Review The Little Waffle Shop - Wellington

Ahmed Elsawaf
Very tasty waffles with a multitude of options. We all enjoyed our selections to the last piece. 😋 I wish them best of luck and may they get a more spacious store where they can provide some seating. Well deserved and greatly recommended.

I enjoyed the waffle!!! So good, I had the ooey gooey brownie oh man !!! That was so good, the waffle was crispy, the brownies were soft and moist plus the cream, the chocolate and caramel sauce was a top notch ! Just an idea maybe bananas or strawberries just to give it some freshness as it was pretty sweet and you just know everything was artificial. But it didn't matter to me as much, I was just reading others feed back. My partner got the fererror rocher i am sorry I can't spell it 🤣 but I wasn't a bit fan as it's extremely sweet and definitely has a taste of that specific chocolate, rich n sweet. My partner however devoured it and enjoyed every mouthful. Thankyou!😊

Small shop with lots of love. I went on a Wednesday and they had the 6$ special for Wednesdays which was full of chocolate and peanut butter.

Always a hit with the waffles from here. Would highly recommend the Black forest waffle it’s definitely my go to, and the cookies & cream was very good

First time here after dinner for a light desert snack. Enjoyed this. Best suited with I've cream and waffle can get dry.

Waffles so good they'll make you say "I can't wait to brush my teeth!" I had the "cheeky chocolate" and boy did I feel cheeky. If I'm honest, these guys are hell sweet, and I'm a huge sweet tooth so like watch out. Highly recommend though still!!
Adele Mostert
Very cute little shop. Waffles were delicious but perhaps a little overpriced for what you end up with.
Rico Dittrich
Yummiest waffles I've had in a long time. I chose the Black Forest one for affordable $8 and had a little chat with the guy. I had to stand in line to get these beauties. Very much fresh and prepared in front of you with "nomnom" homemade cream. Highly recommended!

Waffle of the week is definitely one of the better deals around. Light fluffy and made right in front of you, such a great find.

Great waffles, this where very soft, not like the Belgian style crispy ones. Creative recipes. I tried the freedom waffle and liked it quite a bit. Loved the decor on the small place. There was a line but it moved quickly. I think all waffles cost $8 dls. Great choice for late dinner or after drink food on Saturdays since they open pretty late.

The guy working here was amazing. So fast. So friendly and he genuinely seemed to be enjoying his job. It was super busy and there was a big queue and he said "this is the kind of night I live for" with a big smile on his face. The waffle was amazing. I got the flavour of the day - moro. The chocolate mousse alone would be enough to go bacl for. And the guy serving it was inspirational.

If you are in Wellington or live there, chances are you have definitely been here at least once. The shop is a small tucked-in space along Courtenay Place next to Burger King, very easy to spot.

Their waffles are amazing, fresh and made on the spot. The flavours are also original, there's a huge range to pick from and I like how they have a weekly-flavour to pick from, very creative. Additionally it isn't too expensive and good for its price.

This is a must-try.
8/10

Food:
Waffle of the Week: Neo-Waffle-Ton
Vanilla ice cream (they were out of chocolate), freeze dried strawberries, chocolate drops, berry compote, and a freshly made waffle.

It was pretty good for the price, and perfect size for two to share! We wish it was a bit crispier around the sides, but overall a great tasty sweet treat. Not too heavy either which always good when it comes to dessert.

Service was friendly. The staff member who served us that night reminded us of Awkafina - please take it as a compliment, we got super cool vibes off of you! Haha

Thanks for recommending some cool things for us to check out around the city.
We may be back 😉

#waffle #wellington #sweet #treat #chocolate #strawberry #NZ

Took a few friends who had never been before last night and they loved it! friendly staff, short wait and great waffles. Definitely a must go to place for me when i’m in town!

Cute waffle shop on a busy street in Te Aro. Super generous with the toppings and the waffles were cooked just right 👌🏼 large menu considering it’s such a small shop! A minor feedback would be to somehow change the presentation - it was a bit messy to eat since we had to eat and walk as there were no tables around. Nonetheless, would recommend as an after-meal dessert!
Tarun Parmar
Cute little place. Nice waffles lots to choose from.
We randomly walked past and saw a huge line of people waiting to get waffles, which also amused us to wait in line. Strongly recommend to visit and try there waffles

This place is soooo cute! 😍 cute little set up, colour scheme and the menu looks amazing! I would need to come here over 10 times just to try every flavour. The lemon meringue pie looks gorgeous. Perhaps a little sweet but still good. And very photogenic. Would love to come here again.

