Five stars for the food !! Lamb shank is a must-try from the main menu. The starter platter has a good variety. Cocktail options are limited, but the bar menu is elaborate.
Important note Saturday, they are not open until 11 but probably until 9 pm. The kitchen closes at 8 pm so plan accordingly if you are looking for a long late night.

This is a local for me and have been many times, the service is generally really good. Occasionally it’ll get really busy and the table service for drinks can dry up a bit but it’s just a quick trip to the bar.
Food is good, solid pub food with snacks and meals for everyone.
The recent change of ownership, and subsequent loss of decent craft beer options on tap is a bit frustration, especially with other nearby bars lacking options as well - it would see like an easy fix but one that the big brewery companies can’t be bothered with.
Otherwise, you’ll have a great meal here, good atmosphere and friendly staff.

Came here to try their Burger Wellington entry and, for the second year, it was fabulous! The server was kind and enthusiastic, the atmosphere felt very warm and local.
Yes, it’s off the beaten path if you live or are staying downtown but I strongly recommend Khandallah Trading Co.

Very friendly local pub, generous food with a slightly Indian theme, though the flavours play it safe for Kiwis. The staff here are always willing to try and find space for you even if they're really busy. We arrived 10 minutes before lunch ended and the chef was totally happy to keep the kitchen open till we were served. Carpark very handy, though usually full. Great community engagement with their Sunday night charity quiz.

Another pub another burger, mad dash to get another burger in for Wellington On A Plate. Good place for all the locals as it appeared there were a number of regulars drinking and eating when we got in. Popular place in the evenings so you may have trouble getting a carpark. From what I could see it might be tight for a wheelchair to get in?? Service was quick, friendly and polite. As for the burger it was great. I would definitely recommend the Trading Company and will be going back there again.

Being gluten intolerant, one think I pride Wellington on is the great GF food available when I go for brunch with my husband.
New to Khandallah, we decided to try this place for our first local brunch. It opens at 10, and that's when we arrived. We were greeted with a busy server who seemed surprised we were there and even had to check her watch.
The menu was ordinary and I had to ask if they did Gf brunch. She disappeared for a very long talk with the kitchen staff, and after a long time, started to explain how we could have a gluten free salad ( "for brunch?) Otherwise I could maybe have bacon and eggs with no toast since they didn't have any.
Needless to say we left, went to the best place in Khandallah, Automat, and had a chai latte and our order taken with a welcoming smile in minutes.
Ps they use Vogels GF bread, you can get it at the supermarket and freeze it if you need to.

Went to the local pub on Saturday afternoon for lunch. The burger I ordered was raw- not just too rare for me to eat, but undercooked and cold in the middle. They were good to make me another, although it arrived out to me nearly 45 minutes after my partner had finished his meal. This is the second time in a month I have asked the kitchen to remake my meal, cold eggs on toast last time. This is two of three meal experiences at the KTC, which is disappointing.

Service was excellent, however the jerk chicken is not good and I would not recommend this. The chicken was lacking in seasoning and there was none of the spice/heat/flavour that is expected in jerk chicken. It was luke warm when brought to the table and had to be sent back for reheating and every element in the dish lacked flavour.

Tonight I ordered your Buffalo wings, which is one of my favourite dishes. There is a reason Gordon Ramsay says "always taste the food before you serve it". I adore spicy food and there is not much I can't handle... however your wings were so spicy, they were totally inedible. I have eaten Buffalo wings all round the world, but I have never been served anything even half as spicy as yours. I paid for my meal but left it there almost untouched - pretty disappointing.

Got the caeaer salad with chicken... it had a couple of small over-cooked strips of bacon, small amount of over-cooked chicken and not much dressing. That plus a small juice for $24. Okay, but I've had better.

I came on a Monday with my family (2 for 1 mains Yuussss) and the staff were super friendly and helpful. My son has allergies so the waitress was very thorough and even got the chef to come and talk with us. Great service and excellent pub grub!

Came along tonight to try out the steak night and was one of the best nights out. As soon as we walked in we had excellent staff and our waiter Rory was so perfect. All night long he made sure everything was to our standard and made us feel really special. My warm brownie was just heaven !! It's not often you have such a perfect experience from the moment you walk in till when you leave. I'm so glad this is now our local pub and I can't wait to start coming along every Wednesday !! Thanks so much everyone you were outstanding !
