Review Meet Fresh - Wellington

Really nice desserts. Prices are reasonable. Place is alright, but sometimes gets so noisy when it become busy as the place is a bit small. The "Signature Herbal Jelly" is the best dessert ive tried so far.

We ( group of 6) were disappointed the first time we went right after it's grand opening - staff wasnt properly trained, two orders of the same dessert came out different (one a lot more diluted than the other one), but they were not keen in making it right and told us that's just how it is. We've been back a few times after that (but not in groups) and feel that it has gotten better.

I loved the chicken salad I had with chilli & lime chilli & situan sauce with nuts. Would definitely go back again. Great service. Friendly atmosphere.

Popular Asian dessert joint. The desserts are ok.. I would prefer ice cream or one of the asian shaved ice places instead :p
Mari S
Love their bubble milk tea, don't know about other desserts though.

Love the atmosphere and the food here. The deserts are amazing. This is a real hidden gem.

Come here for the dessert bowls ... I wouldn't get anything else. Wish they took credit cards.

One of the only few places for Taiwanese/Asian style dessert. This shop/chain offers a large variety of shaved ice, sago, purple rice, taro-ball and tofu desserts as well as drinks.

I find the shaved ice to be little too thick, and sometimes have to chew and bite into the ice which I don't find comfortable with. The sweetness is perfect, and the portion of the toppings is really balanced.

The drinks are a little less impressive; they are quite small and expensive.

I would come here for their desserts again.
7/10

Meet Fresh has been in Wellington for a while now and we didn’t discover it until this month. Now that we know it exist we will be coming back.

There is a good variety of desserts and drinks. We had the taro ball snow flake ice and icy taro ball no. 3 or 4 (sorry can't remember). The portions are a good size and the ingredients tasted fresh. The only criticism is the price, it is much more expensive than Meet Fresh Taiwan. We will be back as special treats rather than be a regular.

The advertised phone number does not work, best to communicate via Facebook Messenger.

The dessert was just fine, but the lady with short hair who served us on Tuesday the 2nd was extremely hard-working and patient 👍 Impressive! She did all the things by herself and it was so crowded that night!

Absolutely horrible services. One my favourite asian desserts yet they just had to ruin it. Went into the place, ordered herbal jelly no3 and 6 with extra taro balls - which what i ordered EVERY SINGLE TIME. 1st worst experience - paid extra for it & take it home with NO TARO balls in it. I let it go n thought i will give them advice when i go in next. Returned few nights later for 2nd worst nightmare -ordered same stuff again. And this time what did i know when i get home - few pieces of jellies in iced water. WTH. I did not just paid $18.50 for this craps. Drive all the way back to town to let them know but what did i get back. Waited for 15min n she said her manager said its more likely my faults as they make this stuff every day. No way they will likely make mistakes. N she gave me their menu to go home and have a read carefully so i can order right stuff next time. I dont know how u do business but surely i will not return even if im desperate for asian desserts

I love all the strange and wonderful things that come with Asian desserts. I also love the fact that it's always open late! The service is so so

Came to meet fresh for some afternoon desserts. We were the only table at the store so we had our food quite quickly after we ordered. The size and proportion was quite small compared to what we had in Auckland and the service was just fine.

My friend and I decided to have a refreshing and light dessert after dinner. The tofu pudding with boba is smooth and silky however the palm sugar syrup was a bit weak and tasteless perhaps it was submerged with too much liquid or just not enough syrup. The matcha with boba and red beans was okay but after 3-5 sips again the flavour was not that strong as well. However for overall experience I still enjoyed this place. If you are out and about late at night, this would be a great place to hang out.

Came here this evening. Ordered the tofu soup with peanuts. Not overly sweet which was nice. Fairly clean but not much atmosphere. Its a cheap and cheerful but could have more warmth. Quite sterile. Probably would get the tofu far somewhere else as quite expensive at $8.50.

I love this place! The place is amazing, not so crowded (at least when I came on Friday) and the service was also amazing, the girl knows about the menu very well, so I didn't waste too much time on figuring out the best dessert for me. I got the red bean with vanilla ice something, I don't know the real name, and I loved it! The only problem is the music, because I didn't hear any happy music or any music suitable for summer-vibe. Other than that, I really recommended this place.

Currently our favorite dessert place for the bingsu (very fine shaved ice dessert korean style). We only come for the desserts and bubble teas. All asian style-- green tea ice cream, tofu puddings different flavors, crystal jelly, grass jelly, boba, bubble tea, mochi, egg pudding (yum!). They have dessert waffles too, served with asian desserts instead of the usual maple syrup. I would have rated a 5 but prices are a tad high. All tables taken save one when we came, but no issues with order length. (our pic has waffles with green tea ice cream and sweet red bean paste side, shaved ice with boba and egg pudding.

If you want to wait 30 mins for take away for the simplest item on the menu, you've found it. While I waited 30 mins for my take away, 2 customers asked for their money back due to the long wait. Many customers who ordered before me all approached the counter asking about their orders. WTF.

Huge serving size! Plenty of variety to choose from. Glad there are Chinese pudding pudding in NZ, yet to try out other pudding for a more comprehensive review! Can't compare with those overseas, but not a bad job.

I have tried the slushys and herbal jellies. They are quite nice and there are heaps of great choices however it is very overpriced. Have been there a few times and sometimes it takes a while to get your order.

When I think of going to a restaurant with a name like ‘Meet Fresh’, I imagine myself going into a salad bar like Kapai where everything is green and red and purple, and a Greek salad and Winter Warrior Juice are the Choices du Jour, so what a silly name it is for a Asian style dessert joint where nothing is truly fresh. Now, don’t get me wrong, Meet Fresh is a popular shaved iced franchise from my native country, Taiwan. I was over the moon with joy when I heard that Meet Fresh is coming to Wellington, which means that I don’t have to make a 30 minute trek down George Street in Sydney to get my fix in China Town every time I am there.

Checked out there a couple of times, the warm dessert is quite yum and the ice cream is all good. The bubble milk tea and No4 taro things are recommended to have a go.

We visited the Windy Capital over Waitangi weekend for an exhibit at Te Papa.
On Sunday lunch, we headed down to Meet Fresh for some bites and to catch up with friends.

Upon entering the store, it was well kept and clean. We promptly sat down and looked at the menu. Spoilt for choice! I ordered traditional classic - herbal grass jelly with taro/kumara balls and peanuts, etc. Hot, of course!

We were given a buzzer which would make a noise when our order was ready. We had a bg group so about half of our order was ready at the same time, followed by a second batch. The food didn't take too long.

My herbal grass jelly was warm and not hot when I received it! (You can tell because of the gelatinisation process when it cools down). I asked the lady to heat it up for me, which she said she wasn't able to do but could add more of the hot mixture in - which I agreed to.

Overall, everyone enjoyed their food, great catch up, great portions, there were a few of my friends who couldn't finish theirs! Especially the big mountains of shaved ice - enough for 2 to 3 people, I reckon! The service was quite decent, too.
Would come back again!
