Review Grand Century Licensed Chinese Restaurant - Wellington

We walked passed this restaurant and found it quiet. However, we were attracted by its brightly lit and welcoming facade. So we decided to give it a try. The dishes were amazing! The presentation and taste was over and above our expectations! We highly recommend this restaurant!

The restaurant feels very spacious and the renovation gives a touch of oriental atmosphere. The food is traditional and it's good. Not too salty or oily. Overall it's great đź‘Ť

A Chinese restaurant worth trying, the dishes are great, for me, these delicious dishes are worth trying countless times.

Food was freshly made and very tasty other than a bit salty, waiters were friendly always with big smiles on their faces but the dishes came out pretty slow

Delicious Chinese restaurant with yum cha service during lunch and a la cart choices as well. Come here with big groups of people and the place has many tables and seats to accommodate group. It also has upper stairs area with dining tables and TV. We usually order steamed fish, corn soup, roasted and Peking duck, calamari, egg plants chicken wings and black pepper beef. Love the coconut buns and sesame balls, especially when they are freshly made. There are some parking spots around the place but it might be a bit tricky. It’s disability friendly for the ground floor. Make sure you make your order clear and check the bill.

Really generous servings for $35 set menu. Fed 4 adults and 2 and could easily feed 4 more adults.

Great food that will fill you up in no time so don’t get too much . Be ware although they have a lot of pork food (that’s expected)

Outstanding food quality!! Simple starters but every single one is so delicious. Prawn dumplings are full filled with whole prawn inside. Meat in sho mai are chunky, full of flavor. All of them are house-made, doesn’t like the normal cheap one with lot flour. Glutenese rice chicken is the best I’ve every try in NZ. You shouldn’t miss this gem in Wellington. Our first table booking was 5:30, but it’s cold, windy and rainy. We ask them if we can get in earlier and they are very kindly let us in. Very polite and great service. End up ordering too much food than we can eat, but seriously we will definitely come back again when we’re in Wellington. Highly recommend!!

The most satisfying chinese cuisine dinner that our group of 10 have tasted thus far on our NZ trip. Perfectly cooked, steamed and braised dishes. However, services extended to us can be improved by being more attentive and proactive...Overall, a recommended must try restaurant for Chinese cuisine in Wellington..Thumbs up for the foods !

My husband and I joined a celebration event of Chinese national holiday in this restaurant. Dishes there were tasty. We especially love their steamed blue cod and the roast duck. Steamed chicken was also delicious and they had great service too. May come back someday again for their duck.

This has been our favourite yum cha for nearly twenty years. Very pleased to g my ring a group here today for a birthday celebration. The team working were so helpful and really helped make the celebration special.

Love coming to Grand Century, its my go to yum cha. I have always received a great service and great food. Dumplings are so delicious and the mango fish and coconut buns. Most favourite is prawn pancakes

Really like the black pepper beef and the sichuan pepper chilly chicken, very authentic! Hotter than I expected! If you cannot handle too spicy dishes, recommend you let the chef know to reduce the chillies! We were treated by some coconut buns! So yummy!

Booked a table for 8 for Sunday Yum Cha. Street parking was easy to find but was surprised to find that you needed to pay for Sunday parking. They knew of our booking and led us straight to our table. Yum Cha service was prompt and polite including prompt removal of used plates etc. People at the tabled loved the Egg Plant and squid…Egg Plant was crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle and squid was tender and both were flavoursome. Other items were OK. I have had better Yum Cha and will probably return to my favourite place next time.

Don't book - you can, (we did) but it makes no difference when you arrive.
Don't expect a greeting, or indeed civility - a shrieking harridan will pointedly ignore a queue of people at the desk and screech numbers to the faces of people less than 50 cms in front of her intended to advise a seat to people 10 meters away sitting patiently waiting.

Don't expect anything remotely hospitable. Surely Judy no longer owns this place?

Food is bog standard, bought in, competently reheated. Nothing much looks prepared by their kitchen. They did at one stage have a great chef, but he must have sensibly departed.

For God's sake go nowhere near their toilets they are a foul disgrace.

In fact, just don't go.

It's Chinese yum cha: you do not expect silver service. We've been going to Grand Century for 15 years. We've had some pretty average experiences, which is expected. The foul-tempered staff need to be aware that there are better options, we will not be bringing our family back.

