So nice! Food is top quality, service is fantastic. Whether you’re coming for a quick lunch or a leisurely dinner, they will take care of you.

Great spot if you are in the area. Went here for lunch with work mates - lovely footpath from Molesworth to get there and back. Lunch was great and well worth the price. For under $15 I had curry, rice and a plain naan. Really good value for money. It was surprisingly quiet during lunch. Was nice and toasty inside. I believe there is another menu for dinner. Will definitely go again. Service was lovely too.

I really enjoyed the Lamb Korma. The sauce was creamy and rich - the meat melted on my tongue. We were in a large group, and were all satisfied. They handled our group, and another large party easily. We left happy and satiated. We WILL go back.

easily one of the best Indian restaurants in Wellington. Portions are awesome, spice level is fantastic and the staff is always so friendly. I got the Paneer Bhurji and Chicken Biryani and it was so delicious. The Aloo paratha was also amazing. Decor and vibe is also very inviting. Would highly recommend anyone living in Wellington to check it out.

I had a great fish curry here. Fresh and full of flavor. I have also had a variety of takeaway curry from here and am always left happy. Fully recommended 👍🏻

Wow - this is honestly the best Indian food we've ever had. SERIOUSLY delicious. The service is amazing. What a great evening, thank you!

Delicious Indian cuisine tonight. Indus deserves to be much busier. Tandoori platter was a particular fave but all the food was very tasty. Be cautious if you order your spice level Indian Hot!

Great service, staff had great knowledge for my gluten dairy free dining partner. Delicious food, hot from the kitchen, spiced as ordered. Actual cheese dripping out of the cheese naan!

This is our favourite Indian restaurant in Wellington. On site or pick-up, we love it. The vegetarian options are numerous and delicious. We love the gular kebab, the dal makhani and the malai kofta is just the best.

I've tried curries at every Indian place in Wellington, and the paneer meva tukda from Indus takes the cake, it's a clear winner! The rest of their curries are amazing too. Great service for dine in or takeaway. Weekend evenings can be a bit busy so book ahead.

Visited Indus twice, while I was on a business trip to Wellington. I can only thank them for a superb hospitality extended during my visit by obliging my request and customised a dish to suit my taste. Being from an Indian ethnicity, I do check for the authenticity in the spice blends used in the Indian restaurants, but Indus has clearly ticked the box by offering a right proposition of spice in a delicious dish. Thanks a lot for your service ‘Chef and team’, you will see me again very soon. Best wishes to you guys👍

Great restaurant. Based on Tinakori Road. Very close to work and great food. There were many people dining with Christmas work events. But the food made it out in a timely manner.

This place is awesome! Harry is the nicest guy! I used to eat here at least once a week when I lived in Thorndon. To this day, I make their kachumber salad recipe whenever I have Indian. It's sooo good! Sit outside if you can, their courtyard is really special!

Amazing meal. Flavours were perfect. Also love the great menu choices and heaps of #glutenfree and #vegtarian available. Lady working front of house great service to top it off.

The flavors were so layered and the best Indian fare I've ever had! We were thrilled with Tarka Daal, chana masala, lovely rice, and Samosas were flavorful, fragrant sauce and flakey pastry. Naan was warm, buttery and delightful. All the richness must be due to super fresh spices and ingredients. Service was gracious and prompt.

I am more than happy to find this authentic Indian restaurant. Tandoori prawns prepared by their master chefs are just amazing. Their style of serving is marvelous. Kudos!

We had a takeaway last evening.Samosa, onion kulcha, one mixed vegetable curry [mild] and one daal makahni, and one raita.
The food was very disappointing.

Hard to review as we didn't actually eat here. We walked (4) to this restaurant for Dinner from where we were staying. We opened the door and the smell put us off eating here. The air smelt of rancid food. So we nicely declined a table and walked further up to the pub for dinner. The host was helpful. Can't say any more really.

Went there today for the first time and loved it!! The food is delicious and their curries are actually flavored and not colored red ( like in most cases). The prices are great and it seems to have nice and friendly staff who are happy to help you out if you cant pick a dish to eat. I would definitely be going there again.

Have been to this restarant on 6 occassions. If you ask for spicy food they throw chilli flakes in there until it tastes of nothign else. If you don't there is no spice at all. Their cheese naan is not stuffed as described in the menu, it is dried cheese on top of the dry on naan. Have received nothing with a decent flavour any time I have eaten here. Not recommended unless you're looking for a cheap lunch.

4 dinners
2 lunches.

Finally went there last week. Ordered the $27.50 per person meal deal. This came with an array of entrees, two meat curries and one vegetarian curry. They tasted amazing but there was not a lot of meat or vegetables in each curry. Mostly just the sauce. The naan bread was also a little burnt and could have been a little more thicker. The hostess was lovely and really attentive. Will definitely go back for a second go but if there are no improvements then might try somewhere else as I like to have big portions!

