Quick friendly service, staff were lovely. Food was good, took away to eat at home but while waiting, the atmosphere was nice and casual. Got the seafood pizza and polenta fries, would eat there again :)

Easter Good Friday 2023 Still wonderful! Original Review November 2023, We headed up Cuba St, not really knowing what we wanted to eat, too many great venues to choose from. Having eaten a lot of Asian meals recently, I knew I didn't want anything too spicy & actually was craving a pasta. So Santeria Pizza & Pasta it was. Not being from Wellington, seeing a place busy on a Tuesday night is generally a good sign that the food must be good. Well, it was more than good, it was fast to the table & delicious. Those around us seemed to thoroughly enjoy their experience, too, which was lovely to see. Every box ticked here! Had great experience here. Busy as tonight, 2 for 1 pizza on Tuesdays and 2 for 1 pasta dishes on Wednesdays. Staff were onto it and friendly. Delicious pizza and the polenta chips were worth a try. Yummy! Warm friendly cosy vibe. Our server (dude with a beard, sorry didnt catch your name!) was very personable and made us feel most welcome and at ease. Will be going back.

Went there for the first time. Absolutely loved the classic margarita pizza! It was flavorful with just the right amount of cheese. Good wood fire pizza with light dough and not super crusty. Friendly staff, quick service, and they have outdoor seating as well. Highly recommend!

Definitely be back. Great service, good pizza and pasta. Only only downside would be is the don't really cater for the younger kids but they were happy to try! Definitely happy with whole experience.

The best gluten free and vegan cheese pizzas that we have ever had! The drinks were a great compliment to the entire menu! We could not get over how delicious the food was! If you're looking for a pizza night then you can go past here! Great atmosphere inside with a nice outdoor area with 2 large outdoor heaters to keep you warm in the cold

Amazing! We went to Santeria tonight for my fiancé's birthday and everything was perfect. Staff are so friendly and chill. My lamb gnocchi was 10/10. Can't wait to come back 😊

Nice space, with charming staff. Delicious thin crust pizzas - be warned they are large, so if getting sides I'd suggest sharing with friends; but they are very moreish so it's quite possible to munch your way through one entirely on your own 😄 I enjoyed seafood pizza and my companion loved her 'works' pizza. Polenta fries are an interesting change from the standard potato fries. Spent ~$90 for 2 including drinks

Is good but not amazing. The place is pretty cool has a good atmosphere is cozy and warm inside. They also have a backyard away from the oven, drinks are quite cheap. Now the pizza dough is ok, to be call pizzeria I was expecting more flavors and better dough thinner that I got. Topping looks like good quality except for the ham wich is just shaved ham, The cheese is best ingredient on the pizza. They do two sizes, medium and Large. Prices are in average.

One of my favourite pizza joints in Wellington. Awesome vibe, decor, nice outdoor area for sunny days and also cool nights, with a funky wood stove fire for heating outback. Pizza is always served in good time, perfect quality of crust. Great balance of toppings... Not sparing but not overloaded. Taste and quality is spot on and always consistent. Recommend to anyone who's after a relaxed atmosphere for pizza!

From my Facebook. If you are in Wellington NZ and in need of an excellent pizza I can strongly recommend Santeria in Upper Cuba St. Delicious. I often remember a pizza I had once in Venice. Yes I know pizzas are just pizzas but the light thin base and delicious topping always stayed with me. The one I had at Santeria made the same impression. Delightful staff too. I complemented the chef as I left. Charming jolly man who said he was Iraqi Syrian and had been in Wellington 20 years. And to my great delight spoke Aramaic.

I've bought a lot of pasta from different places but this has a unique flavour and has made my week. It tastes amazing and filling. It isn't too overpowering. It's creamy and tasty and I did not regret it.

Not very busy on a Sunday, means ordering and receiving food was fast and efficient along with the friendly service. We shared the Antipasto for two and a chicken and cranberry pizza and loved every bite of it! Will definitely be coming back again.

