Everything was so delicious! A very delicious experience, I will come back for sure.

Amazingly generous servings. 3 men ordered 3 mains, and could not finish them. A doggy bag happily supplied. Also, I ordered a glass of wine and it was a generous pour. We recommend the Fish fillet with Spring Onion and soy sauce....so tasty and tender.

Had lunch at Majestic 7th June, highly recommended to book. Yumcha mainly at lunch time service but I like to be different & ordered off main menu that I'd already browsed online & knew what I wanted. Very Authentic decorations & atmosphere, really does feel that you're genuinely at a restaurant in Asia. Staff are extremely busy at service, so don't be offended if they're in a hurry as this also adds vibrancy to the very much authentic experience. We ordered Chive & prawn dumpling Prawn & pork dumpling Half roast duck Steamed pork belly with preserved vegetables Egg plant & pork mince. Are here in Wellington 4 nights & are planning on going back again & again Also went back for dinner service 2 nights later & had the Peking duck, worth every dollar, superb

Majestic is a must-visit for those craving delicious Chinese cuisine. The food here is bursting with authentic flavors and prepared with utmost care. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, from traditional favorites to unique specialties. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, perfect for family gatherings or casual meals. If you're in the mood for flavorful Chinese food, majestic is the place to go!

Been coming here frequently over the last 2 years. The food is always tasty, the atmosphere is nice and it is kid friendly. Service is attentive and courteous. The Yumcha dishes are decently priced and portioned well.

Good yumcha, proper service style and the food wasn't too bad either. Good for all group sizes, and best to come in early or make a reservation as it's hard to get seats for yumcha sometimes. Always get rice noodle rolls (cheung fun) 😋 and egg tart (dan tat) for dessert

Authentic taste of southern Chinese food, very friendly service, reasonable prices, big portion of food, absolutely delicious. Offer free soup before meal and fruits after meal, overall recommended!

Food is always delicious. My parents and I enjoy coming here for special occasions. We definitely recommend the beef sizzling hot plate.

A smaller more intimate dining experience. Food was tasty, good portions. Some dishes were a hit and some were a miss.

We came here for dinner last night with the family being my Mum in Law's 90th birthday.<br/>Being a Monday night the restaurant was extremely quiet. We felt we were the only people eating there all night. There was also a table of 5 people there but they were the owners friends and family.<br/>A total of seven courses was ordered being the usual fare which was plates of roast duck, steamed chicken, steamed blue cod fish in ginger and soya sauce, long life noodles, choysum vegetable, a tofu and pork dish, and a bowl of spicy prawns.<br/>All the food offered was ranged from quite nice to not-so-nice. Nothing really stood out in my opinion. Hence l scored it 3 out of 5 for food.<br/>The service we received wasn't especially good. There were two waiters there all night one of them being the owner l believe. What I hated to see was a fully messy table that no one bothered to clear all our empty dishes and bowls of bones and dirty tissues, etc. until where we were leaving. Other competitive Chinese restaurants in the area are generally much better in this respect. Hence I would scored it 2 out of 5 for service and comfort.<br/>I hope our experience would be better on our next visit here.<br/>

Always enjoy coming to Majestics. Great friendly service and reasonable prices. Food is fresh and delicious every time! This is our go to place when we have friends visit. Love the custard buns from here!

My sister and I really enjoyed the food. Ordered the sweet and sour chicken, crispy skin chicken, mango pudding and deep fried ice-cream. The restaurant is nice and cozy and the food was delicious, I especially enjoyed how the sweet and sour chicken was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.<br/><br/>Customer service was A++, thank you very much to the ladies who took our order and served the food, service with a smile and kindness!

First off it was busy to begin with so it took about 30 min for an available table, which we were prepared for. The food was ok could definitely be better since half of the food was lakewarm. Some food like the deep fried squid and custard tart was over done, fried for too long so when it gets cold it becomes hard to chow on. Some food like the was too spicy (chicken feet) too salty (dim sum) or no favours. The only time good might be that the smiling people with trays.

