Review Dillinger's Brasserie & Bar - Wellington

Came here because of reviews from a few years back showing fried chicken and waffles. The fried chicken is no longer served with waffles—it’s on sourdough. We opted for the two options pictures. Both were solid and hearty. Can highly recommend adding hash browns to any dish with eggs, and dipping the crispy hash browns in the runny yoke.

Whether it’s a takeaway coffee or to dine in, Dillingers is the place to go. Excellent service, friendly professional staff, and the food is just fabulous. Besides the fact that staff and servers are very attentive, how agile they are to ensure that you have a 5 star experience is incredible. And the minimum wage they pay their staff is the living wage!! So a ✅✅✅ from me! I take my business meetings there and personal catch ups and I’m never disappointed! Highly recommend. ♥️

Massive THANK YOU to the team at Dillingers! With just a week's notice during the busiest time of the year, a party of 25 was accommodated for brunch. The food and drinks were great (think we collectively tried everything on the breakfast menu and the feedback was positive across the board), the staff were all lovely and attentive and all in all, my team had a great time. Special thanks to Emilie for her help, communication and excellent photography skills. Would highly recommend Dillingers and look forward to returning :)

This is one of my must go places for breakfast when I am in Wellington City, New Zealand. I am very pleased with the service, food and coffee. The servers are so attentive and prompt in getting things done. The food is fabulous and the coffee just makes my day better. In my recent visit, I had the Cheese Steak Benedict on sourdough. The steak and eggs were cooked perfectly to my taste. I enjoyed it a lot. If you are keen to savour their food, I suggest you go before 8 am as the crowd will be there around 8 am. Unless you don’t mind waiting longer to get your food.

Visited Dillinger's for breakfast and coffee and was top notch service again. Highly recommended

The food was really good and we had a nice time.

We used to girl date here on the regular but with moving jobs and places we haven't been for ages! Food was delicious, garlic mash was drool worthy. Little on the pricey side but worth it.

The venue is very clean and tidy, with a welcoming, comfortable feel about the place. The service was quick and cheerful. I ate the fish n chips w/salad, it was cooked to perfection, and my latte was delicious. I will continue to keep coming back, time and time again.

well. impressed. loved the kumara wedges made by Drew the chef of the night. Must say as a kumara chip/wedges lover these were exceptional. Matched wonderfully with the dark beer on tap made by a Miramar company, chocolate orange vibe... had to get two as... yummy!!! Double Vision Brewery... Have to go back just for those freakin kumara wedges. yum!!!! loaded fries were meh. Popcorn chicken was ok. Service was great. Newbie serving us was lovely, did a good job. Like the art deco decor, comfy padded seating was a win. Also noted a wobbly patron... the serving staff said "thats his last one" for drinks to the bar staff. Appreciated the attentive service and keeping everyone safe. Happy night. Like the vibe.

The chicken poppers side dish was well seasoned and juicy, and was better received than the Southern Fried chicken main in that the latter was a tad dry inside. The slow cooked Wagyu brisket was tender but also a tad dry, which was only slightly improved by the red wine jus included. All in all a decent food experience with excellent service and a lively bar atmosphere.

Had been wanting to try out the Kapura venues in Wellington as I love the ones in the Mount. Dillinger’s really stood out, the service was some of the best I’ve seen in a while - friendly, quick and offered great recommendations. Some mates and I tried a range from the extensive menu including the Beef Brisket, penne ratatouille and my favourite, the smoked cauliflower. Dishes were hot and fresh and came out from the kitchen in great speed despite the restaurant being full, which nicely added to atmosphere. Overall, highly recommended, will be on my list to revisit.

Had lunch here on a lovely Wellington day. The service was absolutely excellent, they went out of their way to cater for our request for a muffin by offering a muffin that they had brought in for other employees. The employee did this professionally and courteously. I had the Baby Face Nelson fried chicken burger, which was excellently portioned and absolutely delicious, with amazing shoestrings and garlic aioli. The atmosphere was quite nice, however it wasn’t the most exceptional part of the experience. Would highly recommend Dillengers to anyone on Lambton Quay or in the area wanting an amazing lunch!

The perfect spot to enjoy a meal with friends or workmates. Friendly helpful staff. Delicious food. Plush comfortable seating. And a great ambience! Conveniently located in the heart of the city … would definitely dine here again.

I always come here for coffee or after work drinks and the service is always friendly and the food good. I love that you can bring your dog and the staff is just awesome. Today I had a second catch up there and I didn't even realised I lost something the first time. Two staff members immediately came over and gave me back the item I didn't even know I had lost. They didn't wait for me to ask. They were so lovely and although I felt embarrassed they were super easy about it. Just love the place!!

Good seating both indoors and outside. Friendly attentive staff. Nice place for a wine after work. Emily provides some of the best customer service in the city.

Good spot for a coffee or a quick meal. Located in Midland park in the center of Wellington. It has great ambiance matched with good food and service. There are some interesting metal and water sculptures that took my attention and added to the experience of this establishment.

Great location with a close walk from the train station. Been here twice for both the lunch menu and brunch menu, both of which were delicious - burgers were good!. Choose to sit outside and enjoy a craft beer from a large selection on tap or sit inside in one of the many seating options (high tables or low). Staff are very friendly and attentive.

Nice food. Prompt delivery of meal, even during lunch. Shame the server did not check on our cutlery... empty table next door had cutlery.

Came here with my partner on the weekend and I tried the southern chicken waffles. It was super tasty!! The maple syrup was infused with chilli and the chicken was nice and crispy and seasoned well. Probably the best chicken & waffles I've ever had! Would definitely come back :)

Really disappointed with our visit last weekend for brunch. Was immediately greeted on arrival and shown to our table. Was told someone would be over to take our orders. No one came. Went up to the bar to order coffee and coke.Coffee came 10 min later but no sign of our coke. Asked the server how long it would be until we received it and They had totally forgot about it. At this stage we ordered our food. Once the food arrived we found it all really bland. Had no seasoning/flavour at all. They must of been having a bad day because both tables either side of us weren’t getting what they ordered either.

Went to Dillingers with the wife for Thursday night date night. Never been here before and was quite surprised that the place was buzzing with people still at after work drinks even though the weather was horrible.<br/>We were a little slow to be greeted but that was probably due to how busy they were but before long we were shown to our table and given menus.<br/>I ordered the pork belly while my wife ordered the 200g New York strip. Service from the kitchen was very quick and before long our meals were served.<br/>The steak was cooked to perfection and was served with a perfectly balanced chimichurri sauce. The side of parmesan fries was also very generous and assured us that we were not going to leave hungry.<br/>My pork belly was one of the best I have had. It was absolutely beautiful to look at. The pork was extremely tender and the fat rendered perfectly with the crackling spot on. It was served with smoked mashed potatoes which was one of the best mash I have had and accompanied the pork very well.<br/>Throughout dinner our waitress was very attentive filling up our water every time it was near empty and asking us if everything was okay and if there was anything we needed when ever she did this.<br/>Ambiance wise the higher backed benches in the dining area did well to block out some of the noise from the pub/drinking area and the music was played at a perfect level as to be able to hear it but also be able to have a conversation with people at your table without having to shout. We felt lighting was a little dim but that is just a personal preference but did not really affect our experience.<br/>I would highly recommend Dillinger's and will be returning ar some stage to try other things from their menu.<br/><br/>Food - 10/10<br/>Staff - 10/10<br/>Ambiance - 8/10<br/>Price - 7/10<br/><br/>Would I return - Most Definitely