Me and my friend were craving some Italian food so we came to Santeria. My friend ordered the mushroom risotto and I ordered the smoked chicken and mushroom fettuccini. Her mushroom risotto was soft, creamy and flavourful. Mine however was good, but lacked quite a bit flavour. My only feedback is that the smoked chicken and mushroom fettuccini lacked quite a bit of salt and pepper, it was really bland. Both were good, but my friends dish was definitely my favourite dish tonight :)

Santeria Pizza and Pasta on Cuba Street is a fantastic Italian restaurant. They offer an excellent selection of vegetarian fare, and the service has always been friendly. Highly recommended for a great dining experience

Chocolate Pizza is lovely! Stuff are nice, The pizza have wooden flavours which is quite unique. Hands getting dark after have a few pieces. Will be there again, recommended😉

Love their pizza! My kids loved the chocolate pizza and Hawaii pizza. I loved my cranberry and chicken pizza. The cranberry sauce are so tasty and the cheese on the plaza are so creamy. We will be back for sure.

We had pizzas last night. Staff are friendly, place is good, and pizzas are excellent. They have variety of pizzas. We are sure that we will go there again soon. Recommended!

Our favorite pizza in Wellington. For the last 4 years we ate here often and it never disappointed us. Great menu, real piazza without sugar in the tomato sauce...as it should be. Always freshly made in this great oven. Highly recommended.

Got the student discount for the mushroom pizza and hand cut fries, it was simple and delicious. Ambiance and service was great. Staff are very friendly. Fully recommend and definitely coming back.

The pizza crust thin and crispy, the toppings ok, the flavour ok... not the best, not the worst... easy to eat... salad was well dressed and fresh... good service, and the smoky atmosphere is original and authentic... would go back without to much convincing!

Ordered takeout vegetarian pizza. The bases are nice, thin and crispy. There was the right amount of topping. Couldn't finish a large one so I had the rest of it for lunch today. It still tasted great and the base was still crispy. Reheated at 200 degrees on fan bake for 6 mins. Thoroughly recommend their pizzas.

Great atmosphere smoky wood fired oven smells just what you want from a place describing itself as such. Pizza with a beautiful hand made thin base and Italian style simplistic toppings. Molto bene!

Love this place! Great romantic atmosphere with candles on the tables and big pizza oven makes an amazing smell throughout the restaurant. The pizza base was super tasty and I love that you can choose a smaller size and create your own pizza. The chips with garlic were really nice and you're spoilt for choice with the dessert cabinet. <br/>The service is also great! Had such a lovely waitress who even remembered my order when i visited a month later! Definitely recommend

Went here on a wednesday for their $8 large pizza. We ordered 2 pizzas (margarita and peperoni) and side of chips. The pizzas were really nice but their chips was super oily. The service was very slow. We waited atleast 40 mins and it wasn't even busy. I would recommend this place especially to students on a wednesday night but not really on other days as they are a bit pricey for the amount of food and the service that you get.

Today ordered the non-vegetarian antipasto which had a generous portion of olives, sun-dried tomato, salami and ham. Next my friend and I choose chicken and cranberry pizzas. Although there was a small problem with the forgotten mozzarella, this was swiftly acted on by the Staff who were quick to offer a free drink on the house. Overall the environment was warm and ranchy while the food was piping hot and generously plentiful.

Went there for a pizza and beer Saturday evening before the movies. Sammie was great , service was fast , choice of beer and tastings very thoughtful and appreciated. The flat breads and dip were fantastic , unfortunately the margarita pizza was very disappointing . It was lacking flavour watery and flat. I would come back for the friendly fast service and good atmosphere and flatbreads but the pizza needs work . Julie

If you're looking for a definite gourmet pizza this is not the place, however if you're looking for a standard pub style pizza with great service then this the place for you! Lovely staff, quick meal but as I'm a bit of snob when it comes to my pizza ingredients (I like them very fresh) I won't be returning!