I travel around 10kms only for these waffles at any point of time.. they are such an amazing thing to treat yourself at the end of any day..
Oriental Doll
Yummy! We walked 2km just to reach this hidden gem in Wellington central and we were not disappointed with the flavors. I had the snickers waffle and omg i was so happy that i get to choose the best out of all. If not for the price which is a little bit steep, I would rate this a 5/5.
James Ong
Last time I had the lemon meringue waffle, the waffle was burnt and there wasn't even lemon meringue sauce on it to count as truly value for money.
Mercy
Very cute little store that can be easily missed. We ordered the cookies and cream waffles. The waffles were VERY crispy and there was a generous amount of Oreo crumbs and whipped cream. The whipped cream definitely sealed the deal for me as it complimented the waffles perfectly. The only downside was the price was a bit steep. Otherwise this is a solid 10/10.

Can’t go past freshly made waffles - the service is great and price is reasonable. Shared the hazelnut and the almond ones with my mate. Will be back again.

This little shack never fails! The queues are worth the wait and the wait is never outrageously long. Their snickers waffle is my fave, highly recommend this place!

Food: 🌟🌟🌟🌟
We enjoyed these freshly made on the spot waffles which was easily accommodated to our dietary requirements.

Service: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Very friendly and personable staff. We did not have to wait long for the waffles to be made.

Price: 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Fairly reasonably priced with large portion sizes.
Enjoyed the Cheeky Chocolate and Berrylicious Waffles
Very fresh ingredients and cream
I will definitely come back with the family and try more choices on the menu
Pamela Howard
Definitely the best waffles in the city, however there is always a large queue taking up the footpath as well as just being a long wait for your turn, and the orders themselves take about 10-20 minutes for just one waffle. The containers to take-away are flimsy and just not suitable for a to-go hole-in-the-wall in windy Wellington.
Shirley Yu
The best waffle ever had!
We got six people and we ordered three different favors. All of them were perfect. The toppings were served in good proportions and it perfectly matched with the hot waffle.
If you like sweet treats, don't forget to try cookies&cream. Sweet cheek is also a never-wrong try.

The snickers waffle hands down was bloody delicious. Cute little shop. It does get quite busy some nights, so be prepared to wait, it won't disappoint

Cute cosy stall. Friendly staff. Awesome delicious waffles. Home made white chocolate sauce...yum. Picture is of cookies and cream. Yumm!!! Will be back for more next time we are in Wellington.
Winnie
Thin. Crispy. Loaded with toppings. Amazing. Wish you wanting more.
In the pics: Passionfruit waffle, Snickers waffle. Both equally amazing in their own.

Pricewise: $8
Returns: Everytime I visit Wellington

A long way walk to find this little place tucked beside a burger fast food chain, we walk right past it the first time. With about limited selection of choices, we ended up with the PB&J as the rest sounds overly sweet. There were others who ordered before us and seems like the popular flavour is the choc. Got our waffles within 8 minutes of waiting, the waffle was hot but it wasn't as nice as we had anticipated. The berry compote doesn't go well with the caramel sauce. Surely there's better waffle place out there..
The Food Snob
The waffles here are absolutely banger and I am not surprised to see the queues they cultivate on Friday evenings. A big wack of sugary goodness, and really friendly staff make this one of the sweetest holes in the wall in Wellington. Good price for portion. I know I couldn't finish mine and floated down Courtney Place high as a kite on a choc-peanut-whipped bender.
Christian
Overall, the waffle was nicely favoured although I did find it's a bit small for 8 dollars. Also, trying to keep waffles warm on the street on a windy Wellington night was a bit challenging.
Rebecca
How good can waffles be? Pretty good actually. Even better it doesn't come with the price shock most things do in ANZ. The rocket road was sweet enough for me, apparently the snickers is most popular
Abhi Sudhan
I am a huge fan of this place!! Used to love it a lot but past few experiences were not so good. After few burnt waffles, no cream waffle and no weekly spl waffle, I have reduced going there. The staff used to be friendly and chatty, not anymore. Still a good place to stop by for yummy waffles! :)
Kayleigh
Been there with my partner twice we've tried four different ones. All have been exceptional. We paid $7 for each one. Service was fast and friendly. Clearly advertised deals, one of which was a baileys cheese cake waffle!
Bopnbeep
Holy moly what a decadent treat! Had the caramel cookie crumble with was cooked hot and fresh with a generous topping topping of Oreo crumbs and sticky sweet caramel sauce. It was delicious and I can't wait to go back and try acnother flavour!

