This was our first time into this restaurant and it was a pleasant one. The service was great and the staff is very friendly. The place is clean and cozy. We were 4 adults and 2 kids, and ordered a variety of items (some pictures are attached) on the menu, including Entrees (Hummus, Laadissa, and Zaalouk), Mains (Lamb tagine, Chicken kebab, and Vegetarian tagine), Kids' menu (Chicken nuggets), Dessert (Baghrir), and Drinks (Morocco coffee, and Mint tea). The food was delicious and authentic. However, the rice portion was not much enough (which we hoped it is a bit more), and there was some inconsistency between the orders (some elements, e.g., carrot and potato, were completely missing from one of the three lamb tagines whereas one of them had way more).

The lamb tangine was the best for me. Not only it was a beautiful dish, I actually felt like I was dining in Morroco itself. It was a wonderful feeling. The service was friendly and excellent. The waiter explaint about Moroccan dishes very well and he was being patient for a customer new to their cuisine.

Highly recommend to everyone who loves Moroccan cuisine. I ordered lamb tagine and it was absolutely delicious!!! Lamb was so soft and had lots of meat. Great service although maybe waiters should pay attention more to their guests. We couldn’t wait for them to come and ask us about our order, and we came up to them by ourselves.

First time eating authentic Moroccan and it was very tasty. Nice decorations which invokes and enhances the environment. Food was excellent, masha'Allah. Be prepared to wait 20+ minutes due to the cooking of the tagines. What I would do next time though would be to order a specialty dish. For example, the specialty Berber tagine one had in my group compared to the standard chicken tagine I had looked a lot more interesting. Definitely recommend the coffee as well. I would eat there again and recommend.

The Royal couscous was amazing, but other options are too sweet for a savory dish. I was so disappointed with the three dip entree. It is just a joke, for 13 dollars, we got so tiny bowls of dips so tiny you even can't dip the bread in. Honestly, this dip entree doesn't worth 5 dollars in my opinion. Other than that, I enjoyed the atmosphere, the waitress was amazingly delightful and the my royal lamb couscous was flavourful and juicy. I would definitely go back but won't order any entrées again.

This place was incredible! It’s that authentic that it took me back to when I was in morocco back in 2017. Glad I came across this gem, since we can’t physically fly to Marrakesh these days eating here is the next best thing. Thoughtfully hand crafted hearty meals take your tastebuds on a intercontinental journey. Would definitely come back when in welly next.

Superb food, super friendly staff and great customer service.
Very welcoming, it does make me feel that I'm on my travels. I like the ambience music, decoration and on sunny days it's a delight to eat outside.

Went here spontaneously with my work colleague aka grampa. He introduced me to Tagine, it was SO good. Since I'm not a big fan of lamb, I ordered seafood it was a bit lemony and spicy but I really liked that tangy flavor. They were out of milk pudding so I ordered the rice pudding instead it was amazing too. Moroccan coffee and mint tea were my favorite too! The tall young gentleman who served us was very friendly and professional : ) will definitely go back with some more people soon

Charming location, friendly staff,great prices, talented Chef. Delicious and full of amazing spices from the Middle East. After our appetizers with the spicy chickpeas and roast eggplant we enjoyed the lentil soup with the wonderfull lemon oil drizzle and the vegetarian Tagine was so nice. The Morroccan coffee was perfect...Thank you!

Visited the Marrakech Cafe in Greta Point in Jan 2016. The decor is like something out of "Casablanca" and the food is divine! Our waiter was from Kenya and spoke better English than me. He couldn't have been more helpful. We had a selection of food and words like authentic, delicious and top quality come to mind. Strongly recommended to visit again and again.

Finally returned today after building up my expectations for 3 years.....and the experience today stood up to it!😊. Lovely, had a really good meal there. Loved the chicken, pear and prune Tagine. Did not think the lamb Tagine was as good but overall the meal was very good and it's an authentic, relaxed venue.

What a find!<br/><br/>We love the Marrakech Cafe and eat there regularly.<br/><br/>The samosa's are delicious and great value... I'm not sure what they put in the eggplant dip but OMG its amazing along with the flatbreads which are simply to die for!<br/><br/>We almost always have the tagines and have NEVER been disappointed. We have eaten at other restaurants in Wellington and there's simply no competition!<br/><br/>We will be back again and again

It was great to find somewhere in Wellington that could cater for an early dinner for a walk in - no reservation. Whilst the decor whisked you back to Morocco the incense was overpowering and the music in the back ground repetitive and high pitched.<br/><br/>The food was okay, the chicken special dry, lashings of sauce did lots for reducing the dryness. My chicken kebab was unforgiving as it came with no sauce and as a result there was nothing to pull the couscous and chicken together and the result was bland and dry. Husband had to deal with me dipping my chicken in his sauce. Yes I could of paid $2 for sauce but the whole idea of going to a restaurant is the plate of food they set before you is meant to be balanced with taste sensation and texture. I should not have to 2nd guess the chef by adding sauces to his dish to compensate for his lack of skill in providing a complete meal.<br/><br/>Service was by a gentle spoken man that was eager to clear our plates away even though we were the only guest eating.<br/><br/>We made a judgment to have sweets and coffee elsewhere as we were not confident they could pull it off.

Marrakesh is definitely my favourite cafe/restaurant in Wellington. It has a great varied menu and I have never had something I haven't loved. The prices are reasonable too. You've gotta try it!

Excellent food!!! Traditional Moroccan cousin. Lovely atmosphere. Nice service and friendly faces. None of the dishes I tasted there disappointed me! And the mint tea .... another triumph. Highly recommended

Fantastic Moroccan food served with wonderful hospitality. They have a few Western options like burger, creme brulee, their breakfast menu and espresso coffee. Their speciality is targines but they also serve cous cous, pies and burgers. Vegetarian, fish, poulty, beef and lamb meals are available.<br/><br/>We go every week, it is so good! Even if you don't need a meal, pop in for an espresso or a moroccan coffee and bakhlava.