Pizza didn't show up. The WORST service ever, reserved a table at 7pm for 6 people, our order was taken at 7.20, drinks came fast and we enjoyed the atmosphere while waiting for our six large pizzas. The people on either side of us arrived after us, and were eating before us. I asked a waitress if our pizzas were on the way, she asked if we'd ordered four large pizzas and I said six large, and the team looked confused as they tried to work out what had happened but no one bothered to come tell us. I then asked the other waitress who took our order if the food would be far, unfortunately she didn't remember taking our order nor could she find it in her dockets and then went on folding napkins. We all stood up and no one came to tell us what was happening with our pizzas or apologize for the delay. I asked one of the guys making the pizzas if the docket had been perhaps lost or something, he replied "I have no idea, whaaaats happening" We all walked out and walked to Burger Fuel and ate at 9pm. Food was served within 5 minutes and was delicious! It was very disappointing service at Heaven. I would not go there again or recommend to anyone. A let down on a saturday night out with friends!

Have been here twice with my husband and 4 children and we have enjoyed the experience each time. The pizza is good (the last time I came, I had coffee too which was also quality) the staff are nice, prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. Will definitely return!

Not particularly good woodfired pizza. <br/><br/>I have been there a couple of times and the second experience confirmed my initial feelings about the place.<br/><br/>I would put up with the flies, and the waiting, and the poor customer service but the pizza base is stodgy and populated by an anemic amount of bland toppings. <br/><br/>I'm not exactly sure what happened as when they were located on the Kapiti Coast their pizza was exceptional

The best pizza in town. We went there when my partner and myself were starving. We had a coupon from the entertainment guide so got buy get one free pizza. We also had the flat bread with dips, a glass of wine and a beer. It was tasty and yum. My boyfriend said that the meat pizza was the best meat pizza he has ever had. I had the special: crispy crust, garlic base, meat and capsicum. So yum. The flat bread with dips was great as well. We WILL be going back even without a coupon!

I'm a huge pizza fan, not the yucky everyday delivery pizza but the delicious thin base real ingredient pizzas.<br/>And therefore, I am shocked to read some of these reviews.<br/><br/>Heaven Pizza has recently made top spot on my favorite pizza places list. Not only are the pizzas amazing, but the atmosphere is great too. Really enjoyable all around. <br/><br/>As for some of these price complaints... if you want cheap pizza go to Domino's... if you have taken the time to eat out at a nice place then an extra 3 dollars or so is no big deal. And in my opinion 100% worth it.

Won't be going back, waitress walked past me at least 5 times without at least a hello. Then she forgot the drinks, and we didn't get a knife and fork (yes some people like to have the choice of having a knife and fork) food was average lucky we had a voucher.

Id just done 12hours straight when I walked into Heaven looking for some lovely tasty good which would be reasonably priced. <br/>I had tried two other places on Cuba st but felt very self conscious walking in alone so almost gave up! So glad I didn't! I walked into a happy relaxed welcoming atmosphere late on Fri eve. The surroundings were beautiful, genuine and special, even down to the beaten copper lightshades. I ordered salmon pizza which is my personal treat for almost 20 years. Whilst waiting I had a jack and coke and was made to feel like one if the family. The feel of the place is relaxed and happy, you could stay in there for hours and not feel awkward!when my pizza was ready I felt a little sad to be leaving but surely I will return here every time I'm in Wellington. tHe salmon pizza is the best I've ever had, the base was a delicate, light, and perfect partner for the beautiful toppings. <br/>Well done guys. An awesome atmosphere, place, people and the best food. Even the desert I grabbed from the fridge was amazing. <br/>This is my new top place to eat.

Have been to Heaven three times now and have loved it every time! Great pizzas, awesome atmosphere and friendly staff. What more could you want?<br/><br/>Pizzas= Great range, all different types I've tried have been yummy; especially like the salmon pizza and the smoked chicken pizza.<br/><br/>Atmosphere= great music, lovely wood-fire smell, eclectic decor.. the list goes on!!<br/><br/>This last time we also had dessert (baklava and tiramisu). Were both very yummy as well.<br/><br/>Highly recommend!!

I really enjoy the pizza options from Heaven. Staff have been friendly on each of the four visits I have had there. Plenty of room on the large tables for families and groups to all sit and eat together. I enjoy the thin crust and full flavours I have received each visit.

