Awesome people and awesome F&C - good quality everytime. The best place in Wellington region. Love you guys

Fast, fresh and very tasty. Some of the very best kumara chips we’ve had.
Just a hint if you are not from Wellington and you drove to Starfish: when you leave the New World parking lot, you will have to follow Molesworth right and north. Don’t take the first possible left off Molesworth if you want to go back to Wellington. That left will put you on the SH1 Motorway north, with no way to exit for at least 12 km, all the way up the hill at Johnsonville! Wait until Molesworth gets to Tinakori.

Delicious fish and kumara chips. More expensive than most places but definitely good quality and size serving so worth it

Really good fish and chips, but no offer of vinegar and no chip forks. Where's the vinegar!?

The fish was all black looking, lots of batter and not the appealing really. Chips were nice.

My favourite fish n chips, and I’ve tried quite a few!

Highly recommend trying out the new hot and spicy chicken burger. Best chicken burger I’ve had. Nicely marinated and juicy chicken and fresh salad served with beer battered chips (for extra but definitely worth the extra buck). I’ve never had a better burger served to me from a fish n chip store. Will definitely be going out of my way to get these burgers for lunch and waiting for the day they start dinner burgers.

Hands down the freshest, best value for money and cleanest fast food (fish 'n chips) in the city in my humble opinion. The size of each well presented food parcel has always impressed and when I need my FnC fix, I head to Starfish...I'm also happy to recommend them to my network of fish fry fans.

Good food at one of the best prices around Wellington.

Good fish and chips - I would go again! The chips were very above average (and good portion size), and the fish was good for a takeaway: not soggy, and not over fried or dried out.

Had fish and chips from here 6-7 years ago. I have been to so many fish and chips shops in Fiji and Australia but nothing has come close to this shop. The crumbed fish was so amazing. This shop is worth all your money.

All of the yes. The best little chippy in NZ. If you head to New World for lunch - give this place a try. Fresh great quality food, friendly service and super cheap - you will be converted.

Reliably great every time. Super staff and awesome menu, especially the fish fillets.

Reliable fish and chips - decent serving, reasonably priced and waiting time is seldom too long despite a constant flow of customers. Support this local chippy!

Fabulous, would be great if they served their delicious Chicken Burgers all day

Delish veg spring rolls, fish a d chips, plus battered banana and pineapple. We always call order through and collect - always on time, ready and as ordered. Great local chippy - our Friday night fish and chip night regular.
Chris Tibbotts
These fish and chips are delicious

Enhances any new world shopping experience (order starfish first)

The fish is consistently undercooked - the batter is almost raw underneath.
At these prices they should do better.

I really love these fish and chips. Always fresh and yummy, the only thing that would make it a 5/5 is if they did normal crumbed fish :( however, I would recommend these fish and chips over Thorndon Chippery any day!

I'm not a huge fan of fish & chips at the best of times ... but this place does them pretty darn good! Nice big chips and friendly service. I generally only go here when I'm on a late shift for dinner because it's handy to work. I usually have chips and a sausage or fish. There isn't really much you can say about fish & chips ... but these ones aren't soggy or greasy; they are a bit pricey, but I guess that's Thorndon for you (I think $3.20 per Bluff oyster is a bit up there though, even for Thorndon). Will keep adding photos as I keep going back ...

Rates up there to me for a chippie. Fresh cooked crispy chips with a choice of garlic, chicken or normal salt...good range of products and fast and friendly service... have recommended to friends and they have not been disappointed. Will be back. A+

A good quality quick chip shop, not the best around I'm sure but good value and friendly staff
It's my usual when I feel like a fish and chip lunch. I always get the lunch box deal it's good value and a good size, even enough to feed the sparrows

Very disappointed with Star Fish. Flavourless fish, soggy and oily fish and chips. Wont be saying this is the best shop in town again. Oxford Fish in Tawa. Great portions and better value. Must try Mt Vic!
Matt Bull
I've been more and more disappointed with the F&C in Tawa... So I made the trek back into town to Starfish, where I used to frequent a few years ago. I was not disappointed! Crisp chips, good fish, not greasy and lightly salted (if at all). It's been a couple of years, but it was worth the trip. I'll be back!

This used to be "the' place to go for the best F&Cs in town...however over the past year the quality/size of the fish has deteriorated, and the chips aren't what they used to be - I've been pumping this as the best place in Welly - until I visited the Mt Vic Chippery recently, which just blew Starfish away on all fronts. I'd much rather it was the other way around as Starfish is local, but I'm increasingly finding myself making the trek across town to pay a little more for what just tastes a whole lot better...
