Should be 3.5 stars. Located in the centre of the Wellington shopping district it's a small single floor premises on the ground floor. A small kitchen produces breakfast / brunch type meals.
A barista has coffee on hand.
No parking or toilets lets it down.
Tried to get the free wifi but my French waitress was.not adept at English.and could.not explain the complicated manner to logon via the company's website.

Ignore the corporate look, this branch is a step ahead of most. Lovely attitude of the staff and who wouldn't want a cup delivered like this?

Good coffee ☕ so far the only café with power points on the wall! So useful for guests who may need to charge for their phones. When borders are open the tourists will love it!

Quick, polite service. Excellent coffee. Food is also good but, like most cafes in Wellington, a bit expensive. Can be a bit noisy if busy but still possible to have a conversation. Has nationwide rewards programme with bonus rewards informed by email.

The "paleo breakfast" is the BEST breakfast. Salmon, tomato, avocado, two poached eggs, mushroom. Just delicious!
The only thing I didn't like was the music. It was too loud for 8:30am and I'm not sure Evanescence is really cafe music

Absolutely loved this place for my morning hot chocolate / coffee and breakfast. Grilled sandwiches and veg lasagnia are my absolute favorite, love the ambience and centrally located, very neat and tidy and customer service is excellent, great spot to relax if shopping in the city

The Staff here are always super amazing. There menu food is a little overpriced, and can be a bit hit and miss. But for consistently good coffee and lovely Staff, totally worth the occasional "miss"!

There's really nothing I can fault about this place. Fantastic drinks, amazing staff particularly the well presented male at the counter this morning. It's so nice to be able to conversate with staff naturally. Food and drinks came out super quick and all were enjoyable.

Ordered mushroom on toast for 18.50. It tasted like they microwaved the mushrooms in water. Definitely would recommend against coming here for the food

A single shot of coffee in a flat white? In Wellington? Haha this has got to be one of the last places in our little city that thinks this is ok.... I'm not a coffee snob but I dont want to pay five bucks for a cup of warm milk, my work place lets me have that for free.

Stopped by for a quick breakfast on a Sunday morning, and ordered a salmon eggs benedict. I was told that the kitchen was really busy and it would be a 15 min wait, but the staff were really nice and friendly, so that made up for it. <br/><br/>When my meal arrived, I was disappointed at the portion size. For $18.50, I had two small pieces of ciabatta with two sad leaves of spinach atop. The salmon was okay, and one of my eggs was slightly over cooked. The flavours were good, but the portion size (relative to pricing) was really a let down. <br/><br/>That being said, I think the overall atmosphere of the place is warm and spacious, with great natural light coming from the massive windows. Would be a great place for a fuss free catch up over coffee--just don't order what I had.<br/><br/>Showstopper: Friendly staff, great service.<br/><br/>Overall grade: C

With big, ceiling to floor windows, good food and thoughtful waitstaff, Columbus is one to try out. Went in for brunch late Thursday morning. Our server was really friendly but prompt, allowing us our time to pick but also being aware to catch us almost as soon as we finished deciding our meals. I ordered the eggs bene with a long black, partner ordered french toast with flat white. Not too sure whether its because I've been living on free work coffee or not, but coffee was exquisite. Benedict sauce on my meal was slightly thicker than what I'm used to but still had the creamy lemony taste I love. Rest of the meal was delicious. Partner advised french toast was "f--kin good"- between the Berry compote, maple butter and maple syrup, it was great, especially since the french toast was thick so didn't get soggy and sponge-like. Would definitely go again

Colombus Coffee on Featherston will give you a better breakfast than you'll get from the nearby hotel you're staying in, but it'll be average. The location is great, it's situated on a corner and gets great morning sun. The menu is good and the quality is sufficient. What let it down for me was the slowness of service. I went on a Saturday morning and the place was 1/2 full. It took over 20mins to get our 3 x breakfasts delivered. Although they were tasty, they were on the cool side. I also overheard another customer mentioning the time to get meals out. As I said earlier, better than a hotel breakfast but when you can go to some stunning breakfast places in Wellington (Floriditas, Ti Kouka), why would you come here?
