It's exactly what you'd expect from a chocolate cafe, chocolate, and hot drinks. Extremely well done. The chocolate is very balanced and nice as well as the drinks. The aesthetic is casual diner/luxury, gold, spruce, and black. Nice place for chocolate lovers, great spot.

Gourmet Chocolate @ Butlers Chocolate Café. . Chanced upon this specialist gourmet chocolatier and coffee chain serving handmade chocolate-based confectionery sweets, and savoury pastries and sandwiches. Was intrigued. . All of their Hot Chocolate has a medium thin yet velvety smooth texture, carrying rich flavour. . The Hot Chocolate Dark (NZD $7.60) has chocolatey bitter sweet earthy flavour, deep and strong in taste. . The Hot Chocolate White (NZD $6.60) has chocolatey milky sweet buttery flavour, bold and decadent in taste. . The Hot Chocolate Peppermint (NZD $7.60) has chocolatey minty sweet milky flavour, sharp and refreshing in taste. . Fortunate that a piece of Gourmet Chocolate was served with each order of a hot chocolate beverage, so I had the opportunity to sample these. . The Chocolate Dark Sea Salt Caramel features a fragile dark chocolate shell filled with thick sea salt infused caramel, robust with chocolatey bitter sweet salty flavour. . The Chocolate White Almond Truffle features a fragile white chocolate shell filled with a crunchy whole almond nut, robust with chocolatey milky sweet nutty flavour. . The Chocolate Milk Mango Lemongrass features a fragile milk chocolate shell filled with a thin lemongrass cream and topped with chewy mango zest, robust with chocolatey fruity earthy herbal sweet flavour. . The Sausage Roll (NZD $6.40) here is a hefty fella, packed with tender juicy minced beef and diced carrots in a crisp flaky puff pastry shell. With bold meaty savoury salty spice vegetal sweet bready flavour, this sausage roll was rather filling for a snack, doubling as a light meal.

Oh wow! The dark hot chocolate is AMAZING! Also the dark salted caramel chocolate I was gifted was divine!!!

A very quaint chocolate cafe. Iced chocolate was superb and chocolate selection is great. The cake we had was disappointing, perhaps they need a new baker. Nice place to go to though!

Super delicious sweets, the lemon cheese cake is awesome like everything. The taste is incredible, coffee has a great strong taste. I love the shop. Staff is very friendly

It was am experience. The chocolates themselves were amazing and I'd try them all if they weren't so expensive (that is what you'd expect from a store like this so not marking down for that) the waffles were okay. They seemed to be from frozen and the chocolate sauce tasted like something my father used to make with coco and milk. The hot chocolate weren't as decadent as I expected from a place like this.

This is my second time here and the chocolate, service and atmosphere is just amazing! I truly i have a weakness for excellent chocolate and this is a good place in New Zealand that you can find it without being over power by sugar flavor. I had this time a hot peppermint chocolate, a salted caramel tart and the Irish cream complementary chocolate and everything was so delicious! The staff here is always friendly and had really good recommendations if you ask for them.

Wow that was an incredible hot chocolate. On a dreary Wellington Monday, we enjoyed popping into the golden warm glow of Butlers Chocolate cafe. They use real chocolate for the drinks and even gave us a little chocolate gift as well. Very sweet so I won’t be having these every day!!

awesome chocolates,lovely staff,we were delayed merely 2-3 minutes and the attendant kindly offered us free chocolates which we nicely indulged in... Accessible,no baby change but clean loos.small-ish place but usually most cafes would be like this so haven't taken the star away 😝🤘🏽

The most delicious hot chocolate and chocolate brownie. Warm friendly atmosphere. Definitely recommend and will visit on my next trip to Wellington. Thank you!

Fantastic selection chocolate and accompanying / pairing drinks. Try the gin infused praline! The staff are delightful. Excellent service and friendly smiles. It can get very busy at times. There are great chocolate gift ideas available on display in store.

Lots of options, a bit expenny but you get a free choc with a large size. Staff are lovely and seating for 15 ish people.

Exceptional service, chocolates, hot drinks and slices. Superb value for money with the dining deal for all three items for two people. With so many choices on offer we had some tough decision making ahead but the friendly staff gave us the time and even some suggestions! We enjoyed our afternoon tea on the upstairs balcony which we had all to ourselves.

So nice hot chocolate and desserts! Included a piece of chocolate with your drink. Chocolate was also nice. 😊