The first time I have Chinese ramen in Wellington. Yay real dim sum and plenty of them. Lots of variety and all hot, fresh and luscious. You can be a vegetarian and find something to eat but to be fair it's a meat and fish heavy menu. Keep it guys, this place is a must stop by when in town, especially on a weekend.

Been going here for years and always a great place for yum cha. Faves include deep fried dumplings; prawn & coriander dumplings, streamed greens; ticky rice and coconut buns - all washed down with lots of Chinese tea.
William Young
Terrible service. Waited 2 hours for any of our main courses to come out. Never had such bad service ever. Time to close up shop, I think. My daughter booked a table for 13 people, which they accepted. When all 13 of us arrived to sit around a table upstairs we could barely fit around it. I paid the bill, so as to not try and turn this into a bargaining situation, I let rip and told the Mgr Judy what I thought of them. Diabolical service, and this comes from a Chinese person! I won't be going back, but somehow I don't think they really care.

Great Yum Cha!! The selection is excellent. We enjoyed everything we picked and there were so many more options that we wanted to try, but we couldn’t squeeze any more food in! We will be back soon to try some more dishes.

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE FOR YUM CHAR GO TO REGAL OR DRAGON
gross yum cha tbh chive pancakes were really heavy, didnt brung us our egg tarts we ordered, best/ safest thing was the steamed rice rolls. their deep fried things were drenched in oil not drained properly so all you could taste was oil. Stop spending money on their Decor & focus on their food,

Poor service! No baby high chair when asked for one. Their form of high chair is to add another cushion on top and strapped it to an adult chair. Dangerous for a 7 months old baby!! So my mother and I had a turn to hold her so the other can have their meal! When we went to pay, we were charged with 6 bowls of rice!! Umm we DID NOT order any rice! Instead of asking us what we had, the owner asked their poor English speaking staff and charged us wrong! I’d much have yumcha here than dinner! With a grand looking place like this, you’d think they’d have better service and a baby high chair! Ugh!

Just had dim sum here for the first time since 2010. What a revelation! It’s all newly decorated and looks very smart. The food was really outstanding. We ordered from the yum cha menu, which had pictures of everything. We’d come a bit late - 1:30pm on a quiet Wednesday, so a lot of the dishes had sold out. What was still available was so delicious. Some dishes we hadn’t heard of before, so that was exciting. All the steamed dumplings were great, and the deep fried things we don’t normally order were so good too. Not too heavy or oily. Can’t wait to return again soon to try more. Might be our new hangout!

about half an hour back ordered deep fried spring roll & deep fried prawns with coriander. haven't heard main course here, so this feedback is only regarding appetizers.

open my the take away box and smell... man clearly fried in old oil. not sure how many weeks before. I could even eat the prawns and coriander. threw the box away .

service :waited for 5 mins so that someone could come to take the order. however the server was kind and polite and good seating area for ones who ordered takeaway.

We had a party of 14 for a yum cha lunch. We were lucky to have the place to ourselves before other tables were filled on a Friday. Everything was fresh that came out of the kitchen. Staff was attentive and good service with the plates arriving on trays rather than on hot trolleys.

So average
This place used to be great about 10 years ago... but it's run down, the staff are useless and the quality of the food is a joke.
Won't be eating here again

Not impressed booked in advance for yum cha for Father's day, turned up had tons of people waiting for seats, so many infact that there was no standing room.people were walking in off street and handed numbers by the owner, in order to wait for a table. even though I had booked in advance the boss lady still made us wait for a table behind every Tom dick and Harry that walked in off the street. While i agree it was busy, I had a baby and had booked in advanced ahead of people who just decided to turn up at the restaurant, so I believe that I should of been served first. But we waited as four other couples who had no booking ahead of time, given tables ahead of us. There is a reason you book over the phone, we were loyal patrons but never again! I dont mind waiting, but this restaurant needs to treat its customers better.

I've been here for dim sum and dinner a couple of times. Dim sum is very average, all of Wellington is pretty much the same with each have one or two dishes standing out. But I've not had anything particularly nice in the place and presentation is pretty poor. Service was generally not attentive. Once we came for dinner on a quiet evening and they definitely showed they didn't want us in despite we asked them beforehand. Some dishes are okay, they have big tables so it's easier for big groups.

