Wow!! I ordered a chicken fillet burger with extra bacon and a curry roll and I am amazed! It was super delicious and I ordered it as a late night snack to eat when I got hungry, but I instantly demolished the burger as soon as I arrived home. I have never had such a great burger that wasn't from WOAP. Great job!!

As you’d expect, Chinese food with Kiwi characteristics. Fast, friendly service. Rudimentary sit-down dinning experience but basically a takeaway with tasty dishes available 非常好👍

The chicken burgers are incredible; the fish and chips are excellent; and the Chinese takeaways are also pretty good here. The wontons are a bit under par (sausage meat), but the rest of the dishes are well cooked with a good amount of meat. This is a good choice for a range of choices.

The typical NZ fish and chips and Chinese food place. Not necessarily my type of food but it's popular in NZ - so it's good for what it is. Their chippies are quite good and they are a staple in the community. They also have kumera fries which are yummy. Currently $7 for a decent portion.

Second time at this place, and just as yummy. I had a steak and cheese toasted sandwich, and a Bacon and Egg Burger. Both were yummy and well constructed with good flavors and cooked just right. You need to try their Spring Rolls, they are home made and are super delicious. Fresh cabbage, carrot, onion, and (I think) a bit of chicken mince all wrapped in filo pastry, and cooked crispy and hot. Their choice of Chinese meals is plentiful and very tasty, and the servings are generous.

Great Fish and Chips. Scallops good size, lovely fish. Looked forward to the hot dog as they are very hard to find the real ones up north. Still well priced.

Best fish and best burgers I've ever had from a fish n chip shop. Really recommend and the chinese meals are pretty impressive too. Would like to see home-made chips added to the menu potentially. The staff are very friendly.

The Food Snob

Family operated and conveniently located close to the beach, this place pumps over Summer and is affordable and fairly quick. The fish isn't as good as Bay Takeaways, but it's still reasonable for the price. I'm not a fan of the pork buns, but I like their combo packs for fish n chips. Really good, I've been here about 15 times and enjoyed it each time. Staff are friendly too, even when they seem a bit under the pump!

Fu Xian is one of the local chippies, this one is nearest the beach. It is very popular with locals and you can expect to wait 30-40mins during peak times. Their fish and chips are very good without being great, though adding salt and vinegar makes for a very tasty meal. Their burgers are the jewel in the crown; large, tasty and extremely good value. The Chinese is the disappointingly inauthentic NZ variant; festooned with broccoli and cauliflower, but the Egg Foo Young is tasty a little more recognisable.

Excellent fish n' chips. Their burgers are excellent. Incredible value and full of flavour. Only 6.90. Look forward to trying their 'asian' menu. They certainly do the kiwi classic well.

This is a great place to order from. Large menu and slightly cheaper than surrounding places. Burgers, deep fried and chinese dishes are all good quality. Black bean and fried rice dishes are especially good. (Small cheeseburgers are a winner too).

This is our local fish and chip shop. Every meal I have had has been great, especially the sweet and sour pork dish. The chips are really good to.

Mostly Asian

The absolute best sweet and sour pork and rice! Went back there. Cold and stale tasting chips with no flavour. Their satay chicken was just plain strips of chicken with no satay part to it whatsoever. Not going back.