I was on a one day trip to Wellington when I saw this restaurant, me and my two other friends ordered dal makhni, butter chicken, lassi, tandoori chicken and garlic naan. No doubt, the food was delicious and had really a fresh food aroma. The prices are still fine but just that I found the quantity of the starters a bit less... The ambience was nice and services were good too. The Menu had a large variety of curries, bread and starters.

I ordered takeaway and had it delivered to my house. The one good point was that the delivery itself was brilliant, but it all went downhill from there. I ordered 2 curries - one was a Lamb Vindaloo. Hardly spicy at all, the lamb was overcooked and it sat in this pool of thin liquid and oil like a soup. Not like any other Lamb Vindaloo I've ever had. The Navratan Korma was my other dish and it was so consumed with coconut milk it was difficult to taste any of the other flavours. There was no effort put into the vegetables, which had the consistency of being from a frozen package. Again - it was over soupy and not like any other curry I've had before. Finally - the rice had clearly not been cooked fresh and was crumbly, dry and a horrible texture to eat. If I pushed some of my food off to the side of my plate, I was left with a pool of water in it's place. I ended up throwing out most of the meal as I simply could not eat it.

I decided to call Indus to give them feedback on their meal and all I was told was that they have NEVER had any other complaints before and were shocked to hear that I could possibly not enjoy my meal. They told me they checked with the chef and couldn't see why I was upset with my meal - even justified the rice to saying that yes, it was re-heated from the day before (having been frozen overnight), but that ALL restaurants do that. They refused to give me a refund and offered instead a discounted rate on my next purchase. I said that given my experience I had no intention of ever ordering from them again so a discount was irrelevant. Out of all the brilliant Indian restaurants in Wellington, Indus is not one that I would recommend. Particularly when it wasn't even as good as going to the food court at the mall.

I've come here a couple of times now, and both times the food was served up very quickly after arrival (we did pre-order), and it was hot, and evidently freshly made. The quality of the curry (I ordered a chicken tikka masala the first time, and a chicken vindaloo the second) was very high- a delicious, authentic taste that was accompanied very well by nicely-cooked rice and absolutely delicious naan bread. The size of the meal was very large- considering the $10.50 I paid for lunch, the value for money here is incredible. Very convenient location, and friendly staff. I highly commend this restaurant, and would definitely recommend this to friends. I look forward to coming here next week for lunch again, to celebrate my 18th

This place does wonderfully authentic cuisine! The share plate entre is a stunner! I would go here just for that with a beer and great company! The mango curry is a must try too. A definite fave!

I had butter chicken and chicken tikka from here . The host was very friendly and I would give him a 5 /5 for that and they have good ambience .The tikka is really delicious but very less in quantity. The butter chicken is too oily. Overall I would suggest that it was not up to my expectation.

Best Indian food in Wellington. Harry and his staff are the most professional I've encountered. A great variety of excellent food. I try to have lunch there at least twice a week. The Beef Jalfrazi is my favorite. Our Personal Assistant group from Embassies in Wellington has dinner there once a month and everyone leaves happy and with satisfied taste buds.

Hands down the best Indian restaurant in Wellington!

Wide variety of regional dishes, including all the usual suspects. Vegetarian options are superb. Breads are great - try the onion kulcha.

Harry is a gregarious host, and the staff are friendly and efficient.

Indus is awesome. Highly recommended to everyone. We go about once a month, and the food is exceptional and the staff are very friendly and great at their job.

We had a birthday party at Indus last weekend, and we were well looked after despite having booked out a table for approx 25 people. Food came out promptly (we ordered the banquet set menu), tasted delicious and service was brilliant. The staff helped us take loads of photos too.

If you want to have dinner (or lunch) at an epic Indian restaurant, Indus won't let you down :-)

Fantastic food and excellent service. This has to be the best Indian restaurant in Wellington. Very authentic food, cooked exactly as we all ordered; not too hot for the kids but super hot for those of us that wanted it. We will definitely be back very soon.

One of Wellington's hidden gems. Great selection of food and wine, and also has BYO option. Hosts are very welcoming, and somewhere that I try to take out of town friends and family to.

This is a little gem in Thorndon!

We moved to the area not long ago and thought we would try it out. I have to say, it was the best tasting Indian I have had in Wellington! They use the best quality ingredients 10/10. There are a couple of really authentic dishes and one in particular that you don't usually see on Indian menus, the Chicken Ponsonby, is a must try! Their Samosas are divine...so authentic and oh so delicious!!
They also do private catering which is a bonus.
I recommend you try Indus, well worth the trip!
