Babinka Restaurant & Bar - Whakatane - Photo album

It is a Sri Lankan resturant and bar but they serve European and Latin American food along with Indian and Sri Lankan spices and flavours. The food is really amazing and delicious and so is the service. It is good for family and small to big groups. Outdoor seating available as well. As the bar they
The food is really good and the flavors are profound. Very attractive menu and food, friendly staff and pleasant environment made the meal with my family a very pleasant one and will definitely stop by again soon.
Sri Lankan eatery at the end of the Strand which has a good selection of curries and other Sri Lankan & Indian dishes but also further afield, e.g. Jerk chicken, moroccan lamb & chicken parmesan salad. Hostess was polite & attentive. There are small tables outside under the tree, more tables in a co
Friendly and attentive staff. Would highly recommend one of the Sri Lankan curries. Phenomenal!
I enjoyed my kingfish steak. Friendly service.
Excellent service! Quick to receive our meal and our waitress was wonderful, getting the fan for us in this hot whakatane weather. Just ordered straight from the blackboard and the meal was priced very reasonable for the size and quality we received. Will definitely come again. Thank you Babinka!
I came here today with my parents, it was the first time for me they had been before. The waitress seated us straight away and was very attentive to us and very friendly. She ensured the food was catered to our needs and food was very yum. Would go back again.
It was good to dine in at this restaurant with overseas friends after a very bad experience at a nearby restaurant with. Customer service was good and attentive. Food was cooked to the standards. Prices were fair for the portion size. Recommended to all. Will definitely be back.
We have now been here for 3 of our 9 wedding anniversaries, (have also visited on other occasions)and each time has been yummy never let down, the best service ever yummiest food, no matter what we try it's always yum. Curries yum, Paris scallops my favourite, and crunchy cambert it's all just yum.
My wife and I are regulars there.Food is fantastic (Open Devil Sandwich and Chowder always). Staff are super friendly and always obliging. Nothing is a problem for them. If you are after a friendly welcoming place that has delicious food that's not flash but very comfortable then this is the place.
After a recommendation from a local from Ohope Beach, we checked this place out and were not dissapointed, fabulous food with amazing flavours and a very reasonable price. The Steak was cooked perfectly, the scallop and mushroom dish was amazing and my Sri Lankan Curry was fantastic. To top it off fan
Finished a beautiful brunch today. Our 3 yr old was handed his own menu which made him feel so special, we thought this was so cool! Meal well worth it plentiful plate.
Awesome experience. We started out just having a few drinks and ended having a Meal and Desert. I would absolutely recommend this place very freindly bar and restaurant staff and you must try the Bailey's Dessert.
Stopped in here over summer holiday because we were in a rush and they were quiet, always a bit sceptical of a quiet restaurant. All of the staff were accommodating and friendly, even the chef. Beautiful meals too, will stop in next time we visit sunny Whakatane.
Awesome food and great staff. We had a selection of dishes across our group and every one of them was done perfectly. The staff were attentive and friendly.
Wonderful little Jewel hidden away in a small town like Whakatane. The menu consists of a large variety of foods from various cultural backgrounds. Authentic Sri Lankan dishes are well-presented and are absolutely delicious. The staff are friendly and the ambiance is great with good spaciousness and
Great Sri Lankan fare in a trendy atmosphere that somehow manages to be kid friendly with a kids menu. They also serve NZ food (I think this might be their primary focus) but we didn’t try it. The two dishes we had really brought us back to Sri Lanka. Thanks!
