Great coffee. Great food. We came for Saturday breakfast. We were passing by and saw the name so went in. All staff were really friendly. And your table “number” is a plastic animal. One day, we had the lion. 🦁 The next day we came just for coffee and had the Batman. 🦇 warm and welcoming. Cheers!

Excellent place for breakfast in Wellington. It was difficult to find open places during the weekend (most of the high rated cafés and bakeries were closed) and we were glad to find this cozy place.

I've started going here a couple of times a day and it's great. Even if it wasn't directly below my office, I'd still prefer it over most of the other options on Willis/Victoria Street. Coffee is great (Havana) and you never have to wait for long. The food is fresh and tasty, with prices being typical for a CBD coffee shop. The staff are friendly and chill.

A small little cafe that serves both food and drinks. The grilled sandwiches are particularly good. This is a good place to rest up before continuing your trek though the city or to grab a quick lunch. I'd highly recommend coming here at least once during your stay in wellington. Outside seating is available but limited so keep that in mind.

I get my daily coffee here, great coffee, great atmosphere gets busy that is a sign that its good place. Can get little noisy if you want to have a meeting later in the day. Great lunch or breakfast place, keep going back

Great coffee & food. Excellent service! I wanted the eggs Benedict & a side of bacon, and they offered to swap the ham in the Benedict for bacon which was ideal and saved me $. Definitely be back!

I come here quite often to have a coffee and a muffin, they have a deal for $6 and always come for that but they do run out and I remember going about 11 and couldn’t get the deal anymore. But a really good place to sit at and the staff are lovely too

Attended for a business breakfast, the food and coffee were great only minor issue was that we were seated at a long table surrounded by people awaiting takeaway coffee so conversation was difficult

Very cool little location down an alley way off Willis. The place has a little bit of character because of the Gotham theme. But it is a bit dark for my personal liking. However the food was really good, I got the BLT sandwich and it was worth the $13.5 I paid as the size was very decent. The services was really good, the staff were fun and professional at the same time

Planning to get a quick breakfast but it took 20 minutes before my food arrived. I ordered Eggs Benedict and they're flexible to change from ham to bacon. Good portion of food, reasonable price and friendly staff.

Very friendly service when I arrived. Ordered eggs bene with Salmon and a flat white. Very quick service. Good coffee how I like it and the food was good. Lovely salmon, perfectly cooked eyes and nice homemade holandaise sauce.

Gotham's coffee is definitely not up to the standard of most cafes in Wellington and above average priced. However it is in a great central location.

I recently discovered Gotham and have really enjoyed going here. Their coffees are consistently good, prices are reasonable and staff are friendly. The cafe also has fastr free wifi that worked well doing a website presentation on 4 devices! Would definitely recommend Gotham for anyone nearby.

Worst meal ever. Came to Gotham for lunch and ordered the Gotham biggie with a side of hollandaise. The eggs were over cooked, bacon was burnt to a crisp to the point where it was hard and inedible, everything was cold and the hollandaise just tastes like butter and nothing else. Only mildly edible thing was the Kransky. After informing the staff of this, I still had to pay for half the meal, even though the only thing eaten was the Kransky. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

I'm sitting on the fence with Gotham, I am unsure whether or not I like it or dislike it. The coffee was below average, whereas the food/nibbles were slightly above average. Prices were reasonable and staff seemed slightly distracted but cheerful. I would go again, for the food but next time i might try and sneak in a coffee from else where.

Only bought take away, but my Swiss roll are done properly + absolutely delish! My coffee is just right! Guys there are awesome and nice! I would love to spend some time to read through the Batman Handbook! Interesting aye!

I've been to Gotham quite a few times. Their coffee and food is pretty good! Good variety too and cool decor although it can be a bit dark in there. Me and my friends feel comfortable spending time there.

Slightly over-hyped. Inside is pretty ordinary unless you get the sofa, or the table upstairs at the back. Coffees were OK but not outstanding; cakes (friand & plum slice) were average, & they're a bit mean with the cream. Not a bad place, but nothing that made me go 'wow'.

