Review Joe’s Food World - Wellington

This is the most underrated place ever! The fried chicken is incredible , among the beat I've ever had. The Chinese food is also really good and great value for money. Definitely a take away kinda place and leas of a sit down restaurant, there are chairs and tables available if you need.

I'm always craving for Chinese food in johnsonville but the one I have try in johnsonville are pretty bad, until I try Joe's food world. The dish I order is the chicken fried rice with cashews nut, the rice is so good, not dry but with tone of flavour in it. I would definitely recommend to my friends and family. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

We occasionally go to here for the smorgasbord and have always had great food. Haven't tried other meals here

This was the first time we have ordered food from Joe's Food World, and it won't be the last. Delicious! We had the combination seafood chow mien, the pork and the chicken pineapple chow mien and the orange chicken. All yummy. Beats cooking!!

Great service. Would be good if they used a little more salt on the chips though.

think its definitely improved from previous reviews.
we've been few times now, ordered large smorgasbord (good choice) and tasted good.
ordered egg spring onion rice and Sichuan chicken. really enjoyed them.

definitely going back.

smells so good when you are waiting for your order.

Overpriced food!!!

I tried the crispy chicken, chicken cashews and chicken fried rice. The only decent meal was the chicken fried rice.

Oh and the service is horrible!!!

Friendly staffs and wide choices of food :) recommended by one of my friends. In overall, it's a good place to get Chinese food in a short time

Was excited to try this place when we first moved to the area, we love a good chinese takeout. I don't particularly fancy smorgasbord so we ordered off the menu. Sweet and Sour Pork, Chicken Chow Mein, Combination Fried Rice, Brisket Noodle Soup and Wonton Soup. It was all a bit underwhelming to say the least not one dish really jumped out at me. Not a lot of flavour it's fair to say we have only been here once in the past 2 years.

I've been walking past Joe's for a couple of years. Always been intrigued to try but assumed it wouldn't be that great. I also wondered how fresh the food would be. Although, they do seem to replenish the trays regularly.
You don't know until you try, so I went in for a Chinese one night.
I like how you can choose several options to go in your tray in this kind of eatery - which is one of the reasons I wanted to try it - to get some variety. I find it strange how everything from the Chinese takeaway comes on/with rice. So you end up buying only two dished and have loads of rice you don't eat. I prefer ordering a number of smaller dishes and then, if I want, ordering ONE rice.

I tried the small $10.00 tray. I got the spicy noodles, Sweet and sour pork, Beef in black bean sauce and the chicken and vegetables.

Friendly staff and they put a good amount in the tray.

The sweet and sour pork was a bit chewy, the spicy noodles were a bit stodgy and salty. The chicken chow mein and beef and black bean were fresher tasting and quite garlicy but the veg was firm.

All up I felt it was average – at best.

Was a fan of the smorgasboard until I was put off by the rancid fish bites I received. Also the sweet and sour pork is all sweet and not much else.Mixed results, and they really need to start being more cautious serving food that's turned bad as never a good look

I have had many takeaways and dine ins at Joes I've always found the staff very friendly and helpfull and the meals very good and appertising.

The smorgasbord has so many dishes, I've never seen so many before and all so very fresh and tasty

I know at least two restaurant owners who get a meal from Joes on the way home

I have been here twice. The first time I was very happy with the service. The second - not so much! We were passing on the way home from Wellington. The lights were on, but the doors were closed. Someone inside crossed their thumb across their throat and then turned the lights off. The sign on the shop front indicated that they were open until 11pm - this was just after 10:30 on Saturday night. They are extremely rude and I will never buy from them again. I even phoned to ask for the owners name so I could complain. The person "Peter" who answered said that he didn't work there and that he couldn't help me and that I should phone tomorrow. FFS is this how we in Wellington are going to present ourselves to the world during the Rugby World Cup! if so give up now.

Their Wonton Soup is the best ever!!Good variety of take away here. Chinese buffet, fried chicken and fish n chips. Very big takeaway shop in ideal location. Plenty of parking in the vicinity. There is seating, but it's more a takeaway setting rather than a restaurant. Have never been disappointed with my order. Probably one of the most easiest accessible Chinese takeaway places in Johnsonville central.
