Review Concrete Bar & Restaurant - Wellington

Great rooftop bar on Lambton Quay (upstairs) We went for lunch, sat out on the balcony and ordered the Korean fried chicken, skin on fries and club sandwiches. The service was fast and friendly, the food was delicious and the balcony had a great view of Lambton Quay.

Stopped here on our way back into town from the cable car, it was a nice view and good happy hour (like $9 for beer or wine). We thoroughly enjoyed it.

First time yesterday. It wasn't as noisy as other pubs. Maybe because it was a Thursday. Good sound system for the live guitar.

So happy to find the gluten free menu is deep fried separately from the gluten stuff. Good music volume, lovely staff. Good spot totally recommend!

Hosted my 21st birthday at Concrete Bar over the weekend and give it a full 5-stars - I had an amazing night! Dan and the rest of the bar team are fantastic, so funny, and so likeable. Food was great, vibes were on and I couldn’t have asked for a better venue.

Great options for cocktails. Great service from the staff. Blankets for your knees when sitting outside. Great little place!

The calamari was the best we have ever had. The shrimp and chorizo polenta was very tasty well presented. I suggest you try some drinks made with local gins. They were smooth and tasteful.

Great little bar in the CBD well worth venturing slightly off the beaten path for. Easily missed, nestled down by the cable car but it's elusiveness is part of the draw. Great spot for drinks on a Friday mid afternoon, especially if you're into people watching over Lambton Quay. The Evolution Burger is next level, I had it 3 times in a week once. Always a top pick if I'm catching up with mates in the city for a few beers and a feed.

Good ambiance and good experience. The balcony outside gives beautiful views. However their booking system needs to update, even after booking our table was not available. But then the staff was very good, they acknowledged that and gave us a free round of drinks while we waited. Chips were good but Don't order the fried chicken

Good service and pretty good food. The staff were friendly and helpful. The setting and surroundings were nice and comfortable. The food was pretty good though some dishes were better than others. The entrees of squid and deli platter were pretty good. The mains were generally pretty good but I would definitely not order the meatballs again as they were overcooked and dry. The beef burger was excellent., juicy and delicious. The pork belly was decent with nice crispy skin but could have done with a bit more flavour. Overall an enjoyable experience and would recommend though I can't stress it enough don't order the meatballs. I gave a rating of three but it was really more of a 3 and a half.

Incredible service and amazing drinks. Was greeted by the loveliest young female bar tender (her name began with a T but I can’t remember what it was!), she gave us impeccable service the entire night and we thoroughly enjoyed our night here, delicious cocktails, cute and cosy inside, chilled outside. The entire place seemed to be very well organised, quiet and professional with super attentive staff. Will definitely be returning!

After work social drinks with colleagues, and decided to try the peach vodka mix which I must admit was deliciously made. The atmosphere was lovely and cosy, situated in the heart of the city and close to public transport and other eatery’s. We ordered the seafood plate and the food is also quite delicious. Recommend this place for a quick drink or two.

Have been here for drinks and snacks a few times and we decided to revisit on the back of a new small plates menu which promised great things. We were particular excited when the waiter advised us The burger was cooked medium rare. It sounded good! Unfortunately while the neat itself was very well cooked, the rest of the burger was completely underwhelming. The bun looked like something I pulled out of my kids lunch box, about half a lite of sauce poured out when the burger was picked up, and there was not a single piece of vegetation to be seen. The Haloumi and Chorizo skewers ordered were better, but the chorizo lacked any real spice or flavour development. The service was very prompt and friendly - and the fries are great, no complaints there, but overall - a misfire.

Woohoo for Wellington on a plate! Such a great annual tradition to be a part of.

This year, my first WOAP burger was the Swine Lord of Levin at Concrete, and on the menu it looked fabulous.

What was promised for $20 was a pork sirloin with apple fritter, kiwi fruit, chilli chutney in a pandoro bun and funky fries with pale ale vinegar.

Firstly the fries were amazing. The vinegar really added a superb acid punch and elevated the taste of the fries. They were cooked right, crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and not at all greasy.

In contrast, the burger didn't seem to hold up to my expectations. Except for the bun which was perfectly toasted, the pork was more or less flavourless and a tad dry, and I couldn't really taste the kiwi fruit at all. The apple fritter was sweet and tangy, but because everything else was mediocre, it couldn't do much to save the dish.

Show stopper: The genius addition of vinegar to the fries made them irresistible, and I could've easily gone for another bowl.

Overall grade: C. I had high expectations going into my first burger of Wellington on a Plate, but unfortunately this burger didn't help me to start off with a blast.

Went to Concrete last night to try their Capital Cocktail. They seemed busy for a Tuesday but service was good and the wait was not too long.
The cocktail tasted like banana pancakes, a little sweet, but still very nice. The highlight was the mini breakfast that accompanied the cocktail. It was much bigger than we were expecting, consisting of a potato rosti, kransky, bacon, avocado, cherry tomato topped off with a fried quail egg.
It was lovely and I left happy.

Went there to try a $20 burger as part of Wellington On a Plate. Staff were awesome and super friendly. Unfortunately the food wasn't that great. The burger was very average, and the fries that accompanied the burger were way too salty. However in saying that I have not yet tried any of their other dishes.

We recently held my sisters 40th birthday party here as a private function on a Saturday. Everything went smoothly because of the experienced Functions Manager who thought of every little detail.
A beautiful ambiance was created in combination of Concrete's decor and our theme requirements.
Food was tasty and enjoyed by all as were the drinks - fantastic night to remember.

Bartenders are amazing. Friendly and accommodating atmosphere. Fast service. I always feel comfortable and don't feel pressured to buy anything more than I have to. Reasonable prices for excellent quality food and drinks. A good place to wind down after a hard day at work or to catch up with friends.

Been there several times and never had to make a booking, they always managed to accommodate us. One of the staff members is exceptionally helpful and friendly, he helped find us a table inside once because it was quite cold outside. The others are also very friendly and never try to rush you with orders.

There is an awesome bartender who asked my friend how she likes her martinis before making it. He explained to her all the options after she told him what flavours she likes. He then proceeded to make a customised martini for her and when he brought the drink over he explained what exactly was in it.

The tapas are also amazing and we did not have to wait long for them. I would definitely go back there every now and again for the great service and the atmosphere.
