Review Little Beer Quarter - Wellington

Fun place with a great beer selection. Food is filling and above average for a pub. Staff are great, and really accommodating. Quick and efficient. There's an arrange of seating, booth high table, outdoor and secluded. The decor is fun and makes for a great place to go out.

Super cosy, European pub vibes! We tried the Welly on a plate kebab and the toastie competition toastie, both were peeeeeerfect! They had a great selection of beers and seem to have loads of regular events on. Can't wait to go back đŸ»

Great atmosphere, cool crowd & the Liberty Prohibition Porter was absolutely amazing!

Look, it's not as busy as other places but that's because you gotta know where it is. Yum drinks, fast & delicious food. Fantastic indoor/outdoor flow. Great atmosphere.

We enjoyed a Wellington on a Plate burger there. Zucchini fries were the standout to me. Mayo also good. Garage Project Devils Lettuce was a great beer. Great atmosphere and pub is a hidden jewel in the city. Has great selection of beers

Loved it! And their beers are constantly changing on the menu list. But I tried this beer which ended with lust and it was justtt amazing. I could drink a big bucket of it. Can't wait to visit here again. 😊

Nice little place tucked away down an ally. Nice craft beer, Mary Jane pizza amazing, staff very nice and some really wacky wallpaper in the WC

Gorgeous ambiance in little nooks and corners. Take time to hit the bathroom. The best tiled vibe. Friendly staff with consistently great selection. Loved having the barley wine on tap! Well worth stopping by on your way to a Meow concert or make an evening of LBQ. Vegan options for grub as well appreciated.

Tucked away in a courtyard setup, this place is by all means and intents a quaint yet visually tasteful and homey welcome especially after a long week of work! Walking through the double swing barn doors you are welcomed by a beautiful rustic tavern aesthetic that is bound to get you in the cheerful mood! The service, wow, on point! Fast, professional, respectful and accommodating! Here, there is something for everyone! I ordered an orange juice, simple, fresh and perfect! It's good to see that a bar that caters mainly for beers and alike don't neglect the non-alcoholic options with imitating the real thing. Well done LITTLE BEER QUARTER! Bring your family, friends and work colleagues to chill out here and take in the quater we tend to neglect in our lives for sure! Now wonder why everyone in there was so happy!

Like the vibe and fireplace. Not too big a place or too crowded. Cosy. Music isn't too loud to have a conversation.

Great little place though we probably destroyed the cool vibe with our noisy messy kids. Woap burgers were great but not sold on the tatter tots that came with them. It's quite cozy so I imagine it can get squishy on busy nights. Would like to come back for a drink without the minis!

Had a great meal here with my man. Had the LBQ burger, chicken bites and truffle parm fries. All really good! The chicken bites were a bit few and small for the price. The burger size made up for it though and the truffle fries were legit AF.

Best pub in New Zealand, it's that simple. Great selection of craft beer, delicious food, friendly staff and awesome ambience. Do yourself a favour and grab a pint or three here.

My favourite place in Wellington to drink all year round! Staff are great, super chill but still attentive and knowledgeable about their products, always happy to let us try new things! The small and cosy set up makes for a good vibe, will always come back here!

Nice small place. Looks a bit congested when packed but offers great beer choices. If you are looking for variety - this might just not be the place, limited craft beer options. But if you are looking for taste, they have some great beer options.

Ambiance - 3.5, Service - not really tested, Bar table is quick and are helpful (4.0), Food - 3.5

My son and his friend tagged me along, as I've never been here. I was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance and friendly staff, including their homey atmosphere, although it got a bit crowded after a while. A great selection of craft beer!

I like good beer and this is the Little Beer Quarter. Perfect fit. I see some complaining below about the service. Its a pub - I'm glad there's not people hovering round topping up my water glass, asking if "sir would like to see the desert menu" and putting fake flowers in the toilet (yes its the toilet not a bathroom). ITS A PUB and yep, thanks, "I'd love another beer."

A very busy craft beer hidden in the Edward Precinct in the City. We were there just after 5 on Thursday and it was packed. A mix of happy people who love their beers. Despite the quirky look of the place, staff were very warm taking time to explain different beers and let you try before the decision. It was very relaxing! Oh there was a lovely dog visited with his owner and sit on the couch. I was really pleased that everyone including the staff had no problem with his presence. Nice people and nice place!

Great atmosphere and food was excellent. Pizzas were awesome and lots of sides to choose from. Service was good and there was also an excellent choice of beers and wines.

Not much to say. Burger on a plate. Best burger I've ever had. Service around a 2. Told find my own table and when ordering a second beer when they don't service a table.....You I was first in lie but 5th person served because I wasn't a hipster. Otherwise would have been a 5

My partner and i were looking forward to dining here for the first time but were greeted by absolutely poor and unattentive service. We walked into the restaurant/bar and there was no one working on the floor and no one to ask if we need to wait for a table or find one ourselves. There was a mess of a crowd at the bar area and we gave up after standing around for a good 10 minutes unsure of how the system here works. There is no one to approach or ask any questions. Doubt we'll be returning for a second attempt at dining here.

My partner and I went here for lunch today with a Grabone Voucher. The place itself is off the main road and unless you knew it was there you would walk right past. Inside is amazing, filled with little knick knacks and beer related humour.