Not gonna lie, we were attracted by the name. The decor is amazing. They've created outlines of city buildings inside and they give you an animal instead of a number to take to your table. The staff were super friendly with smiles plastered on their faces and an easy manner with the customers. I felt instantly at ease. We only stopped for a cold drink and a coffee. My coffee was small for the price but it was really good. No sugar needed, it was smooth and I wasn't treated like a freak when I asked for a single shot. The food that passed us looked amazing and smelt even better. I was a little sad we weren't there for lunch but we were just stopped off before heading to the airport. Next time we're in Wellington, I'm going to make Gotham one of my first stops.

Went here for breakfast on a Saturday. The atmosphere was nice, and the staff were really friendly. Also a pretty nice location. I'd say come here if you need fuel for a big day out! Food I had scrambled eggs on toast with bacon and hashbrowns. Overall I'd say it was nothing special, but they certainly gave us a lot of food for the price. My friends had some of the breakfast rolls/english muffins and the BLT, which they both liked. Coffee Pretty good coffee, I had a flat white.

Lunch today:- I wouldn't complain, but I wouldn't rave either. I ended up just having the orange and macadamia slice which was nice. I wasn't too impressed when my Earl Grey came out with no milk, picky I know but, maybe it should be a give-in, for milk on the side (shrug)? Although, my chai-latte-loving-friend said her's was "the best one she has had ever!" Not a great atmosphere but good enough for a quick coffee.

Have only eaten here for breakfast and it is very pleasant, I would say that Gotham has the best bacon in town. Coffee is also on the better side of acceptable.

Not a bad experience, but didn't wow me. Food was average, service was fine, decor felt moody (which I liked), coffee was ok. I had the BLT which was ok - too much mesculan and the tomato was cut in segments which made it a bit hard to eat.

Nice hot chocolate here with well portioned food. Seating is not too comfortable unless you are in the booth seats. Glass of water wasn't served.

Got the big breakfast, hash brown, bacon and kransky were absolutely murdered. The only good thing about it was the sourdough. Coffee was served cold. Not a good experience, wouldn't recommend

Ordered a coffee and cinnamon scroll - a few things mediocre about today's experience - 1. The cinnamon scroll was dry and gritty even though it was heated and should have been gooey 2. The customer service, while nice and by no means rude, felt forced and I felt more like an annoyance than a paying customer at times - like when the barista complained to the till operator that she wanted to go home right in front of customers!

Consistently good coffee, reliable food for a breakfast/lunch. The counter food is great quality and works well for a quick meeting/business lunch. I met at US client for lunch here in August and he was suitably impressed with the food and service. Cool environment. Good relaxed service, staff are friendly and professional. Definitely in the top tier of Wellington cafes.

We went for dinner here mid week on a voucher. The service was excellent i.e. prompt furthermore the staff were engaging with our 5 year old. The environment itself is quite urban cool too. I was very impressed with the quality and quanity of the fries for $4. Unfortunately the mains were not up to the same standard as the staff and environment. The $32 steak I had was too expensive for what it was. My wife said her main of Quesadillas were ordinary. The desserts were better and we enjoyed them. We would return for coffee but not for any mains [unless something changes]. Excellent service and atmosphere. Good to see a good range of Phoenix organic juices too.

Food was nice, but I thought $33 for a steak was really steep. I had the buffalo wings, which were not crispy but instead seemed roasted and then a sauce added after cooking.... not what you'd expect. Apart from that, good staff and nice ambience.

We had breakfast at Gotham - a good range of menu and cabinet items, newspapers and magazines. The friendly service was a particular highlight. The only low-point was the expensive coffee - $4 for a long black, when places like Prefab have set the benchmark for Wellington at $2.50, was very steep. Will return for the food and the service, but may forego the coffee next time.

I've had lunch a few times at Gotham and I've never been disappointed, the paninis are the always good, well filled and never over cooked. The coffee is first class and served quickly with a smile, definitely worth a visit.

Went to Gotham for dinner recently. Service was really GREAT, the lady was lovely to us! The food wasn't anything speacial though. Tortilla chips were deep fried and fatty as and the fajitas were something I could have cooked at home less some of the oil!! Friends weren't that impressed with their meals either.

It is incredible that in Wellington, Gotham is one of only about 3 places that you can get consistently GREAT coffee. The "part in your mouth' slice must be illegal - everything that good usually is! I love that the staff are, without fail, friendly, helpful, and in good moods. I make sure all my 'let's do coffee's ' are there!
