My partner and I stopped in here for a quick bite on Saturday 29th July. This is our go to roast place.
We both ordered the roast pork roll, hers was meat only and I get everything on it. Plus couple cans of 250ml V green. Generous amount of meat on both rolls and the gravy always makes it. Always delicious every time we come here.
Staff are always friendly and smiling.

I had the best pork roast lastnight,meat was perfect fat ratio and soft as hell ,i wouldve taken a picture but i ate it all and wasnt expecting to do a review but it was that good

Always super yummy, we generally get the pork (if you're early enough sometimes extra crackle) and it's always well cooked the veges are well cooked, not mushy at all. Plus friendly staff, nice and quick service too. Well, well worth it for a nice, easy good roast for dinner.

Best roasts in the wellington region. I enjoy their lamb roast in particular. Their potatoes are scrumptious as well.

I've been coming here for around 10 years now. The service, food, taste, and music has stayed the same! Portions are enough to fill you up and the prices are reasonable.

Jville roast canteen is the best ! Their pork crackle is the best crackle me partner and I have ever eaten compared to all other roast places we’ve been too . The food is always so good and consistent and never fails to please us. Highly reccomend !

very friendly staff members and good clean environment. we went in at 8 and got a small pork meal, a pork roll and a chicken combo. the 2 pieces of chicken were big and yum, the veges were nice and fresh straight out of the oven. the pork was the best part and the crackling was great. will definitely go back again

Went to the Roast Canteen for the first time yesterday and it was probably one of the best tasting Pork Roasts I've had in ages!!!! Meat was succulent and cooked to perfection! Veges were good, and potatoes were crispy! Only things that didn't make this a 5 rating were that the gravy was a little to watered down, and there could have been a little more meat for a Large serving at $20. All in all, a pretty damn good experience.<br/><br/>Will definitely go again!

Based on reviews, I tried The Roast Canteen today, for the first time. I ordered a medium roast beef meal ($14.00).<br/><br/>It's a big portion. I could have got away with the small but looking at the size of the container I thought it wouldn’t be enough.<br/><br/>You get roast beef, roast potatoes and kumra, peas, carrots and gravy. I also asked for horseradish sauce.<br/><br/>The ratio wasn't quite right for me. There was a lot of meat; half the container. To be honest, I would have preferred more peas and carrots as you don’t get that much. I didn't finish the meat. It was a little dry but not too bad. Good amount of gravy. Peas and carrots were still firm. The potatoes were ok, bit bland but a little salt helped. The horseradish was good. Had a kick.<br/><br/>It was a good feed portion wise, but lacked a little something. All up it was reasonable.

Very tasty roast meals. Not overly pricey if you consider the portion sizes are very large. Two average adults could easier share a regular sized roast meal.
FOOD Wars
This is one of the tastiest roast places around! It's not tasteless like the average food court roast places. Their potatoes are a must. Can be quite an expensive takeaway dinner for a family of 5 so we don't go here that often. While they do have seating, the atmosphere is more a takeaway place. The place always looks so clean. The staff just serve, not extra fluffy service here.
