Best of everything in Karori and that’s just the service. Warm and witty conversations.
The food is probably the best kept secret in Wellington:-)

I was looking for delicious treats for a family morning tea when I wandered into Penny's, and had all my bakery dreams come true. Their slices are awesome, their coffee is great, and their staff are friendly and fun. I'm looking forward to stopping by for a cake fix whenever I visit Wellington.

A good quick coffee stop when you're on the go in Karori.
Penny's is a Karori institution offering a generous cabinet of filled sandwiches, pies, and savoury slices. For those with a sweet tooth, a separate cabinet full of sugary delights will entice.
Penny's also features a range of pre packaged heat and eat take home meals and a wall of homemade sauces and preserves. They sell good coffee too

5/5 food, lovely service. Something for everyone (GF, V etc) A must if you're travelling through Karori. Wish there was an outdoor seating option, as I'd love to dine in! Can't recommend more :)

Brilliant quick bites and some of the best coffee in town. Takeaway only - so it's perfect for on the run healthy, homemade food. I stock up on Penny's soups too, they are easily frozen and again make a healthy meal for 2 - just add bread! The staff are great too. 👌😋🍴🍵👍

Amazing food. With a great range of vegan and gluten free goodies. Big Freezers with a selection of take home meals of all types. Best of all, some of the friendliest service in Wellington. Great owner and staff always make an effort to know customers. Would give 6 out of 5 if I could.

Really good coffee and cake was delicious. We also tried a beef and mushroom pie and didn't like it, the meat was too ground up like it had been finely minced, took the mushroom out and the dog ate it.

I have been going to Penny's Bakery since 2012 when I started university and lived close by at Helen Lowry Hall. I still continue to go Penny's now having finished my studies almost 10 years later. Lovely staff, delicious food. The breakfast panini is out of this world.

Pie warmer was empty. Quote owner: 'sorry, I can't heat pies fast enough to satisfy demand. I'll heat you up one.' couldn't wait. Ordered a sandwich. Was delicious. Ordered a spanikopita and a quiche to take home. Those were delicious too. In fact it's probably a good thing for my arteries that i live so far away! Highly recommend

I've been enjoying Penny's food since the Kalamata days, she's a fabulous cook, and does amazing gluten-free options! My partner loves the glutenous pies :)

I always drop into Penny's for a quick bite and their coffee is good too! They have a good selection of cabinet foods, lovely pies and yummy slices. Their panini's are my favourite and it's a must try! They also have a great number of frozen meals for your lazy mood swings at home. :)

Whoever makes the food here certainly knows how to cook. All the salads and mains I have had from here have had the most exquisite flavours. Try the chick pea salad. Everything I have tried has been very tasty. Bit pricey but nice find.

Penny is an enthusiast for food which shows in the ever changing cabinet in her little shop on karori road. Walk through the red and white chain fly screens and you enter the shop of a real foodie. Whether it's the Reuben sandwich, lovely pies, sweet treats ( usually slices or friands), or salads and meals to take home - all are good and made with passion. She has a good crew and there is always a nice welcome. Her coffee is I think eight thirty which is an ok blend and like everywhere just depends who makes it. <br/>There's a small range of Penny-produced preserves. Penny and nearby Gamboni are good for karori in different ways.

Great food. The berry friands are superb. Easily found on the main road in Karori, just south of the mall traffic lights. Friendly staff as well.
Tabitha Phillips
Makes the best coffee in Karori, a wonderful selection of sweet and savoury baking, and meals to take home. Very friendly chatty staff make this quite a special stop every morning.

We had Penny cater for a christening on Sunday. The food was divine. Really impressed
