The yum yum flavour was really good, as was the chocolate. We were really impressed that it was made to order and we'll definitely be coming back again.

It really depends the type of gelato you like. Some (not all) flavours do run more on the creamy side. I really enjoy their fruity flavours:guava, mango and durian. Their matcha was too creamy for me as I do like a strong matcha. The gelato never feels too sweet. It's also great that they change flavours every now and then. The staff is also very friendly. You can feel that they enjoy working there. If you don't believe me just go there and try it. You can sample a few flavours before you commit to a full scope or two.

A good range of flavours - not too many to be overwhelming but enough to tempt you into an extra scoop. There are a couple of standard flavours thrown in with the more imaginative ones. And even a sorbet - if that's your thing. Something for everyone.
Waffle cones. Obviously. Or a cup if you are that way inclined (and I'm not judging).
There are some seats outside that are under cover or the Harbour is a skip and a jump if you want to soak up the view while you snarf up your treat.
Find an excuse and visit.

The gelato here never misses. I got yumyum (peanut and choc/caramel?) this time, and lemon, lime & bitters. Cone is delicious and crunchy. Every lick is a delight!! Just wish I could come here more often as I live in Auckland.... The only downside!!!

This is the place to go to on a sunny day when walking the Wellington waterfront. It just seems to be a habit. The only reason why I haven’t given them 5 stars is that at times they seem to be understaffed. The gelato is brilliant!

It was a big generous scoop of gelato but the blood orange flavour was a mix of bitterness and sweetness. struggled a bit to finish that scoop 😢

One of the best dark choc gelato ever!!!!! If you happen to visit wellington, dark choc gelato from gelissimo gelato is one of desserts you have tp try!! Gelissimo offer a huge variety of gelato flavoyrs. They even have some unique flavours: wasabi, miso. Price is very reasonable, 1 scoop only cost $5. Staff was also very friendly.

Absolutely gorgeous vegan icecream. It was a beautiful day when my friend and I traipsed in here after wandering around the anual dog show. I had found it from searching around for places with good vegan options. Im glad we stopped here. It was better than Lalale organics. Excellent customer service and nice to sit looking out to the wharf walkway and the beautiful day. I highly recommend this place!

Chocolate Gelato is to die for, Chai ice cream and after 8 are really good as well, chocolate gelato I couldn't get enough, so decadent and rich, perfect for chocoholics! portions are generous and service is quick

Good gelato. Stiff competition from Kaffee Eis who has stores all over central Wellington. Love how they got into the lights festival and made glow in the dark icecream! Would be great to hold more events like this to set them apart. Otherwise good not amazing flavour

Amazing Gelato went there last week with my friend there's so many flavors to chose from I also when when wellington had there light show on the waterfront and they had glow in the dark Gelato crazy but so cool such a good place to stop never disappoints

Visited here this afternoon in between queueing for treats at the Noodle market. 5 of us picked different flavours and no one was disappointed, I had the mint choc chip and enjoyed it. A good success rate if you ask me. Will definitely return and probably quite a lot when summer rolls around again.

It's a bit of a tradition with my team at work to celebrate our milestones and achievements with a trip to Gelissimo.<br/><br/>Great variety of standard and interesting mixes / flavours (eg: Cucumber!). I find them quite filling and rich but very tasty. I tend to get one scoop only. That's enough for me.<br/><br/>I've tried several varieties and they have all been very tasty. Recommended.

Such good gelato and sorbet! Really thick and flavourful - varied flavours and mostly all interesting but generic likability. Nice indoor area with bean bags and nice staff. Good place - cheapest gelato for size in Wellington too!

Kids and I always make this a stop when we go into the city for the day. Their ice cream flavors do vary, and sometimes you may not get what you ordered last time you went. But we have always enjoyed the flavors (and you can request to try before you get a scoop). They also do coffees.

Very busy on a sunny day considering it's waterfront location. The line moved quick though. Lots of choices of both Gelato and sorbet. I went for one of each. Both were good,really creamy.

The lime and mango sorbettos my wife and I ordered were absolutely beautiful! Smooth, creamy, fruity and tangy, the sorbettos were absolutely delicious. However, what really made our Gelissimo experience super was the service. The day we visited Gelissimo was a day Wellington was experiencing unusually high winds, they were so high that tables, chairs and signage were getting blown all over the Queens Wharf (this was a few weeks ago and on the news even tanker trucks had been blown over on the highways on the north island). We're not local so naively after ordering our sorbettos we went back outside the gelateria to eat the sorbettos - in the wind. Durgh! We promptly reentered the gelateria and stood there licking our sorbettos like fools. And then what did the staff do? They went outside into the winds, grabbed a table and chairs, brought them inside, seated us and made us comfortable. This NEVER happens in Sydney. People really don't care in Sydney. Ever. New Zealand wins on the thoughtfulness front. Well done Gelissimo!

Perfect gelato and sorbet! So many flavours to try. Everyone in our family has a different favourite. The wonderful serving staff let you try different flavours, and the owners are delightful. Lemon sorbet is the best! Mmmmmmm
