Great local Plimmerton restaurant that leaves you feeling very full. Great selection of food and the chefs special of goat curry is well worth a try. The staff are very attentive and informed. Service of food is quick and different courses served in a timely manner. A better beer selection would have seen the Taj attract a higher rating. I have been here a number of times and will be back.

the food is so gorgeous, has such nice range and the menu is so nice. the service is so good, the waitress i was being served by was so lovely, she was so polite and lowkey so fine. the food quality was amazing, and the atmosphere was so calm and warm. i love this place, defs would recommend 😊😊❤️

This restaurant has improved over the years. It's a really nice place to be. Nice and cosy, ambient lighting and aesthetically pleasing Indian decor. I bought a mixed platter and chickpea curry and Naan. I was surprised how<br/> little it cost. They could easily raise the prices and I'd still come back for more.

We ordered two vegetarian dishes for lunch, the aloo gobi and dahl makhani. Only regret was that we didn't get more, shamelessly going back for dinner. Service was nice too.

Mango Lassi n Chicken Tikka are the best to taste for. I don't know what's wrong with lamb though. Seekh Kebab, horrible taste. I should have learned a lesson but no, ordered Keema Naan! is the worst taste I have experienced in my whole 21 yrs of my life in New Zealand tastes like Sweat. Next ordered Lamb Korma tasted like stale lamb. Over all chicken is what we are able to eat properly. Vegetarian mushroom masala n paneer tikka tasted good. Pricing Rice! omg better to order Naan n eat.

We have eaten a lot of Indian food and this is the standard by which we judge others. We eat here every time we visit the Wellington area and both the service and food are consistently excellent. Worth the drive wherever one is staying in Wellington!

I tried Plimmerton Taj because of the positive reviews on Menumania. I ordered beef rogan josh. The meat was tough and sinewy. The sauce was too sweet and lacked flavour. I asked for medium spicy and there was absolutely no heat in it at all. So what's the point of having a scale of hotness? <br/>I will not be going back and I don't recommend the place.

Authentic indian food. My partner and i have been here a couple of times. Growing up in Singapore, we love our spice. So we always ask for "indian spicy" for all the dishes we order.<br/>The ambience is nice, service is great and of course their food always satisfy our craving for something spicy.

I have been here a number of times. Originally I was sticking to the safe old butter chicken. However, last time me and my partner dined here I ventured out and got a lamb korma. This was delicious! I was nicely surprised and we had a beautiful birthday dinner. The service is great and friendly atmosphere. I try to dine here when it's not too busy as I like the sereneness of a quiet restuarant.

We was a party of 7 on the weekend. Had a great meal, really warm inside. We started with the entree for 7 Special tandoori Platter. Everyone picked their own mains and we had two bread baskets. and end up with India Icecream (homemade) which was very yumm... Overall great food, atmosphere and very friendly service) we will be back with the group again.

Had a meal on the weekend by walking pass. They was fully booked but managed a table for 1 hr 15 minutes. Very enjoyable meal, great service and atmosphere. They also gave 10% disount on the next visit to their other branch Courtenay Taj in wellington Central. We will be back for sure.

Lovely food! not like your food-court indian food, this is the real stuff. Great atmosphere, staff and food. Delicious. Well priced. Small outfit so book in early. Ideal location on main road. On talking to the staff, it seems them and the chef here take pride in the food they prepare ensuring to always deliver authentic dishes.