Went here for dinner with a group of friends and it was good. The menu variety was decent and prices were reasonable. The staffs were very helpful when it came to selecting menus.

Came for yum cha here today. It was packed and we had to wait 20 mins for a table which is normal for a weekend but the food was just underwhelming to say the least. A lot of it was lukewarm, clearly wasn’t fresh and there was very little flavour. It was disappointing and I don’t think I will be back unfortunately.

Love yum cha and have been having mad cravings for ages. Found this spot and thought "Yup!"<br/>Small and intimate, great dishes and options, friendly staff with more English speakers than any I've been too and accommodating to large groups because this was a Mothers Day service.<br/>Considering how much I know I can eat and how much I did eat, very good value.<br/>The rating is more of a 4.8 only because one of the servers spilt her "tray juice" on my leg when she walked past but other than that I will DEFINITELY be back.

Hemos comido bien, aunque nada excepcional, el salĂłn es como muchos de los restaurantes chinos...medio medio. El servicio bueno. Los Dimsum discretos, los he comido mejores.

We ordered a chicken fried rice, one chicken chow mein (hot), one chicken chow mein (no spice), one shredded chicken in schezuan sauce and a sweet corn chicken soup. That’s a lot of chicken!! Chicken was very juicy and all the dishes were very well prepared. The server recommended we cut down on our order as we were over ordering and rightly so! Awesome food, sumptuous portions, Great service, good ambience and value for money!

Went to have yum Cha with a friend on Sunday and we were very pleased with this place. Food were authentic easily beating the quality of many good Auckland yum Cha places. The price was moderate and service was really good.

We visited Majestic for Yum Cha on Chinese New Year. Very easy booking and reservation system, prompt seating, and friendly staff. Food was very fresh and tasty, coming out at regular intervals. A good variety of sweet and savoury options too. One of the best places for Yum Cha in the area.

One of my favs for lunch I have taken many a friend here and converted them to the absolutely delightful gastro tradition of YUMCHA đŸ™ŒđŸ»<br/>My favourites here are the squid, steamed pork buns, black bean pork ribs and the roast pork. <br/>I know most yuncha places serve all of the above but Majestic are continuous with their service and the food keeps on coming! <br/>Jasmine Tea is a must have and also the Bok choy with sweet sauce on it helps aid the digestion if all the friend goodness just consumed 😂

Nice and quiet place, friendly staff and prompt service. We hadn't even finished our dim sim before the mains arrived. One of the mains had a little black hair in it but it was sizzling so got eaten regardless. Chicken cashew and chicken peanut satay sizzling was really really good! Plus amazing durian ice cream balls! Yum!

Visited today as a group of three adults and two kids. Have been here before and the place hasn't changed in that its still inviting, cozy and the staff are nice and friendly. The dishes were delicious, had a wide range and while this is not the cheapest yum char, its certainly worth the extra few bucks once in a while. Would be happy to visit this spot again as a break from the usual!

Went there last Sunday with a bunch of friends. Was very busy but we could do bookings in advance and we got the place on time.. Good time management for a restaurant.<br/><br/>The food came continuously so we didn't have to wait for what we after. They have chili prawn dumplings which I recommend the most. Any other kind of dumplings are also spot on.<br/>Their fried squid was okay but overpowering. Need a little bit more of cooking and less seasoning.<br/>Love the custard and egg buns. Crispy on the outside and very moist inside. Well balance on flavour too.<br/><br/>Staff are okay, quite easy to interact and getting info on the food. <br/><br/>I would recommend this place for occasional Chinese brunch..

Best place for yum cha. Good service and food is awesome. Highly recommend anyone going with friends for a night out for dinner. Book or just show up

One of the better yum cha places in Wellington. Though the prices of the dishes are not the cheapest but relatively expensive you are paying for quality.<br/><br/>I would not say all yum cha dishes are top notch but there are certainly some good tasty dishes.  And one in particular that I enjoy is the durian mochi - Yes i understand durian is not for the faint hearted and not to everyones tastebuds but with the lack or limited cream inside makes it one of the better durian mochi that I have had.<br/><br/>Please visit my website for an indepth review of what we ate here.

