Review The West Coast Pie Company - Westport

$10-$12 pie Could not fault this pie, great thin flake pastry, and the chunks of venison steak are juicy and tender. Very good portion and great flavor. Great service and very clean tidy store,

EPIC... Wild Venison Steak Pie and a Wild Venison Steak, Bacon & Cheese Pie. Pineapple, Passion fruit and coconut cake + 2 large lattes $41; that's a great price in today's market. Pies: Pastry was thick, properly cooked and the base was browned - yum! Filling: The venison was fat and gristle free, and beautifully tender. The pie sauce was well balanced. A subtle taste of red wine on the buds - yum. Sauce was thick but not floury, it was well cooked. Coffee: a strong flavour of Havanna Beans to go with the gamey flavour of venison. Cake, sadly I ate that b4 I took a photo, but I've added one from the cabinet. Base was a little dry, but the passion fruit curd middle more than compensated and the coconut icing was moreish. Service: Spectacular, staff were well spoken and served with a smile and very proud of their product - and so they should be. We'll be back, thank you for the beautiful pies. From a very fussy customer ☺️😁

Absolutely delish pies! Definitely in a league of their own. We had the Wild Pork Pie along with the Wild Venison and Cheese Pie and Wild Pork Sausage roll....Top notch! Pasty was so light and flavoursome. The fillings were insane.

This was my first time here but I have brought their pies from another place. It was a great experience as they had a larger range of pies to choose from. The staff were both friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a different experience and are open to something different then this is the place to go. So if you are in Westport I recommend you try them and their wild animal pies and sandwiches. Thanks guys for a wonderful and delightful experience πŸ˜ŠπŸ™‚πŸ™‚

Road tripped the whole south island and these pues are #1. Crisp pasty that isnt too dry, Not chewy or gamey, not full of wierd jelly inside. $10 each but definitely worth thr slightly higher price

Super delicious pie. I had one with manuka honey and pork, wish I could take it back home overseas! Sweet pastries are also great. Highly recommended to stop even if you just drive through the Westport.

Hands down one of the best breakfasts we had in a while. The pie selection was quite unique and the vibe was great. Staff were super friendly, patient and happy to chat us through the options. Would def return

Hands down best pie shop probably in NZ, if you are a travelling Australian like I am you must stop here. Nothing at home even comes close to how good these pies are. Cheers again πŸ€™πŸ»

These pies were fantastic & the staff friendly & welcoming, even though it was nearly closing time on a Sunday afternoon. We had & loved their award-winning cumin-spiced Himalayan tahr pie. Flaky pastry, with loads of chunky, moist & tasty filling
