Beautiful food and amazing views and service! It was my first time here and the food was so good, we had dumplings, cauliflower special, lemongrass steak salad special and the lamb cutlets. Everything was yummy and had such good flavours. Staff were so friendly and attentive and I love the atmosphere. I only got photos of the specials which were the five spice cauliflower and lemongrass steak but it was all delicious. Definitely coming back! 😍💕

This place has been on the cards for a few years after they took over from the white house over 5 years ago (it was a long card) and we were happy with what they had on offer! The white house was a cosy, intimate homely house look, while pomelo had a beautiful modern look, open plan with nice big windows to look at the beautiful night view of oriental bay, one of the most romantic places we've dined at as a group! They were great at accommodating to our group, we had one allergy they tended to, and they changed up the portion size so we could each have a piece instead of fighting over 5 pieces between 7 ppl. We somehow ordered mostly deep fried small plates but they were well executed and not greasy, a light and crunchy texture with a nice flavour and/or sauce. What stood out to me the most were the deep fried mushroom (daily special), fried eggplant, the beef ribs, and their Panna Cotta. A very nice, no frills and no bombs, 7.5/10

Wonderful food, the chicken bites were amazing and the panna cotta was lovely. Great atmosphere with a really good view over the bay.

We went there for our anniversary dinner, we ordered the ceviche for small plate; the duck curry, both amazing, and the night's special which was also great! Service was also great, would go there again!

Nice punchy flavour. Once upstairs it’s lovely with a nice view over oriental bay at the front or a private table at Eve rear the bar. Lovely staff, loved the crispy soft shell crab, crispy chicken, beef short rib was drop off the bone tender and loaded with flavour. Highly recommend. Good selection of wines too

First time here, enjoyed my time. Lovely place and friendly staff. We got the table by the window overlooking Oriental Bay. As appetiser, we had the deep fried mushrooms which is not on the menu. It was very good! Crisp outer and juicy mushrooms. Yum! I had the duck curry with roti - mildly spicy with lovely roasted duck and juicy cherry tomatoes and lychees. Oh soo good! And had the beautifully presented coconut panna cotta as dessert. Wow! Would I recommend? Yes! Thanks for the lovely experience.

The food was delicious. Very friendly stuff and impeccable service. All the dishes we had were on point, the lamb is outstanding

This restaurant ticks all the boxes. Lovely ambiance with all tables having stunning views out to the bay. We had a wonderful waiter who was attentive but not intrusive. The menu offers a variety to suit most dietary needs with the focus on offering quality dishes vs quantity. The food was visually appealing and delicious and made with love. Very well priced and a great selection of wines. Will definitely be a repeat customer.

We had a birthday dinner there and the flavor of the food is so outstanding. We had soft shell crab, duck curry and braise beef, all are very yummy. The portion of the dishes are generous too. Service is great. I highly recommended pomelo if you want to give Asian fusion food a try! 😊

A good location to have a nice dinner. I liked raw fish dish with secret sauce and deep fried egg plant (sweet taste) was good too. Duck was too spicy for me. I couldn’t take a picture but tiger prawn salad was also recommended. Finish with ice cream trio was good way to conclude your meal. I deducted one star as the taste was bit strong but it is my own preference.

Wellington’s hidden gem! Truly a shame that more people don’t know about this restaurant because it is some of the best food that I’ve had in Wellington. Lovely atmosphere, stunning views and very friendly staff. Would highly recommend the red duck curry with the BEST Roti ever and can’t go wrong with any of the small plates as they are all delicious.

Easily the best restaurant in Wellington. Stunning views over oriental bay with an attentive and kind staff! Everything on the menu is delicious but if you can only try one thing (which would be a huge mistake) make it their duck curry, the sauce is fantastic and it’s the best duck I’ve eaten in my life!

Great fusion cuisine. It was very nice to meet the owner and chat about the food. Warm and friendly staff were very welcoming. Had a great experience on our anniversary dinner.

Saw the rating and decided to give it a try. I can confidently say this is the best fusion restraunt i have ever eaten at. And believe me, i live in singapore, which has tons of fusion food. Love this place. Although pricey, it is well worth it. tried the spring rolls, teriyaki fried chicken, duck curry, grilled salmon, lamb chops. Deserts, we tried all except the ice cream trio.

LOVED IT! Came to the area coz the cafe downstairs looked interesting but this place takes the crown. Fantastic customer service by Dylan, amazing food (soft crab shell was the best thing) and views in such a great atmosphere. It was a great way to start my trip in Wellington. Thanks so much! HIGHLY recommended :)

Great food and very friendly service. The view over Wellington Harbour makes it worth going in the day light. We had a fun birthday celebration and the restaurant was full and buzzing. It is quite noisy when full. One of our dishes got mixed up and they sensibly did not charge us for it. Highly recommended.

10/10 would recommend, the service was amazing, so welcoming & gave great recommendations & explained the menu in great detail. I ordered the salmon & it was divine, simple yet super tasty! Would also recommend the apple crumble cocktail! The view was also something else, very few restaurants look over oriental.

My dining experience at Pomelo was amazing! The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The decor and the atmosphere is modern and fresh. There was an extensive wine menu with plenty to choose from. Three of my fellow diners started with a Gin and Tonic while I chose Cava (a Spanish style champagne) and the other diner had a Strawberry Margarita. We chose small plates of soft shell crab, spring rolls and pork dumplings. For our main two of us had the Tiger Prawn salad, two had the Crispy Chicken, and a Yellow Chicken Curry with roti was ordered by the man in our group. Desserts that we ordered were a trio of ice cream and vanilla bean panna cotta. They did not disappoint. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our evening and look forward to coming back to try other dishes on the menu.

Arrived in a rainy cold night otherwise it would have a beautifull view look out from the restaurant.
Booked a table for 5, warm greetings from a lovely lady in the restaurant.
We didn't have any drinks coz others are not drinkers. We had raw fish and beef tataki for entrees, both use the same dressing made with fish sause, mango and pinespple. .. delicious, too busy to eat forgot to take photos.
For main we had lamb cutlet, pork, braised beef, salmon with noodle and duck curry.
Both beef and duck curry are good to go with rice, or curry with roti; the pork comes with Vietnamese style colesalw .. different kind of mix; salmon comes with Japanese cold noodle... for myself it may not be a choice for winter. All dishes are fusion but still keeping the original taste. . Well done!

Pomelo has alot to bring to the table with excellent food and a great venue. The views are excellent and has a nice homely feeling with wood and flowers around the place. The food is all very good and hits all the boxes when it comes to modern Asian food. The girls have done really well transitioning from a fish n chip shop to a upper market restraunt on the bay. I'd eaten most the menu and my favourites are the eggplants, spring rolls and dumplings. In terms of big plates it's always hard to pick between duck curry, pork or the braised Angus beef. Definitely give it a go

Came tonight for my partners birthday. Beautiful, relaxing place with great views of Oriental Beach. Our group ordered the ribs, crispy chicken, lamb cutlets and the pork belly with different sides. We all enjoyed our meals except two of the group didn't enjoy their sides of lotus fries. I was really hoping I could try the poached pear for dessert, but this was unavailable on the menu tonight. We got the panna cotta and chocolate cream cheese brownie and we all enjoyed our desserts. Service was top notch. Portion sizes are small for the price, you need to order sides separately to the main dish. I only managed to snap one pic.