Possibly one of the best pizza restaurants I have ever been to. On a school trip a few weeks back in Wellington and went to this place both nights, most of our group came the second night after we discovered it, because of the fantastic pizza and awesome service. Friendly, funny staff who are very welcoming. Great deals for students as well. Can see this place getting very popular - very quickly! Will be sure to drop in again next time I'm in Wellington and it is definitely worth checking out if you are looking for an all round great restaurant experience.

I have been coming to Heaven’s Pizza on a consistent basis (always on a Monday) because of the extremely friendly and helpful staff, the great food and awesome atmosphere. Always upon entry I am greeted with a friendly smile and given a menu and time to think about what I want. The music and vibe in the place is great and always puts me in a good mood. When you think about going out and having a good time this is EXACTLY what you can expect from Heaven Pizza. The service is more than above excellent and I am always asked whether I enjoyed my meal and so forth. There is a great selection of pizzas to choose from and accommodate for vegetarians and people who are gluten intolerant. Lastly, the vibe gives it a good dynamic. The music is always cool and the indoor/outdoor seating sets a nice feel to the place (especially with the vintage and reusable pieces throughout the restaurant). I would definitely recommend this place for a good night out!!

We dine relatively regularly, mostly late on Sunday night. The staff are always friendly and efficient. <br/>The food is always of the highest quality.<br/><br/>Last night, the lady did not notice us immediately, and as we were in no rush we waited until she finished what she was doing. When she noticed us, she was most apologetic and we all managed to have a good laugh about it. <br/><br/>I recommend the haloumi, pepperoni or magherita pizzas...all yum

Every time I have dined here I am never let down! The pizzas are beautifully cooked and packed with flavour! Although it may be pricey for the average Joe it is definitely a place to go for a special treat with friends and great atmosphere.

I caught up with a friend recently, we were both not feeling particularly rich, so wanted to make use of an Entertainment Book voucher - I suggested Heaven Pizza as there was a two-for-one pizza voucher in the book. I had also been once before with work - loved the pizza &amp; atmosphere. <br/><br/>My friend needed gluten free options so rang &amp; checked they did do gluten free before we went &amp; we checked with the waitress before ordering that it was OK to use the voucher, she advised yes. The owner was friendly and starting chatting to us as soon as we sat down. <br/><br/>We ordered wine &amp; two pizzas, one with a gluten free base. After waiting a while we asked if we could make both pizzas gluten free so we could share flavours, but they had run out of gluten free bases. Pizza was delicious, wine was a really good price. Music and vibes were awesome, after the meal we finished our wine outside by the open fire, the owner joined us for a brief chat and cigarette.<br/><br/>Upon leaving however, we went to pay and presented our voucher at the till, the owner made a joke about it being expired or not able to be used - we all laughed, he took the voucher, rang it all up and charged us. We went halves with eftpos and hadn't really added up the bill before paying but shortly after walking out we realised that we were charged full price with no discount applied for our voucher... we didn't want to make an embarrassing scene &amp; go back.<br/><br/>Pizza was nice, but we felt ripped off. Don't put vouchers in the Entertainment Book if you don't plan on actually giving the discount to your customers. Will not be going back or recommending Heaven Pizza anymore...

I give zero for this place and will never go there ever again.<br/><br/>I took my family there for dinner. Today is Wednesday and there were many students so they were busy. that is fine but the staff treated us invisible. No apologies and no attention. The owner was busy making pizza and being apologetic but if he hired one more staff it would have been different. <br/><br/>We sat at the table which still had dishes etc from previous customers. They didn't clean until we asked several times. I asked for water and staff, she pointed the fridge so I collected the jog. There was no glass and she didn't bother to say where I get the glasses. So I asked where the glasses are. The owner seemed bother with the obvious question. He pointed the one side where all the glasses We waited and ordered 3 small pizzas and waited for 43 mins. <br/>The pizzas are pricey and topping was mean. The size was small - just 4 pieces and paid $14.50.<br/><br/>When I went to the till to pay for the pizzas. The owner and staff didn't bother to say "sorry can you wait a bit? No way. Just pretend I wasn't there. Literally I was standing there for more than 5 mins. The staff (a young girl with blondy and Italian accent) didn't even look at me. So once again I was invisible. Finally the owner came and tried to organise the payment. I wanted to say something I simply decided I will never go there so what use? I just told him he needs to hire extra staff because staff were so busy so they didn't see customers as human beings but as tasks so they just tick it. However, he said he is sorry and he has big orders blar blar.. Please that is your f*cking business. Just noticing your customer and saying sorry and I will be there shortly doesn't cost you any... <br/><br/>* Customer service is ZERO<br/>* Price was high except student special which we didn't order<br/>* Still customer service is not existing.<br/><br/>So if you can wait for 40 mins and served $8.00 student special pizza and don't bother with customer service go there but if you want to have a decent customer service at good price and generous topping do never go there!!!<br/><br/>Heaven Pizza almost spoiled our family dine out experience.

