Review Cafe 93 - Wellington

Sala McCarthy-Stonex
Great selection of kai, inu, and treats. Order at the counter, table delivery, no fuss and no stress at this smorgasbord of goodness. My cousin got the salad and i grabbed a smoothie & club sammie. Prices are also brilliant—in this economy? Need good value places like these.

Customer service is cool. Staffs are really nice and welcoming. It's little small cafe with great foods but very busy during lunch time and the surrounding is bit nosiy. ( looks popular) The coffe is what I asked for. Not much available for vegan. Price is quite fair with the quantity. And Now I'm kinda daily customer.

A warm place that you could get a sumptuous brekky, lunch, and dessert. Coffee was great as well. The staff are friendly. Yum yum yum.

I like it, was a very humble place with humble prices, and quiet cosy environment. Very well round and my scrambled egg were delicious 😋. I couldn't finish it, and I'm sorry about that.

It is the most welcoming place. The food is first class ( mostly home made)

The best coffee on Molesworth Street! Always great service, friendly staff with a lovely atmosphere :)

Fantastic staff are very friendly and have only had coffee from here in the mornings, but it's great. The food menu looks good as well

Great food, great prices and great hospitality - the staff were extremely accommodating. Even though there wasn’t a lot of room for my pram - they made it work - made catching up with my corporate colleagues a breeze :) Thank you

They know my coffee order!! The breakfasts are great. Staff always friendly. My local go-to.

Good food and good prices! I go here most days of the week since I work in the area, and I pretty much always have a good experience. They have a decent amount of gluten free options too, which is great 😁

Cute place, was a busy little cafe with a wide range of choice food wise. Friendly staff who clearly have a good reputation with repeat customers. Partner and I enjoyed it for a pre-work coffee and chat! He'd like it if there was a bit more pistachio in the pistachio slice was his only criticism haha.

This place is amazing, would definitely recommend coming here. We got the panini, creamy pasta and buttermilk pancakes, all were incredible. 10/10

I'm here because another cafe very close by wanted $21.00 for an Eggs Bennie. Dreamers. And I'm glad they did or else I would have missed this. 3 large rashers of perfectly cooked streaky bacon, well-cooked poached eggs, on toasted muffins with what appeared to be a home-made hollandaise. And 2 hash browns on the side all presented professionally on a large white plate with the obligatory parsley stalk. And all for $15.50. Yeah I've had better eggs bennie's before, but not at this price. Good product, good value. No photos because I left my phone in the car - next time.

Great Mee Goreng, keep going back for that.

Cute place up the street from the parliament building. We only had coffee but it was delicious.

Came here yesterday and ordered the open steak sandwich and it was beautiful! A huge plate of steak, chips, a fried egg on toast and salad, all just for $17! I was very impressed, super good value for money :)

Just had their Light Breakfast there this morning. Terrible. Hash browns from a PaknSave bulk freezer bag, scrambled eggs that was basically an omlette at best. Door stopper pieces of bread. Would have scored a 0 if that was an option. Not recommended for breakfast unless you fancy sampling a taste of a NZ backyard cafe back in the 70's.

My wife and I came here for lunch
The food was beautiful and very good value for $15
This place is very busy at times but if you are having a late lunch, this is the place.
New World is across the road as well
We’ll definitely come back

Great option for breakfast in the Thorndon area. Clean modern interior, good counter food, quick service and the staff friendly.

The Malaysian breakfast omelette was delicious and coffee good.
Cafe 93 is our comfort lunch spot, our "usual" when we can't think of anywhere else to go.

The food is pretty delicious - I haven't had anything from their cabinets, but have tried a few things off the menu and haven't been disappointed yet. Definitely recommend their current special, the lamb curry, or the Guadalupe salad.

Coffee can be a hit and miss - I had a delicious latte yesterday, although other times it has either been too weak or burnt. Definitely get a lot of drink for your buck though.

Definitely will be back for our usual sibling lunch though!
A convenient cafe that is located just at the bottom of the work building.

Their sweet food is not worth buying, I have made the mistake of convenience to buy myself an afternoon sweet treat. The slice I tried was almost rock hard, the cake was stale and the cookie was a very odd texture. In my books three strikes you're out.

As for their cabinet savoury food, it's pretty mundane. They have all the basics – scones, muffins and a pretty good selection of salads and sandwiches. But I just find that there is nothing special about them. Though I am yet to try their food off the menu.

I have tried their coffee a few times, and I find the cups too large, and the coffee is either too weak or burnt.

Sarah Reynolds #challenge

Love this place. Great Laksa's and Mee Goreng. Highly recommend anyone try them. It gets a little busy at lunch but it is to be expected in a busy CBD. The workers also cope well with the rush.

I had a quick lunch here today. Super friendly staff and the food was delicious! I had the lamb curry & rice special at $10 it was great value and the best lamb curry I've had in a long time. I'll be coming back for sure.

My favourite place for lunch on weekdays (close to work), I go there almost every day!
I tried other cafes around but always go back there, the cabinet food is fresh, varied, healthy, prices are fair, and I usually don't have to wait much for counter food.
Just a pity they don't have a fidelity card for good customers like me :)

Yesterday I felt like a cooked breakfast rather than my usual bowl of weetbix at work, so I popped into Cafe 93. They do a good pot of tea - it's actual tea leaves with a quaint little strainer for the cup and a little bowl to sit the strainer on. I got 3 cups out of the one pot so was happy. I had the eggs benedict with salmon - the eggs were poached perfectly, the hollaindaise had a touch of mustard which flavoured it beautifully. It came with 2 small triangular pre-made hashbrowns, which I generally don't like, but I ate them anyway because they did well to soak up the sauce. I have had the apple & cinnamon porridge and the nachos there in the past and they have both been
very good. The staff tend not to move much from behind the counter but are very friendly. It gets quite packed & noisy at lunch times but I will keep going back.

2016:
Gigantic unmissable piece of plastic in my salmon eggs benny (???)

June 2017:
Hubby & I went back for brekkie - had the usual eggs benny. The hash browns were dry and overcooked. His had residual traces of hollandaise, like it had been scraped from the bottom of the jug, and mine had none. It was almost as if they couldn't be bothered making any & thought we wouldn't notice. Eggs benny is all about the hollandaise swirling into a runny yolk ... wouldn't notice?!? I don't think so. After a bit of a rant, hubby got one of the meals refunded. Both should have been discounted. The lady on the till was rather unfriendly ans stated she just worked there ...

2019:
Salsa is one of the key components of nachos.... but at Cafe 93 the nachos are served without it. So you pay $14 for a teaspoon of guacamole, a teaspoon of sour cream, and microwave meat mix. I went across to New World and bought a pot of Old El Paso hot chunky salsa to add to it. Which gave it all the flavour and taste.

Price range:cheap???????! It's $7 for a milkshake!!!!!! We have been here a few times not good!!! It took about 6 minutes to get our one milkshake when there was heaps of staff and we were the only customers!!! This place is very expensive. The biscuit base of the caramel slice is soooo hard. I can't cut it with my knife!! Would not recommend this place to anyone.
Caffeinated Weka
Our usual haunt, just around the corner from work. Helen always looks after us and makes sure we get out coffee and food just how we like it. :-)