This is one of the worst dining experiences I have had. It's not the first time I have been here but I won't be going back. We almost had to fight to get anyone to bring food ( yum Cha) to our table. They most certainly weren't interested in bringing water. They had two pots of tea on the table so I asked if it was free and the waiter said yes. We drunk a small amount and then were charged per person for the tea at the counter. Including for my one year old! When I informed the lady I had specifically asked if the tea was free she said I was wrong, her wait staff would not have said that because they all knew it was not. And to make matters worse there was no way she would refund it. The staff were rude. The restaurant was dirty and the food was disgusting. DO NOT GO. End of story.

I dined here for a private function and had a banquet menu. The food and staff were all okay but nothing standout. Some of the dishes were a bit on the bland side but the roast duck was really good. Had to ask the staff for a few things such as water and glasses which took a while at times.

Found this place while searching for a lunch spot for my wife, 8yo son and I, and it looked busy enough (everywhere is a bit quiet as it's a public holiday) so we dropped in for yum cha.

Service was as expected at a Yum Cha, dishes came around fairly regularly and staff generally knew what they had on the tray. Everything we had (prawn dumplings, scallop dumplings, roast pork, fried squid, pan fried pork dumplings, BBQ pork buns, crispy fried chicken wings and custard buns) was of a good quality, the dumplings had plenty of filling and weren't greasy, the chicken wings were crunchy and golden. The squid however had a thick batter (like you might find at a fish and chip shop) and was a little tough.

Some of the food wasn't as hot as it could have been, probably because it was brought on trays rather than steamboats, but it was certainly hot enough (ready to eat). Tea was topped up regularly and empty plates cleared.

Having read some of the less favorable reviews, I wonder if we got lucky or if my expectations are simply not that high. But based on my experience I'd definitely return here for yum cha.

Since having some really good Yum Cha in Auckland my standards are much higher now than when they were when I used to come here a couple of years back. I do think it’s one of the better Yum Cha places in Wellington but it’s got nothing on its Auckland counterparts. Ice cream balls are nowhere in sight for a start! We did manage to get all the food we were after but there was a long wait for some of it and we had to ask for more steamed dumplings. At a huge place like this you’d think dumplings would be in constant rotation. I find their deep fried food very oily, they should probably change the oil more often. Their prawn dumplings are very good however, and they are very generous with the prawns. As for their other food, I would stay well away from that, I had their ginger beef a while back and it was inedible. Overall, I do recommend this place for a pretty decent Yum Cha.

The Yamcha is not very impressed, we had last Saturday with friend, 5 of us, spend over $80. Dishes were lower quality ( tasty and presentable) than expected and much worse than 4 years ago ( I went away for 4years). The worst part is my wife, daughter (2) and I had funny tummy after that, had to keep go to toilet, didn't even bother to cook for dinner as tummy felt not well. Thought about complaint to owner or manager but at the end can't be bothered. Won't return for YamCha but may give others a chance.

I have been to Grand Century on a few occasions, the food quality and service standard are getting worst each time. I just went there a couple of days ago with my partner. We were given a special chef's menu, it looks interesting and a bit curious myself I inquired the waitress about a dish. She looked blank, shrugged and declared that she doesn't know the details of the dish. She didn't even border to check with chef, her attitude was as if she was forced to work there. Bad service!
Feeling frustrated, we skipped the special menu and ordered a typical chinese dish, i.e kung po prawn dish. The dish had way too much of peanuts as garnish, and the peanuts are soft not crunchy. The sauce was a bit watery unlike the standard sticky kung po sauce. Sorry. I am not going to dine there again.

Reasonably regular Yum Char spot for us and family. Pretty nice selection of more western but also traditional dishes, so you can get deep fried squid, chicken wings and such like but also tripe, cartilage and chicken feet if you please. Many good dishes and pretty good wait staff, friendly enough. I do feel sometimes you don't get offered some of the more traditional stuff so we really sniff it out as it comes around or as we see it at other tables, but in fairness many people don't go for the traditional stuff if its not part of your culture.

very dissappointing went here with my partner, we were grumpily welcomed by staff to an almost empty place, we were stared at (as they placed us right in the centre) and were watched by the whole family that were working/babysitting. we ordered a few vey over priced dishes, they came out one painful dish after the other, very bland, tasteless and poorly displayed and served food, the waitress couldn't even tell us what she was giving us despite no one really being there to distract her attention. after we finished we were again interrupted by staff clearing the settings, banging and smashing plates so loud we could barely talk to each other, worst experience, will never go back and warn people off it in future.