HOT DIGGITY! I was definitely lucky with the Lovely Louise waffle today. It's a spin off on the wonderful Louise slice and gosh darnit it's good! I was expecting it to be overly sweet but it is well balanced and wonderfully moorish. Louise comes with a generous drizzle of berry compote that fills the giant squares of waffle. The compote has a subtle tartness to it, which goes perfectly with the fluffy dollops of meringue goodness. These edible clouds are lightly kissed with a flame, and then the entire waffle is given a sprinkle with toasted coconut threads, and powdered sugar. 😍 GEEZ LOUISE! I'm in LOVE!

I went here late on a Friday night and expected it to take a little longer than normal... Not an hour though, especially when there were only 2 people ahead of me who both ordered at the same time. The guy in the stand made 3 other waffles and put them aside before even giving me mine and then continued to muck around even longer before serving me and putting toppings on my waffle- leaving my waffle probably as cold as the others he put aside. This would have been appropriate if I was drunk, however I was sober and just wanted a damned waffle. I chose the peaches and cream, it was good. The cream was fresh. Could have done with a bit more of the White chocolate sauce though. I'm a bit torn whether to go back or not though since the service the first time was shocking and has put me off. I wouldn't pay $7 again for no service and an above par waffle.
A Tale Of Two Tummies
Food ordered:
Cheeky Chocolate Waffle

Bill: $7

Big tummy: Holy mother of waffles... this is what I am talking about! An absolute hidden gem, buried in the heart of Wellington. How this place hasn't branched out into Auckland is an utter mystery and an even bigger heartbreak for Aucklanders. I can honestly say that I have never ever discovered waffles cooked so perfectly (they are freshly cooked right there in front of you). Generously served with your choice of toppings, they are just pure heaven in the form of a waffle. Even with super rich chocolate smothered decadently over a freshly cooked waffle, TLW is smart enough to also put just enough whipped cream to cut through the richness and sweetness. The presentation is immaculate and the service is super friendly too. The only negative is that they aren't up in Auckland... how are we supposed to go on about our daily lives having to live in wonder of what their other toppings would be like?? Seriously, if this placed open up in Aucks, it would put some of our go-to dessert places to shame. A very well-deserved 5 in my books.

Little tummy: We were looking for a place for dinner and I couldn't help but notice a small gaggle of girls outside this little booth. After dining at a nearby restaurant, I asked my bf to buy me a waffle from this place. He said he was chocka full, but he agreed to buy me one. Once he saw the waffle he quickly changed his mind over how full he was - the waffles are here are like small slabs of heaven dropped from the sky. The waffle itself is cooked right in front of you - so when you get it, it is still soft and doughy. The home-made chocolate sauce is just insanely good, with the extra toppings of chocolate drops and whipped cream just adding to the goodness. Honest to God, I wish this place opened up in Auckland. All of their flavours look amazing... I just wish I could've tried them all!

I decided that we must go here long before we even entered the country. After dinner we decided tonight was the night! Cute little window, the menu had just enough variety. I was very pleased to see they make the waffles to order - yes made from scratch! I had the Lemon Meringue and hubby had the snickers. The lemon curd was so yummy with the warm fresh waffle, and just enough meringue. The size was decent and packaging was convenient enough to eat out of. Hubby said the snickers waffle was tasty. The only downside was there was no where to sit down and eat, but that didn't dampen the experience at all. I also love that they do a flavour of the week. Yum!!

Glad to finally try this place out! We had a 2 for 1 card from Chow so it was a great deal. Chose the peaches and cream, snickers, caramel cookie, and cheeky chocolate waffles which were delicious.
Jess
Great waffle really. But had the worst customer service ever. I took sometime choosing what I wanted but there was noone waiting. I ordered a snickers waffle and as usual, the lady wrote down what I ordered on the waffle paper dish - only to find out later she wrote "wow" on it.... I dont see any correlation between snickers and wow, and thinking about it now, that is seriously rude. She told me to "move and wait for her to call me". Two girls came after me, they were greeted very well and their orders came out before mine..... If I wasnt with my husband, I would have said something so she should consider herself lucky.

I’m pleased to say I finally had a waffle from the little waffle shop! What an absolutely adorable little place! I ordered the rocky road waffle which was made right before my eyes, and was topped with crushed peanuts, chocolate sauce, mini marshmallows and a light dusting of icing sugar. I really enjoyed the waffle, it was light and fluffy on the inside and slightly chewy on the outside. I would have loved a scoop of vanilla ice cream to go with the waffle as the peanuts and marshmallows made for quite a dry mouth feel. Another suggestion would be to have the chocolate sauce hot! This place is very popular and a must-do if in Wellington, slight tweaks would make it a 5/5.
Adeline
Nice flavours- got th salted caramel, lemon meringue and choc. The meringue was a bit too sweet but the waffle itself was tasty. The waffles taste best when warm.

