Great atmosphere. Located on the first floor of the Grand Arcade at the beginning of Willis Street in Wellington city. The food was great as well as the service. Our food was served really quickly so I will go there again. You can have the view from the windows seatings. Wheel chairs can access from the lifts on the ground floor. There are also comfortable couches at the side.

Went to the Lava Cafe this morning for breakfast, I got the $7.50 breakfast special and my partner got the omelette. Meals were delicious, mine was the perfect size as I wasn’t too hungry. Coffee was hot , strong and perfect ! One of the best coffee’s I’ve had in Wellington!

Pretty busy but large spot and they seem to handle the number of customers reasonably well. A friend and I visited today to try the pho, Vietnamese beef noodle soup after waiting about 15 mins (not bad given how busy they were) we received our large bowls of soup. The pho is OK, it has fat floating on top which coats your mouth and little depth of flavour. I was reaching for the chilli sauce to try and give it a little something. Wouldnt return for the pho but they have plenty of other options

Had the breakfast special of a poached egg on toast with a homemade hash brown and 1/2 tomato. Was really yum and came out reasonably quick, even when they were really busy.

Had breakfast with a friend here today. The breakfast special is good, good price and tasty food. We had the poached egg with bacon, toast and hashbrown. <br/>The service was a bit weird though as my friend tried to order and the lady did not understand at all what the order was. So my friend had to call her husband over to come and explain what we wanted... But annoying. The waitress that brought the food was friendly and helpful though. <br/>Not sure i would go here soon again, but the special might see us in the future.

We've had lunch here several times. It's nice and spacious, the service is prompt and unobtrusive, and the food is usually very good. Great coffee, too. A positive all-round lunch experience, with pleasant staff.

Great place for breakfast, and cafe, the Louis is best Barista I ever seen in his task of duty, congratulations Loui. The breakfast is amazing taste, and freshly made.

We love coming here for breakfast. The food was very fresh, delicious and nicely presented. Friendly staff and great coffee. The cafe is spacious so you don't sit too close to other people. We wish they would open at weekends so we could come here for brunch!
