Not quite my local chippie, but one of the better ones in inner wellington. Does the usual fish and chips fare the hand cut chips are better than average and the sping rolls are good too. I usually phone in my order which works really well and is normally ready in 20. So you can just pay and collect, great on a busy friday. Garage project is also handily located accross the road for take away beers to accompany your feed

Not a big fan of the hot chips but like the kumara chips and the burgers with extra onion and pork buns ain't to bad and my son likes the hot dogs but overall still a good takeaway shop also the nice lady gave my son a Christmas present so that was nice of her thanks again.

Just came in from Vancouver a couple days ago and visited a few breweries before checking out this place right before it closed up.
The manager was so kind and did not rush us to finish up before their close at 9:30. The fish was just what I wanted after a couple pints, I liked the lighter battered option compared to the breaded but it was all great. Will be back for sure.

Definitely a no-frills establishment, but the food is quite tasty, and a good value. My fish dinner came with several potatoes' worth of chips, perfectly crisped, as well as two large fish fillets and cole slaw. It was so much food I couldn't finish it all -- which was really a tragedy, as it was so good!

I can't believe I've not discovered this fish and chip shop until now! A proper fish and chip shop, with proper chips not the basic frozen rubbish! Way better quality and price than other recommended places such as mt vic chippery.

Not bad at all. I had their home made fish patties, potatoe fritters, and half scoop of chips. Chips are home made and yummy. It's not a big flashy place, but well worth checking out.

Wellington has fish n chips around every corner but this place is a staple for many. Chips are so good I always end up getting extra scoops. Tip: you can request for Chicken salt instead of regular ;)

Love my local, <br/>Friendly service and quick to make my food. The fish is always crunchy and everything is nicely salted. The scollops and mussels are yum, which I find quite rare these days. Love the pork buns and bacon fritters, that's like a once a week for me. So good when I'm on a budget. Recommend if you're in the area!

The chips at least had a lot of potential. They appeared to be proper homestyle cut chips, which are absolutely my favourite and seem to be rare here for some reason.<br/><br/>But here's the thing. Everything...and I mean everything, was overcooked to the point where it was almost inedible.<br/><br/>The fish was completely ruined by the fact it was over cooked. Also any non run-of-the-mill fish was massively overprized as someone mentioned at around $9. If I had paid that much for a fish and it was overcooked...I'd be massively annoyed.<br/><br/>My other peeve was that everything else on the menu was un-ashamably bad quality frozen items.<br/><br/>I had a corn fritter...and aside from the fact that it was over-cooked, it actually was horrible mushy and tasteless.<br/><br/>Really not impressed. May try again...may not.

We had great expectations for this fish and chippie, but it just didn't have anything going for it. We found it a bit bizarre that they were charging $9.00 for a piece of battered terakihi so just went with the 'fish'. This tasted so foul and was so rubbery that we couldn't even eat it. Unfortunately the chips were also pretty substandard with many of them undercooked and clumped together. I'm sorry to say that this place seems like a bit of a downer in the middle of such a pleasant, quality set of community shops. We won't be giving it another try with all the other great places to eat nearby.

Always cooked to perfection. The fish fillets are massive and very tasty. Don't be fooled by the way this place looks the food is great, classic fish and chip shop. Pity they are closed Monday's.

Tried this Friday as I had heard alot about how good it was sadly it was horrible the fish was not fresh at all and I didn't even eat it the burger was average the chips were good but I was very disappointed wish I had of gone to supremo takeaways instead