Love going here for their yum cha! There are plenty of delicious options, and they do the sticky coconut buns which are to die for! Can also recommend the Orange Beef main!
Foodie Mallu
I have been twice to this place. I like their ambience I would give them a 4/5 for that . On service I would give nothing more than 3/5. The best dish that I liked here was their deep fried squid.

Went here for a flat dinner for peking duck and a few other dishes! Good food at an affordable price. The wait staff were very attentive, maybe because it was quite empty on a Tuesday night. Would recommend their green beans with mince pork and the 2nd course of the peking duck is especially nice! :)

Had takeaway dishes, pork dishes were more fat than meat, tasteless and chewy. Rice dish was bland, no seasoning at all.
Very disappointed indeed!

We dined and had takeaway numerous time but definitely noticed that this restaurant is going downhill.

I went there for dinner with my mum and her friends. And this will be the very last time we will be back. Not only over priced but there were not fresh. We ordered this dish that have 10 piece of chinese turnip with stuffing ( cant see any) cost over $20 and steam chicken with scallop shredded cost over $58 were tastleless and not fresh. Ordered a whole fish that cost over $60. We went there few times but dont know why we bothered to go back there.

I understand it is hard to run a restaurant but serving not fresh food and overpriced is to scare customers away.

We had takeaway from this restaurant last week, while staying in Wellington on holiday. Its was lovely food, brilliant service, friendly staff, meals were excellent. Would come back and eat from there again :-)

Am easily persuaded for Yum Char outings come Sundays and wanted to try somewhere new. Feel the best way to express experience is through a list.

1. Booked for 1 o'clock, arrived and was given a chit like in a fish n' chip shop. Was seated at 1:20pm. No explanation or apology.
2. Food started coming around fifteen minutes later.
3. Thick plastic table protector was old and bunching up so could not sit my drink on the table.
4. Food average and sauces seemed watered down and tasteless. Persononally, there were not enough steamed things and too much deep-fried.
5. Unlike other places, here they don't clean as they go, so you are left eating with dirty dishes piling up around the table.
6. Was not even looked at let alone asked how the meal was upon paying.

Safe to say that, unless feeling obliged to return because a (very) good friend celebrates a birthday there, will not be back.
Jo
I went there once and have never gone back, the service is terrible the yum cha food is slow and cold and yes like all the other reviews said the service needs a large improvement. The lady at the counter over charges she will over charge you by adding one or two more of the yum cha items on to it.watch out

For my first ever yum char experience this was an incredible let down. Was seated straight away in a fairly full restaurant but that was pretty much the highlight as it went downhill at a rapid rate from there. We waited for a lengthy period for the first dishes to be brought to us only for the waiters to blurt out in a manner I couldn't understand what they were offering. Every time I had to ask for them to repeat it which by the looks on their faces it was a real struggle for them. Time and time again this happened and time and time again whatever dish we chose to try, the quality was so poor. The roast pork while sizeable was just all fat and solid chunks of bone. The final straw came when I attempted the good old spring roll, never in a restaurant had I tried something that wanted me to throw up immediately but this place managed it. We left straight away with the only other highlight being the mints which we took after settling the bill, they were more than necessary to settle the stomach. If this site were able to give half stars or even no stars then that would be a fairer more accurate description than the one star given. Steer clear.

Terrible service, the old lady at reception with short hair should be fired or at least given some customer service training. This is the second time she has been rude to us, and we definitely won't be coming back a third time. The food there is nothing special either, and I agree with the post below - they should get rid of the "Chinese vegetables" - or at least make it clear on the menu it is just bok choy.
Zombie69
May we start with everyone here whose put 2 or less stars, we completely agree and when reading your comments felt a strong sense of deja vu. And to anyone thinking about dining here - go to DRAGON down the road!!!

We arrived at Grand Century for yum-cha (or should I say "yuck-cha") yesterday at 2pm, thinking we would be allowing plenty of time for a quick bite as it finishes at 2:30. When we arrived the lady (who I presume is the manager) snuffed her face at us as if we were a huge inconvenience to them and told one of the workers to set up a table. The waitress brought us the menu and we realised that we weren't going to get the normal yum-cha experience and would have to order off the menu, which was fine as we knew there was only half an hour to go.

