Review Crumpet - Wellington

Excellent service from Caitlin! She was so knowledgeable and friendly and helped us to pick the perfect drinks. The cheese board was also banging and the perfect little drinking snack between two people! Definitely coming back. Also you must try their ginger syrup, so so so good

My husband loves crumpets so when I saw there's a restaurant who do crumpets we know we have to try it and it didn't disappoint. The place was a bit small but enough spaces the ambiance was warm and nice gives you a romantic feels. The service was intuitive and friendly. The quality of their crumpets puts shame to the rest of the crumpets it tasted fresh warm just the right crunch and chewy soft as you bite. The toppings worked so well we had the pineapple and cheese to the cold cuts and chutney they were delicious paired with the spritz and it was a match made in heaven. We also tried the cookie crumpet which is a bit average compared to the savoury ones nonetheless we had fun dining it was a great night to remember and we enjoyed the experience.

Cute spot. Be awesome in summer. Creative drinks and soft fluffy crumpets. Yum tried the warm drink called the Flompf (I admit I got it because if the cute name) was really different. Didn't hate it. Liked the staff and cool nude old pictures on the wall.

Probably the best bar in Wellington. Great bartenders with good banter and mixology skills. Menu is a bit of a shortcoming but it's all good. Get a crumpet

What a great little place! Super friendly staff, amazing atmosphere, even better drinks. Staff come to your table, ask for your preferences from the flavour wheel and then create a unique cocktail just for you. Delicious!

Popped in for a quick cocktail before the show. Hubby didn't want to order from menu so mixologist whipped him up something fab.

Once I got in, I was captured by the character set up in this pub& restaurant. Most of the deco photos have been selected well following the unique theme. Want to see some old classic nude women photo? Right place here. Want to find your style of cocktail? Right place here, it is more than a pub, it also offer you a attractive piece of unique gallery wall with large information. Here I am.

Beautiful custom cocktails for a reasonable price. Excellent service. One of my favourite places in Wellington for a drink.

This was a really adorable little spot for drinks. Really cute. The cocktail was nice. Nice vibe. I’d go back.

Used to come here when we could afford to. The drinks are expensive but they are custom tailored so that's to be expected. They really know how to create a cocktail you will personally love, provided you can answer their questions. Unfortunately, the food they provide is a lot more expensive than it should be, which deducts a point from what would have been 4stars.

One of the best cocktails I have ever had was in Crumpet. The interior is very unique in a classic sort of way and make the dining experience more enjoyable. Totally loved it!!!

Came here for cocktails and was blown over by the choice! I did flick through the box and got myself a cheeky green lady. Our table was very wonky and I was worried one misplaced elbow would have sent it shattering to the floor. The feel and (snobby word alert) ambience of this little bar is great. The music, pictures and attentive staff made it for me. I sadly didn't want any crumpets but I'd only want one covered in jam and butter anyway! Would recommend for a date with a difference or classy cocktails with a select few friends.

Took visiting friends out to Crumpet for cocktails this weekend. The service is fun, caring and they had a great selection and knowledge of what they were making for us. Loved the music, low lighting and cosy atmosphere.

I sometimes pop in for a coffee during the day and it's usually very peaceful. But I decided to check it out in the evening and it's so different! Was quite full when we came in tonight and because we were a little cold we decided on a mulled wine. Best mulled wine I've had to date! My mate ordered a sneaky crumpet on the side and said it was the best crumpet she'd ever had. I will have to try next time.
The music was cool and the general crowd at crumpet this evening had a certain hipstery flair.

So i was going to a show at the opera house and was very early so went into this place which is right next door. I was greeted straight away by a cheerful english lady and seated imidiately. I then proceeded to read the menu and started laughing at the food and qoutes in it as they were hilarious. I ordered soda, which i found out they make in house and sat drinking my lemonade (which was brought to me by a rather dapper gentleman waiter) and just enjoyed the atmosphere.

I highly reccomend this place. Great staff, great drinks and wickedly funny menu!!

This is far and away my favorite bar in Wellington. The staff go out of their way to make sure every drink is amazing, and are a wealth of information about everything they have on the shelf. Top notch.

Cute venue. Went there on a Friday night with friends who had been there before. No drinks list that we saw. Apparently you are best to order cocktails. Very hipster. Had a nice glass of wine as did everyone else. We all ordered crumpets. None of us could read the food menu as it was dark. Not sure whether this place is so exceptionally hip that you have to know what goes on here or what. Waitress was a bit ditzy. Bar staff amusing to watch making cocktails. Needs a bit of process re-engineering if they want to make any money as was entertaining to watch but one could easily die of thirst. Half the stuff we ordered wasn't on our bill. Goodness me. Good to be hip but you have to be able to run a business. If others weren't as honest as us one would wonder how long the place will last. I can now say I have been to a groovy hipster bar so can recommend such a thing to out of towners but really was a bit pretentious. Nice to see a different side of Wellington though.

We've visited Crumpet many times and love the fact that it is a little different from most of its neighbouring bars. The range of beers & wines is excellent and if you are after an interesting cocktail then you'll be delighted by the bar staff's expertise and care in preparing your drink. The décor is somewhere between Parisian bar and 1950's tea room and there's always interesting (often jazz) music playing in the background. The staff are friendly and very attentive. If you are after somewhere a little bit different and special then this is the place.

Stopped in for an afternoon cocktail and had a terrible experience. Bar staff were really snobby and have had much better elsewhere.

Congratulations Ian on coming tops in the barista competition! You have equal bragging rights with Renwick (bar-person of the year). But we already knew about Crumpet, don't need no prize to prove it's awesome coffee, awesome cocktails, awesome atmosphere. Highly recommended.

The coffee at Crumpet is Amazing, when you find a place you love, you always just want to keep going back.
The Baristas make such a smooth coffee that will tickle your taste-buds, put you on cloud 9, and leave a lovely aftertaste on your palette. This is why I go there, as I love my coffee and these guys know how to make it the best.
Their range of tasty crumpets are also beautiful, I highly recommend them and what they produce will make you feel great!

My wife and I love Crumpet. I'll swing past during the day for a coffee when I'm in town and they're consistently really good. My favourite thing about the place is going in and asking for a cocktail to match my mood. The guys nail it every time and bring out some new delicious concoction. Highly recommended!

Came in for a takeaway coffee while waiting for an event at the opera house. I initially thought it was a bit pretentious but ended up having a good chat to their barista.
Quite possibly the best coffee I have had in years! Perfect trim flat white - the milk was stretched so well that it tasted like full fat! Yum! I think they use fair trade coffee as well so big bonus points. I will continue to rave about this place.

for months I would look longingly out the bus window at the cutest little bar tucked into the side of the opera house. And then at last the stars converged and I found myself and my friends meeting up at Crumpet for a pre-show bite and drink. The eponymous food offerings were the first homemade crumpets I've ever tasted, and very nice too they were. Sweet and savory toppings such as banana and butterscotch or tomato mozzarella and basil completed the experience They also do a mean line in custom cocktails - just tell the bartender how you're feeling and he'll whip up a drink to suit. Super friendly and personal service, in an intimate space. Nice little place for a local.