Stock standard (as in pretty good) yum cha quality! For you Yum cha newbies get out of your comfort zone and try a new dish you normally wouldn't as thats half the fun! Enjoy!

Unforgettable memories. Been there twice or thrice in 2010. Still remember the chicken feet, chicken cartilage and the roasted duck. Very well decorated with excellent ambience and service. Excellent quality of food. Gorgeous with aroma and flavour.

Being regular group diners at Majestic we are never disappointed. We have dined or lunched there during quiet and busy times. I read with bewilderment some comments on service not to their expectation. No restaurants can anticipate the number of diners at any one time, and have to cope, that includes the kitchen staff. As a foodie who dine out often, I do not expect service to be tip top all the time. One needs to be patient to enjoy the meal. A little understanding of how hard it is to please everyone goes a long way to understanding the food trade. We are all in some form of trade or service. I challenge anyone who can say they please all their customers all the time. Waiting staff, too, are like all of us who would like to be addressed and spoken to politely, and you will get good polite service. As chinese restaurants mostly employ chinese speaking staff for obvious reasons English speaking diners must realize they are not always understood quickly. Patience, tolerance and politeness go a long to get what you want.<br/>I always get greeted with a big smile and served well every time anywhere simply because I return the same courtesy and ask to be served not demand it, by words or body language. I was once a waiter during my varsity years and I know how demanding the job is for a minimum wage. So, to those diners who want good service put yourselves in their shoes.<br/>Stroppy diners can expect stroppy service.

Very bad service and horrible food! Wasted our money going to this restaurant, 4 of us we were waiting a long time before we got severed. They were busy taking pictures with a group of people. Finally got seated and table wasn't even clean, the waiter or maitre D came to get the order and it was hurried. Then we had to wait for the food almost 40 minutes.<br/><br/>We thought must have been a busy day for them but we ordered two entrees and four main dishes. When the meals come the waiter brought the entrees and mains together. One of the orders was eggplant dish, it was more like a "eggplant soup" very watery.<br/><br/>When told the maitre D that this must have been a mistake that wasn't what we ordered. ''She said that others were eating the dish, we've had no complaints and she just walked off''. When it came to paying the bill she refused to deduct the eggplant dishes from the bill and she stared arguing with us and she stared getting angry with us. We just paid the bill without further embarrassment.

Went for a Sunday lunch Yum and Cha and we were very impressed. This my second visit and the first was was very good as well. However this must have been one of the best Yum Cha's I have been to recently.<br/>Our booking was ready on time and we were ushered to our seats by a very pleasant maitre D.<br/>We were very impressed by the service and their attention to detail although we had to call for more tea on several occasions. Delivery of the food was prompt and pleasantly presented.<br/>The quality and variety of the food was impressive. As a European Kiwi I was impressed by the chicken feet which were the best I have ever tasted! We were disappointed that there were so many interesting and yummy dishes that there was no way would could taste them all. Clearly we will have to return. <br/>The sweet dishes were an excellent end to this dining experience. The Duran 'tarts' were a particular hit!<br/>Top rating for an excellent experience.

I went to Majestic with my friend for Yum Cha lunch in the weekend. We did not have to wait for long to be seated. Food here was OK. However customer service was terrible. No staff was coming around to help us even though they saw us put our hand up. When they came around they were not polite at all, they did not even say yes or no to our request. It was the same story at the casher. After we paid they did not even say thanks or smile. I will never go back there again.

The young ladies who served us during lunch did not smile at all and looked like they hated working there. One was were really rude, and completely ignored me when I tried to ask her a question. Their yum cha (for the price and level of service) is not that good either. Have no intentions of going back there again soon.

