Smith The Grocer - Wellington - Photo album

Such a lovely cafe and right next to Starbucks. Where as Starbucks had a 20 min wait time, Smith and Grocer prepared the lovely coffee in record time ! We also had a chicken panini which was full of flavour and fresh. Orange Almond cake was moist and just right in flavour. Would definitely go there
Just finished brunch here, and have decided that the staff here epitomize what good service looks like. Genuine smiles. Offers of help. Prompt. Excellence. I marked food down slightly because one of my two poached eggs was slightly overdone. I should have told them I like them very runny. Also, I've
I do like a friendly reception at a cafe! Makes such a difference and everything tastes better! The mere fact they agreed to a team photo speaks volumes.
Nice premise, lots of yummy food to choose from. Panini was great and had a lot of fillings. Banana chocolate bread was very tasty. The scone was delicious. Wait time is good even when busy. This is our go-to place for lunch when we are in Wellington shopping for the day.
Beautiful food in the cabinet and from kitchen, elegant atmosphere, and well presented. Ive had kedgeree, frittata, signature ginger slice, and wonderful salads. Dont let it disappear...This cafe deserves your support during these pandemic times!
Nice cafe, airy and bright, in an historic arcade. Great coffee, nice cakes and sandwiches, as well as an all day menu and lunchtime blackboard specials.
What a lovely find on a day in town. Our table in the arcade was quiet and surrounded by lovely shops. The Vietnamese salad with chicken was superb: fresh and tasty. Was wonderful.
Cozy small cafe with really good ,friendly staff, we ordered 🇻🇳 Vietnamese salad and a beef burger. Both of them were delicious. If you don't mind the crowded and small space, definitely try it 👌👌
Coffee is always excellent. Was close to closing with 30 mins to go. Watched a staff member ask a family to move their pram with baby in it so she could remove the mat to clean. Surely this could have waited and the family could have enjoyed their purchases in peace?
Good food, coffee ok.... nice place
Always busy on weekdays as well as weekends. Limited seating. Service quality varies depending on the day. If not busy, service is okay. If busy and you are unlucky, poor service. Freshly made food and desserts. Coffee is average. A bit overpriced but understandable given its central location. Servi
Walked past the Old Bank Arcade and chanced upon this cafe. Decided to have breakfast here and my Oat porridge ($14) was a tad different from what I expected. Think they left out some toppings. It is not dairy free, so beware (had dairy milk on the side). Loved the turmeric latte though, and the ra
My favourite central city cafe whenever I visit Wellington, where I always feel welcome despite how busy it is, the coffee great and cabinet food (and those scones) always enticing. Must try the printed menu (for a breakfast perhaps) some time. Looks tempting.
Here for afternoon tea. Plenty of sweet treats. Raw silky snickers bar, was to die for. This was on another level for taste and texture. I should have had another. Instead lemon meringue pie, was good, just not enough lemon. Order at counter then its bought to you. Cabinet food looked very tempting.
Went for early lunch, place was packed. Food was nice but my friend's lunch arrived over 10 minutes before mine. Meals at same table should be delivered together please.
What an awesome we find this place is, ordered the brioche French toast, was above and beyond expectations, staff super friendly, will definitely be back next time in Wellington.
Great Cafe food always fresh staff friendly only concern cabinet food very expensive.
