atmosphere.