LOVE Heaven pizza! definitely the best pizza in Wellington :) very tasty! heaps of choice, love all the pizzas, and the staff and the owner are really friendly and awesome :) I always get a take away because I live next door, and it is always great and yummy! I've eaten in once which was great too, definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a cosy place with yummy pizzas ! 5 stars!!

Best pizza in Wellington. Easily. My personal favorite is the chicken cranberry but the Garlic and Margarita and Hawaiian are also nice. I have been a lot to Heaven. Takeaways are quick which is good and the staff are nice but I did have issues when I went with a large group as they didn't seem to cope very well but overall I think the food is great and definitely worth a visit

6 of us came for a late lunch on a Sunday, we ordered quite a bit, a large pizza and some flatbread each. It was'nt cheap. <br/><br/>Everything didn't arrive too late, but it was more than 30 minutes. When the food did arrive it was mostly cold and there was barely enough room to fit on the table. <br/><br/>Then there were the flies. Lots and lots of flies because of the open doors and windows. Put as off the food for good.

Just ordered a couple of takeaway pizzas from Heaven. <br/><br/>We were really looking forward to a woodfired pizza, but aside from the crispy crust which was delicious,, the rest of the base was soggy and the toppings were bland. (unless the the taste of dried herbs which dominated everything is your cup of tea) <br/><br/>Friendly staff and service, but super disappointing food.

Went with a group of 15 for a celebration, booked in advance. The waitress was very patient in dealing with a large group of people who couldn't make up their minds. We thought 7 pizzas would be enough, but either they were a bit on the small side or we were particularly hungry, so we ordered another round of 3 more plus a dessert pizza (which I didn't get a chance to try). I was quite impressed that both rounds all arrived together, although I think some had just been waiting because they had cooled quite a bit, but not yet cold. <br/><br/>Flavourwise, the crusts are light, thin, and not greasy at all. The flip side is that they tended to be a bit dry, but others in the group tended to see this as a plus. I tend to like thicker crust pizzas, so it depends on your tastes. For me, the food was a 6, but for others it was probably an 8, so I've given it a 7 here.<br/><br/>The atmosphere was good. Background music wasn't too loud to prevent discussion and the place seemed lively.<br/><br/>The presentation was just average though. We were given a stack of plates only after asking for them, and then one was dirty and had to be sent back along with a request for more because we were given 12 plates for 15 people.<br/><br/>In the end, the waitress did a great job of keeping us fed and happy, with the food leaving us talking about it on the way home.

The best genuine service, fantastic rustic pizza and very realistic prices. We loved all the recycled and reused materials through out the space. All of these come together to make this wee gem a must in Wellington.

I love the pizzas they make here! They are simple yet delicious. I highly recommend making your own pizza with smoked chicken, jalapenos and BBQ sauce, delish! The staff are always super friendly and I love that they serve gelato too which is just the kind of dessert you feel like after eating a load of pizza.

I would not go back. The pizza is very good, but not good enough to offset the poor service. Our order was mixed up with another customers. These things happen we accept that. To make it right we were given cold pizza that the other customer eventually returned. The staff were not apologetic in any way. Maybe this was a one off, but we will not go back.

Heaven has a nice little outside area at the back, where we enjoyed a few beers before our pizzas came out. The pizzas are a decent size, and they all came out super hot and fresh. Although they missed the jalapenos that I had asked for on mine, they did make up for this by offering plenty of hot sauce.