While walking to our table we noticed how dirty the restaurant was with cobwebs and the fishtank looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years.

Anyway, I asked the waitress what vege dish she recommends and she suggested the chinese veges for $9 which sounded divine - turns out it was just a whole heap of bok choy and nothing else. She brought over our pork filled pastries which were dry and had obviously been sitting there a while as they were barely even warm. The coconut buns and steamed prawn & chives dumplings were better, mainly to the fact that they were hot and freshly made, as they should be. At this point of the meal (around 2:20pm), we were the last customers left and all the staff sat down and started their lunch, we noticed them looking at us and talking/smirking which was very rude. We had finished and were ready to go, and no-one came over as they were all busy eating.

Eventually, the manager came to the till and we said we want a doggy bag for the $10 bok choy and coconut bun (to give to our dog). She snuffed her face up and gave us a plastic container to put the leftovers in. Never in a restaurant have I had to do this myself and feel so unwelcomed - they definitely don't go the extra mile for service here.

We feel like we wasted our hard earned money here and our words to the world is Do not go there!!!!

Went there today for lunch (22ND May) second time Ive been there and both times were excellent, great fast friendly service.
Even got ask what we would like after trying a few and brought that out within minutes highly recommend
Definitely go back there!

Diner for six yesterday evening (Monday 6th Febr. 2012).
Starting from being welcomed by the Manager on entering the restaurant to placing our order after deliberating for 15 minutes and being offered assistance by our waitress and the Manager, right up to the quality of the food delivered, the wide choice of Sauvignon Blanc on offer and the polite & courteous service in the interim, the evening became an experience I would like to enjoy again soon!
Well done Grand Century,
Nik Z.

Had lunch there a while ago. It might have been partly my own fault because Yum Char is designed to be shared and not for single dinners, but the staff made me feel really unwelcome and misplaced. As I tried to ask the waitress if there will be some crispy pork as an option, she turned around and brought me a fairly large portion of pork belly from the kitchen of which she charged me $20 for. There were no sides or vegetable with it and therefor a very boring meal. Leaving almost have of it behind I went to the counter to pay for my lunch. The women there (maybe the manager) was talking to someone on the phone but did not bother to pause the call to take my money. She punched a few numbers into the till and pointed to the display to show me how much I had to pay. This was the worst restaurant experience I had in Wellington. I will never ever go there again.

This place was one that our family seem to always go to, I like the environment for a Chinese Restaurant.

It's very spacious, and the food has never been bad when I've gone, we've mostly always ordered from a menu here, and food was reasonably prompt. Good things Take Time, and I find a lot of the time at Chinese Restaurants, this is the case, no exception with the Grand Century.

Food was nice, and environment is nice.

easily one of my preferences for Chinese, and Easily one of my more preferred options for Quality Chinese.
MrsK
OK, but not the best Yum Char I've had
Cafe Chic
went for yum cha on sunday morning adnd was pleasently surprised to find a seat with only 10 mins of waiting

waiters were not very pleasent, infact I recall a waitress who was laying out the cutlery almost throwing the plates while setting up our table..I understand sundays are rushed for them and did not mind it so much

Food was all good...lot of good variety...we tried almost 80% of thier yum cha serves and cant complain anyone was bad..not much for my my vegeterian friend though :) but then we almost expected it

I personnaly feel that price was a bit on the higher side

Had dinner here as my 11 year old daughter chose this as her "birthday dinner" location. There were 3 adults and 2 children.

We were served promptly and the entrees started to arrive shortly after. The quality was excellent delivered all within the perfect time-frame for finishing one dish and being ready for the next.

The mains came out hot-and-tasty and without any kind of delay.

The waitress, once she discovered it was my daughter's birthday, made a nice effort and spent time chatting with her and making her feel special.

We ordered 8 entrees, 3 mains, 2 deserts and several non-alcoholic drinks with the bill coming to a shade over $150. The amount of food delivered could easily accommodated and extra 1-2 adults.
Kei
I had yum cha at this place, service was in this place was very disappointing.

I asked for water more than 4 times and everyone just ignored me (in stead of getting water for me, staff members started their lunch) Finally I got water but no glass to drink with!!

They also brought tea which I don't drink, never asked if I wanted them and they just charged it.