Majestic has slowly improved their customer service over time. We frequent this place enough to see the general improvement in overall level of service. <br/><br/>The smaller tables are uncomfortably tiny and you have to watch out and avoid other diners when the place fills up.<br/><br/>For yum cha, there is a wide selection to choose from the usual suspects of steamed dishes, dumplings to deep fried dishes to some unique ones that you can't find easily elsewhere like the mango pudding and durian pastry. <br/><br/>Contrary to word on the street, Majestic is not the best place for yum cha, unless you have an Asian palette or ambitious with the choices offered. It will be a shock for some to read this but most diners who are not familiar with yum cha will play it safe with the fried chicken, BBQ pork, spring rolls or gai lan/Chinese broccoli. A good baseline is to ask yourself if you order the Phoenix Claws or the Beef Tripe. If the answer is a no, you are not missing much. The said generic dishes are available in other restaurants that taste better for cheaper.

I love this place, often go here with friends and get a selection of plates and share them, the entree selection is delicious especially!!! Love this place as it always has good food and the staff are lovely!

The star rating is predicated on the fact that Wellington just doesn't have much selection of really good dim sum/yum cha restaurants. <br/><br/>On the one hand you have Grand Century, which is mediocre at best with not much variety. There are also the other Asian-fusion type places like Ancestral or Dragon where there's just as much SE Asian influences. <br/><br/>For variety, freshness and taste I'd give Majestic the most stars out of the lot. I wish there were more traditional items like braised chicken feet or steamed/braised mixed offal or sticky rice with chicken wrapped in lotus leaves or even jellyfish salad. <br/><br/>However, this place does a good job to satisfy the dim sum craving whenever I have them (and I have them a lot).

Not too bad for yum cha, although not the best. Priced slightly higher than other yum cha alternatives in the city. And not as good

A group of ten had dinner at Majestic Cuisine last weekend. Having experienced their yum cha in the past, I thought I knew what to expect. Let's start with some positives: our entree of deep fried prawn balls featured tasty whole prawns and was delicious. We enjoyed the orange beef main dish and the chicken and black bean sauce was ok but nothing special. We had some very long waits for service; from sitting down, to finally catching someone's attention to ask for menus (one menu to share between ten people is a bit rough), to placing our order, then another half hour before entrees started arriving and a further wait for mains. In between all this, we tried to ask for water for the table; again, two glasses between ten people is just frustrating. I would say it's been a long time since this restaurant was actually majestic. The decor is tired with unsightly water stains on the ceiling. Too many chairs are crammed around the round tables meaning that there is barely enough space to negotiate all the dishes on the Lazy Susan and the noise levels were very high during dinner. In all, a costly meal for the quality and level of service. I'd possibly go back again for yum cha but not dinner.

Majestic Cuisine is the best place to have Yam Char(Chinese breakfast). Food is great and good service too - staffs are very friendly.

Majestic Cuisine is a relatively new Chinese Restaurant in Courtenay Place. It has really nice a-la-carte Chinese meals and its one of the best and tastiest Yum Char places in Wellington city. <br/><br/>However I feel that lately Majestic Cuisine lets itself down quite badly by the "uncaring attitude" of the lady-owner who always appears "so up-herself" and "so awfully snobby" whenever I go there. <br/><br/>Its "nice" to be greeted by a friendly smile when a paying customer walks into one's restaurant, don't you think?

A really good place to go for Yum Cha in Wellington. A wide range of food from steamed dim sims, to chicken feet (not that I touch those personally) to sweet rice, pork buns and a heap more - not to mention the endless Chinese tea.<br/><br/>If you are looking for a mixture of Chinese food to try, then Yum Cha is a really good option for a little of everything.<br/><br/>They say you can judge a good Asian restaurant by the number of Asians who dine there, this would have to be one of the best going by the number of Asians I have seen eating here.<br/><br/>One tip, it can get busy during weekend lunches - pays to book.