The gentlemen at the bar were friendly and informative about the beer. I however can't drink beer and found their non alcoholic range very limiting.

We both ordered a pizza, I had the margarita and my partner the pork pizza. They did take a very long time to come out though (30mins). Mine was ok the salsa had A LOT of coriander in it which overpowered pretty much everything else. My partners pizza was really good though, he thoroughly enjoyed it.

I would definitely recommend this place as a cool alternative to a normal bar, as long as you don't have a time restraint.

Loved this bar. Very quiet; hidden down a back alley. It's hard to find good dark beer options but this place delivered. Loads of options and both indoor / outdoor seating. Bartenders are very knowledgeable.

Can be hard to find as it is tucked away in an alley but it's great place to grab a few drinks. The atmosphere is awesome and the bar staff very casual and friendly.

Been here a few times, likely will go a few more!

Finally got the chance to visit this gem earlier this week with a friend, and by God I'm glad I did. The food here is absolutely mouth-wateringly good, with interesting selections for pizzas and mains or delicious crispy chicken nibbles you will not be disappointed!! (Or hungry)

Little Beer Quarter, or “LBQ” as it’s commonly referred to, is very popular. So popular in fact that we couldn’t even get in there the first time that my friends and I tried. With 14 rotating taps, 2 hand pumps and over 100 different bottled beers to choose from, LBQ draws a varied crowd from the young alternative types to the after work office crowd and the older crowd too.

Popped in for an after work drink and pub meal on a Thursday. I had the Elderflower Cider and the open steak sandwich. Decent pub meal and the cider was nice - not sweet like the usual bottle ciders on the market at the mo. The meal rated well against other meals I have had. Funky atmosphere and good music (Black Keys were playing when I was there). Can see why it is busy!

I can't rate this as when we showed up on a Saturday for some food and a drink the place was closed! Wtf! No sign saying why?
What a waste of a drive into town. Had been here before and got a beer - it was flat! I was reluctant to go back and now know I won't be back if you aren't even polite enough to put a note up as to why you are closed on a Saturday 3pm that isn't even a public holiday!

One of the best beer bars in Wellington. Love this place. Tasty food, with a great selection of tap beers. The sharing platters are really good, filling and great value for money. This is definitely a new regular.

Lacklustre service. Basic presentation. Expensive dull food.
My partner and I arrived to an empty restaurant shortly after 12pm. Two tables were reserved but not occupied.
The serve staff were polishing cutlery at the bar, taking up the serving space.
They served my drinks and table numbers in front of two ladies waiting to order next, which resulted in an embarrassing ‘excuse me’ shuffle for all of us.

The food arrived 35 minutes after ordering which was appalling due to the fact that we ordered a basic pizza and what turned out to be a pathetic platter
$25 of platter got us 4 pieces of bread, some crumbled cheese, 3 pickled onions, mustard 4 pieces of ham, 4 pieces of apple, and some pork crackling.

Stick to the $10 lunch menu, that seems to be about average

Caught up with friends at LBQ on a cold Saturday afternoon. Sadly, we missed the 2:00pm kitchen close-off for the lunch menu, but found the pizzas were still available. Excellent! Six of us scoffed about four of them, with beer battered fries (we were obviously not there for the health food) and it was enough. Pizzas were yummy: loved the spicy Italian-style one. Craft beers are the thing at LBQ, which I did not know as it was my first visit. Have to remember that for next time. Atmosphere was warm (some kind of fireplace there) with old couches and dark wood. A bit grungy looking. Cosy. Quiet. Nice on a winter weekend afternoon. Price was reasonable. I'll be back.

The atmosphere is really nice, cosy with a fireplace and nice ambience. Unfortunately it is always busy after work and it is hard to find a table. Had one of the platters recently and the quality of the platter was good, just a bit more bread/crackers would have been good.
However, went for lunch the other day and the food was below average. My so-called Gnocchi were rather potato-mash balls instead of the almost pasta-like firm gnocchi I know. Wrapped around were some spinach leaves and it all looked like a big mess made of seaweed and not very appealing. My friends burger was okay but the meat tasted very strong and unappetizing of beef (if that makes sense). The best thing of that lunch date were the fries that came with the burger, a whole bucket load it seemed.

Will go again for drinks but will not have cooked lunch/dinner again.

Went to Little Beer Quarter for a quiet thursday dinner. Very busy with many people having after work drinks. We were unsure whether it was table service or not, however after waiting at our table for 20 minutes for our orders to be taken we gave up waiting and went to the bar to order. Food took 30 minutes to arrive and there were very few others having dinner so this was rather dissapointing. However, food was good! filling and value for money. Nice cosy environment, perfect for a cold night when you're in need of some wholesome warm food

This place has an amazing beverage list with a whole lot of great beers, wines and even 'hoptails' - a beery take on cocktails. We had a really nice lunch also, my friend had the steak and stout pie with the corresponding beer match (cant remember what it was now!) and I had the chicken and haloumi salad, generous portion sizes and really tasty. Nice vibe, will definitely be back!

Good little restaurant. Had some of the appetisers, but mostly came for the beer and wine
