The sushi was good. The real MVP is the owner who is one of the friendliest people I've ever met. He took the time to greet every customer with a huge smile and little chat. He instantly brightened up my day with his warmth and I could tell all the other customers felt the same.

It's a hidden little place, I never noticed it before today. Such a friendly staff member and the sushi was half price when I went there! I'm not sure what is called but I also got this deep-fried curry thing, and I highly recommend. Very good value for the price.

Large excellent pieces of salmon sashimi for a very reasonable price. There is no ambience (other than the friendly owners): some high stools, and four chairs around a table, but the food makes it worth it -- there is significant variety, good quality and great pricing. The hot gyoza (choice of beef or pork) were excellent.

I've been to a lot of the sushi places around Wellington, and IMO Domo Sushi is one of the best. The staff are always very friendly and talkative, the sushi tastes really nice and is well presented, and they have some good flavours which you would t find at the other sushi stores.
This place also feels quite a bit more authentic than the other sushi stores around.

Tiny place, so don't expect a huge variety (I know some reviewers have strange expectations sometimes which is a bit unfair to the eatery), but what they do have has been fresh tasting, prices average, and the staff are friendly. Never very crowded either, so you can easily pop in if you're crunched for time.

The staff are outstanding and the presentation of the sushi sets the bar very high, to a new level for this end of Wellington I would say... I had a good mix of the sushi and was keen to get stuck in... on doing so I was a little ho hum at the flavour overall but I would give it another go and will update the review. Very inviting and I think many people would return based solely on the service from the guy behind the counter if nothing else. Other retailers should mystery shop here for a lesson in real genuine service and see the smiles he puts on peoples faces.

Tried a while ago, haven't gone anywhere else for my daytime sushi. The Sushi and the Meals on the Board directly in-front of you as you walk in are equally as genuine as the guys who run the place. <br/><br/>Great service; each customer is treated with a personal touch, and the main guy Daniel can give you all the info you need about his meals and sushi.<br/><br/>I love the Curry Udon Noodle dish, and the Japanese Curry Rice dish the Teriyaki Noodle dish is very sweet as they tell me it's real Teriyaki Sauce which you can have with either Beef of Chicken.<br/><br/>everything is affordable, and the quality surpasses their pricing.<br/><br/>I've been a genuine regular since discovering Domo Sushi.<br/><br/>well worth the visit, and I reccomend the meals, not just the Sushi.<br/><br/>Excellent Genuine and Authentic Japanese.

I checked it out yesterday and would agree with the previous reviewer. Friendly service and an appetising selection, all of which turned out to be delicious - and very good value for what you get. Do try it! I'll certainly be a regular customer.

By far the best Sushi I have had in NZ. Fresh with subtle flavours, the rice is perfection. It’s more expensive than say St peters, but its well worth it. In addition the staff are so lovely, they make you feel welcome and are always so happy to see you. 10 out of 10.
