Sweet to see the old Mount Cook cafe keep going well, the lovely young owner offer the local residents nice food, also keep the original deco style as before, i think it is the nice way to maintain its history and the connections.

Awesome food, prepared nice and fast and is super cheap as well. Place itself is a bit outdated so you’re better off getting takeaways but the food is amazing and definitely worth a bit of travel.

Nice Cafe situated in the heart of Mt Cook. Great coffee and food and although we were the only ones there the food came out quickly. Prices are on oar with other cafes and the service was good. Love sitting by one of their big windows with the sun streaming in, if your looking for a good feed or a quick coffee you can't go past Mt cook Cafe.

The food is fantastic here. Well worth stopping to have a coffee and breakfast. Staff are lovely and the service is very fast. I highly recommend the eggs Benedict as they do one of the best ones I have had in Wellington while I’ve been living here.

I have been here a couple of times recently and really rate the food. Good solid Asian food and at a good price. Doesn't look much from outside but is a great local option if you're around the Mt Cook area.

Probably the best chicken in Wellington.

First time customer and the serving sizes are very generous. Beautiful fresh, well cooked food. A real gem in our neighbourhood. We will be back 😊

Lovely sunny cafe with atmosphere & good coffee. If you are not a local it will be hard to find parking as it's near the university, so take the #10, #18, or #11 bus.

I had a Sinapore combination Fried Rice. It was very tasty and portion was also good. Liked it.

Took a bit longer than expected but was a big order. Reasonably easy to get to, even with the road works at the moment. The food was delicious, quickly devoured by us all.

We came in yesterday for some lunch/brunch and I was really disappointed. I ordered the smashed avocado and it cost $16.50 - at that price I expected something decent and competitive with Wellington cafes but what i got was cheap supermarket toasted thin wholemeal bread, three pieces - with a tiny bit of spread avocado on two of the three pieces of bread (nothing additional in the avocado - almost felt like avo spread not smashed fresh avo). With two non free range eggs poached using one of those stove topped poachers and that was it - for $16.50 i felt really cheated. My partner ordered fish and chips but we seriously feel like the fish was pre-battered supermarket bought again and really small amount of chips, once again at the price of $15 plus for that meal just not good enough. I have come to this place before in the past and a different experience - not sure if chnge in owners or menu but i wouldnt of served myself that avo smash if I made it at home at least get some nice bread if you are going to get it from the supermarket. Service was good though and they do $1 coffee with any meal which i thought was awesome

Worst food I've ever had, I could make it better at home without even trying. I wouldn't eat here again even if someone paid me. Vegetarian breakfast was sad, just likey they plonked a bunch of badly cooked veges, a deep fried hasbrown on $2 wholemeal bread. The ciabatta on another dish was so toasted you could break a tooth on it. Would not recommend at all

Chips were yum but nothing special. Service was okay. Nice location but also really expensive for what it is. Nice place to do some work and relax though.

This quiet innocuous cafe has become our go-to cafe for lunch or brunch. Beautifully poached eggs with crispy kranskys and buttery toast. Simple and well-prepared. What more could you ask? Why they also have sunny big window main dining room with additional smaller rooms in the back.

Very fast service. Coffee is okay. The food is great. The staff are always looking at ways to improve the food provided. The staff are always there to help.

I've been here a few times as it is right next to uni. The place is decorated in a quirky, homely manner, with a large outdoor garden area. They have a wide range of fresh, yummy looking cabinet food. I haven't tried any of the food yet, but their coffees are delicious and the service is good.

This is a cosy little cafe in one of my preferred parts of Wellington.
We got here about an hour before closing time on Sunday, so the kitchen was closed. It looked like there would have been a good selection for us to choose from had we turned up earlier. From the cabinet I chose the bacon and egg panini with bbq sauce, there wasn't enough sauce on it in my personal opinion.
The cafe is set in what looks like an old house, the wooden intetior gives it that cosy feel. The window seats make for a good place to people watch (or in Wellingtons case fashion watch). The walls are adorned with some really good NZ paintings which are for sale.
I can imagine that this place is really popular with the locals.

Parking can be hard but for those local it would not be an issue. Dined here with my parents and the staff were great at accommodating their individual preferences. Coffee was great, food fresh and pricing typical cafe levels. Would return.

Great food, good coffee, fast service. I eat here with family and friends often (it's my local) and not once have any of us had food or drinks that haven't been excellent. Other times I just pop in for a take out coffee and again the service is fast, friendly and efficient.

What a superb little cafe! The excellent barista (who is perhaps Korean?) really knows what she's doing. She's fast, efficient and makes awesome coffee. She had 4 coffees on a take-out tray good to go for me in a matter of 5 minutes at most.

the Mt Cook cafe has an array of treats that were very tempting too. I just had a little morsel of turkish delight. Yum.

Great ambience, and lots of nooks and crannies to find a space to settle down in.

We have just enjoyed, to the max, the big breakfast at the Mt Cook Cafe. Was so big, we got doggie bags. Taste sensation. The staff were lovely and the place nice and warm on a cold day. The display of food in the cabinets were mouth watering.

Definitely one of my favourite cafes in wellington, it brings in alot of sun is a bit away from the city which is also nice. Me and my close friend come here all the time as we really enjoy the food and friendly service, would easily recommend this place to anyone wanting a nice cafe to try or bring visitors from out of town.

Came here today with a friend. Mount Cook Cafe has a very nice location. Cabinet food is real value for money, especially the paninis, there is also a good selection of vegetarian food. The 50's jazz/ swing lightens up the atmosphere on a cold wet Wednesday. Service was pleasant. Parking can be tight but it's in my walking distance so no complaints here!