The one stop shop for your waffle fix. The snickers one is my favourite and the lemon meringue is good too. Always ask them to get it a bit well done so it's crispy or sometimes it's a bit soggy and gets cold fast with the Wellington wind.

perfect waffles. Sweetness is just right but when i was down to the last bites it was too rich for me. Thumbs up for the friendly staff as well. PLEASE OPEN IN AUCKLAND. Hands down best waffles in welly as well as price wise

We have been here a lot and the waffles are usually fantastic but last time not so good. Not sure why, or maybe I just eat here too often! Great if you have a sweet tooth and a fun cute place to visit.

Love this little place! I've had many waffles from here in the past two years but my most recent trip has by far been the best.

In the past I've ordered the cheeky chocolate and the caramel cookie crumble waffles which were both really good. But this time I went with the rocky road waffle which was amazing and I will definitely be returning to get this waffle again asap!

I'm such a sweet tooth so I really love this shop. Only downside is that there's nowhere to sit and eat them as eating them is rather difficult if you don't have a table. Other than that, I highly recommend 😋

On #WaffleWednesdays, there is no better place to be than at @thelittlewaffleshop in #Wellington! The waffles were perfectly cooked & very flavourful! I wish they would add a few healthy options to their menu so I could eat it more often!
Samantha Lines
The guy making our waffle was so chipper! It was a real treat I orders and peaches and cream and my boyfriend had a cookie and caramel crumble. Luckily we're staying just around the corner cos they're quite tricky to eat walking around.
For $7 this waffle was definitely worth it. The waffle was a generous size, tasty and hot. I would definitely go back for dessert any night of the week. This is a great place to grab dessert if you've made dinner at home and want something sweet or you're on your way to something in the city.
The special on the board looked fantastic too and I'd love to pop in to try it before our holiday ends.

If you are wellington and you haven't been to this cute little waffle shop ahh than u haven't seen wellington properly. Its one of the icon of Wellington seven different types of waffle to tempt your taste buds. Each one is worth trying. Yummmmy and chocolaty are the two word that reminds me of this great hangout place.
Jessica Teasdale
Had the snickers waffles today! I love that they've updated their menu to add more variety.

My sweet tooth is always satisfied when I come here! Although I would like more chocolate/ caramel sauce as I really like it to be quite covered. Warming up the chocolate/ caramel sauces would be really yum!

The Little Waffle Shop has turned itself into a Wellington icon in such a small amount of time. It's no surprise - waffles should be one of the main food groups - for reals.

I've had several of their offerings over a wee while, each as delicious as the other. Definitely recommend the Sweet Passion and Amazing Apple, both have a rad tartness to them when contrasts against the super sweet waffle. If you have a super sweet tooth, like my partner, he total recommends the Cheeky Chocolate.

I can honestly say that I've never had a had waffle from here. I guess it helps that every waffle I've had had been covered in cream and often nuts or sprinkles. When I have arrived and they have run out of ingredients, I have been recommended something that would taste equally as awesome, and I've agreed each time.
The downside to a shop on the side walk is having to wait in the cold until the waffle is ready. Which during a busy time, often makes you want to rethink standing in line for 10minutes.
Jess Dunne
TLDR; The Little Waffle Shop is life.

I always thought I didn't like waffles, turns out I just hadn't tried a good one. The Little Waffle Shop changed that.

Their flavours are the best in town. The snickers waffle is next level delicious! I'm so glad it has been added to the regular menu. I'd also highly recommend the rocky road. Fear not if chocolate isn't your thing - they have lemon meringue, berry and caramel flavours which are all just as good!

Every week they do a different special which is $5 on Waffle Wednesday. Such value! The other week it was jelly tip flavoured and honestly it was better than the ice block.

The line can be long but the service is really efficient so it never takes too long to get to the front. And in the end it is totally worth it. Consistently great tasting and the service is always friendly. Don't forget to pick up a loyalty card - every 8th waffle is free!
Dani Pohlod
Maybe I'm a little too clumsy but I found it a bit awkward to eat the waffles on the go. There's no seating area, so I had to find a table somewhere. The waffle and toppings were good, very fluffy and light waffle, great for a sweet fix. I ordered the lemon meringue pie, highly recommended.
Friendly staff. GENEROUS amount of jam (i am not kidding) but not so much with the cookies :( and we think the waffles are a bit burnt though