Foods tasted not too bad but not good enough for price I was paying.
Never go there again.
Andrew Hardwick
In planning a meal for my 50th birthday I went to several places to check out menues and prices. The Grand Century in Tory went straight to the top of the list. On Saturday 29th Jan 2011, my party of 12 enjoyed a wonderful evening. The staff were friendly and responded to the growing numbers with calmness and ease, the food was both high quality and high quantity and the atmoshere was conducive to just chilling out and relaxing. Some of my guests had never been to the GC before, but they all said they would be going back!
Vivienne
I will not recommend Yam Char at Grand Century because the dim sum are just alright from scale 0-5 i give only 2stars. but dinner at GC is not bad - food is good plus this restaurant is best place to have dinner in big group of people because they have big table that can fit more than 10 persons.
Michael
Awful. I went for yum cha on a Sunday morning and it was inedible. A lot of food comes around but you can't understand what it is because the rude waiters just shriek out something completely indecipherable.

I had pork which looked like human flesh and tasted awful. A plate of vegetables is just bok choy with nothing else and costs $10 alone!

The service was the worst part. When my friends and I went to pay, the cashier got extremely annoyed because we were all paying separately for separate food items rather than splitting the bill. She acted as though this was some kind of huge inconvenience to her. I felt like saying "you should be happy we are paying for this disgusting horrible food AT ALL". We actually got in a bit of a loud argument with her and warned others on the way out the door. Not a great way to treat paying customers! Perhaps they should set up a better billing system. Or have a cashier who can, ya no, add numbers? And not be a completely rude cow?

Will persist in warning people away from this hideous restaurant. Yech!!
Mark Richards
Very good food. Loved it. Service was average.
George
We eat there a yum cha on Sunday 18 July 2010 with my wife and my twin daughter. food is not that good. but surprise me when I got the bill is $77 I think there is something is not ok in the cashier. my wife and my two 8yrs old girls don't eat much. inside is not really clean as we notice a cob wed in the ceiling might fall to your plate.
Otago Islander
We had a large group dinner of about 18 people. They don't really have tables made for large groups - so we had two lazy susan tables thrown together. Not ideal, but a bonus was being able to keep myself away from people I didn't want a lot to do with for the evening.

We decided upon the $30pp set menu which turned out to be pretty good value. There were some issues with segregating the vegetarians amongst us, the staff of the restaurant wanting the tree-chewers to sit at one end so that those eating from the set-menu could be easily identified. With all the fuss it would have been far easier just branding the leaf-lovers with an iron.

A lot of food in the set menu, far too much to go into the individual merits of the food, suffice to say the food was very good. I especially enjoyed the Chicken & Corn soup which had a spice to it. The fried rice was a bit bland perhaps indicating mass-cooking of large quantities - but the rest was enjoyed by all.

Service throughout the night was generally pretty good and the staff were helpful (other than the discriminatory action against the cabbage-crunchers). I would have gone for a 3.5 rating, because I didn't think it quite achieved a 4 - but seeing as I can't do that, 3 stars from me.
Rob
We always go here with friends on Sundays & am generally happy with everything - however was fairly disappointed when some lady claiming to be the person who does their PR work pushes in & demands a table & gets a table before those who have waited in line for over 10mins - come on! I think they need to sort out the long wait for those coming in & those waiting to pay.
Martin
Busy much of the time, especially on weekends. Easier to get a seat during a weekday for lunch. Why is it so popular? Because the food is good, the place is light and spacious, service is fine, and their is sufficient variety to keep you happy. An alternative to the Regal.

Grand Century is a modern chinese restaurant located on Tory Street. The interior is nice as it was modernised and that is about where it stops.

The service is terrible, it takes forever to get seating even when it's not busy and for some reason, they seem to give preferential treatment to other people even if you were in line to be seated first!

I used to go there for yum cha as I do admit their food is nice however due to their ongoing bad service I have stopped giving them my business. Does it hurt so much to smile at your customers and greet them?

Another thing to be careful of especially during yum cha, make sure you check your bill. On several occasions my bill is always higher than expected, and this has not only happened to me, it's happened to my friends and even my mom's friends! So just watch out for how they "bill" you.
Caffeinated Weka
A group of us went for yum cha this morning. There was a huge range of food - something for everyone, including those who preferred vegetarian-styled food, and some yum cha newbies! Very reasonably priced when dividing the bill between a large group.
