My partner and I have enjoyed multiple meals at this lovely cafe, and we are always greeted with the biggest smiles. The service is outstanding and the staff are always very attentive and kind. The food is delicious, with my partner being particularly fond of the Blueberry Smoothie. We 100% recommend !!

Ranjit was so warm and helpful when I arrived on a freezing Wellington day. The cafe is modern and airy ( good ventilation) yet warm. Coffees hot and strong. His berry smoothies are Next Level delicious . Highly recommend when next passing through Karori.

My favourite place to get Eggs Benedict, it’s sooo good! Yolk is perfect amount of runny, ham is delicious and they put on a generous amount of hollandaise. Delicious! The iced mocha is also super yummy with a ball of ice cream included!

I recommend this place. I have lunch here about once a week. The manager, Ranjit, is always smiling and friendly and they do the BEST fish and chips! Crisp and delicious.

I think it is the best cafe in the Wellington. Almost every day I go there for lunch or breakfast or coffee. Varieties of menu, perfect portions and so tasty. Specially their Boomerang mugs for takeaway coffee. Their customer service is outstanding.

Lovely servers, great atmosphere and fantastic food! I got a vege korma pie which was amazing! It’s so rare to find vegetarian pies I had to jump at the chance and loved it! Also got a chocolate milkshake which was incredible! Really good prices too! Would’ve loved to have tried their other meals which looked amazing though a bit out of my budget. Was a beautiful day so got to sit outside which topped off the whole experience! Will definitely be returning!

My friend and I ordered eggs benedict and hash stack with bacon and we weren’t disappointed. Nice little cafe with reasonable pricing. The staff were quite reserved which made for a lesser enjoyable experience, music could’ve been a little louder too to set a cool atmosphere. Other than that - I’m satisfied ☺️

Went there for breakfast couple of days back.. Ordered there hashstack and with bacon and coffee.. Came really fast.. Eggs were well poached and bacon cooked to perfection.. Good atmosphere and the positive side is that they got easy door to library, so you can even take your coffee and scone in library while reading your book.. Definately coming again with my friends and familly..

Stopped in as we were passing for lunch. Tea and coffee were good. I also ordered a ham and cheese toastie $7.50. Very tasty. <br/>Not a bad place to eat at. <br/>Though the tables had crumbs on them, quick wipe would be nice.

Food is standard bacon and eggs , fries that sort of thing . Nice to sit outside on a sunny day although fries tend to be undercooked and eggs over cooked . Nice array of cabinet food and next to library where you can take your scone etc in and enjoy a book while you relax .

This cafe is not quite hitting the mark. The food in the cabinet is tiny and looks like it's on the verge of being chucked out. Milkshakes are way too sweet. Coffee is average.

Bad experience. Noisy place, it's suppose to be quiet where it's next to the library but no it's not; baby was crying. Not much food choice and unfriendly service.

Normally my biking Friend and me go to Karori Park cafe most Saturday mornings after a bike ride up Makara Peak. I decided to try Cafe on the Square on Sat 10th Sep. I ordered eggs benedict with mushrooms + flat white for $21. <br/>So disappointed in service, the young man who took my order had to re ask what coffee when already I spoke clearly & slowly...obviously he did not have my undivided attention as most barrista do. He did not welcome me when he took my order - a simple "Hi" would cost $0.00.<br/>The young lady who brought over my coffee, then my food, did not even say one word, she just put the coffee and food on the table and walked away. Very disappointed.<br/>The same young man actually went up to a couple and asked if they were on holiday or something as they spoke with a small English ascent - maybe he thought they were a visitor for the rugby world cup.<br/>Neither of these young man/lady had any service skills.

We went there last Sunday for brunch. We had to clear one of 3 empty tables. The door was propped wide open; very cold, and the sun was blinding; it would be difficult to find a table where this wasn't the case. Very small and cramped; we were squeezed in next to the toilets (out of order) and a kids' play area.<br/><br/>When we placed our order, the lady came back and said that our food would take at least half an hour. It did! - and then they had got one of the meals wrong. They replaced it without quibble, but this meant that we had to wait even longer - and sit and watch each other eat! Meanwhile, kids were running wild..<br/><br/>The food was excellent. My eggs Montreal were perfect, and my husband's full breakfast was also delicious: good quality ingredients and beautifully cooked. We forgave everything! Other people's meals all looked lovely as well.<br/><br/>If you want a good nosh and don't mind being uncomfortable, do try it. For a leisurely, peaceful Sunday morning brunch - don't even think about it!

Great friendly and accommodating staff - always willing to go the extra mile - I am gluten and lactose intollerant and this cafe has the best gluten free orange cookies in town and very happy to make my coffee with the milk I provide - top marks for customer service

Does buying a takeaway coffee & custard square count as an experience? In my somewhat limited life it does... I bought both today and was given lovely service by a very committed barista who consulted me closely on the amount of chilli I wanted in my coffee. I felt relaxed just leaving the joint. The custard in the square could have done with a little more (vanilla) flavour, but am otherwise very happy.
