Review The Cowshed Cafe - Westport

Wow, tried to visit this lovely place in the summer when I was down but no spaces as so popular. I can definitely see why now . From the moment you walk into The Cowshed you are greeted by happy staff. We found a spare table and someone came up straight away with a great menu , so much to choose from . All food looked amazing , my friend went for the vegetarian breakfast and I went for the shroomy Toast with poached eggs , amazing presentation and the taste with mouthwatering. I was talking to the manager/owner Charlie lovely man , he informed me that on Thursdays evenings running up to Christmas they have live music in their newly renovated barn which as you can see from the pictures was lovely , I believe this can be rented out for events . The whole experience was lovely and I would definitely be coming back again. Will be recommending this to my friends.

First visit for us since the refit we fancied a nice cooked breakfast on a sunny Sunday morning and The Cowshed was our first choice. When we arrived about 1030am, it was busy but there were a good selection of tables available, both inside and out. It was already quite warm so we decided to sit inside. The tables and chairs were laid out in such a way that you didn't feel cramped and the side stable door was open to let in some well needed cooler air. We were greeted quickly and soon placed our drinks and food orders. I had a cow breakfast and my wife went for her standard eggs benidict. The food was brought over within 15 minutes and was well worth the wait. A far cry from the processed food associated with many high street food chains, this was proper, local sourced ingredients. Even as I write this, I'm feeling very hungry!! Anyway, I just felt that I needed to post this positive review. I wish the team all the best in their new venture and hope to visit the cowshed very soon.

Went for a birthday brunch with a friend about 9:30 on a weekday morning. It was quite quiet when we arrived but lovely atmosphere, nice & relaxed. We went for the back corner booth table which was lovely. I had coffee which was nice but not strong enough for my liking. My friend had tea. I had avocado toast with eggs which was delicious! My friend had the Cowshed breakfast which she enjoyed. The staff were lovely & friendly & didn't try to rush us out even though we were on a big table and it was pretty much full with people arriving constantly by the time we were finished. Will definitely go back.

Very like a french cafe with outdoor seating. Fabulous gluten free menu and you can get a beer as well. I had GF salad nicoise followed by the largest slice of GF fresh cream victoria sponge I had ever seen. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff, well worth a visit.

I'm so glad we've found this place! We had breakfast on a Saturday morning. We ordered the Full English and a Breakfast Bagel (finally somewhere that serves a bagel on their menu!!!) Food and Coffee were amazing. Atmosphere, decor and service brilliant. Will definitely be returning for another breakfast and to try the lunch menu too!! Wanted to ask what sausages, bacon and brown sauce they used as all were incredible!!!

Amazing place, used to be known as the courtyard years back. good quality home cooked food with fantastic, helpful, friendly service. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, cakes and afternoon teas. Ample parking surrounded by cute little shops. It's a must visit, you won't be disappointed.

I feel like I want to move from Poole so I can frequent this place more often - what a delight to find a place that has gone that extra mile on the breakfasts rather than making the usual offerings. The staff are kind, helpful and enhance the experience. Thank you. I highly recommend the homemade veggie/vegan sausages. It is almost a crime that they are not available as a frozen option to take home :) A lovely lively courtyard with local crafts adjoins the outdoor seating area. Great spot. 100% my favourite breakfast place, I do need to extend this to the later offerings.

Just wanted to say the Cowshed was so welcoming and amazing! Went there yesterday around lunchtime and I was really nervous as to how they would be because there were only 3 of us (plus my baby) and I couldn’t afford to eat (had only gone to take MIL out for lunch) so I just had tap water for myself, but they didn’t even question it! Just said hello to my little one and the server was very friendly, said he had a little one around the same age. I would 100% recommend and when we get back on our feet after having the baby I will definitely come back and try your food - MIL and other half really enjoyed theirs x
