Review Double Zero - Whakatane

We visited Whakatane in July and we decided to try this Italian restaurant Double Zero. What a bless! I ordered a gnocchi with white sauce with salad and my kids got the kids dish. Mine was delicious and well prepared, with some slices of jamon. My boys loved their plate, which comes with ice cream as dessert. I had the tiramisu, wonderfully prepared by the chef. There are some seats outside by the sidewalk, great for sunny days. Will come back again soon. Thank you all!

The decor in this restaurant is beautiful, it has such a warm feeling to it and is beautiful. They have made this space into a very comfortable enjoyable experience. The service here was excellent, very well presented and well mannered. The food was absolutely delicious, everything was cooked to perfection and it felt like real slice of Italy. It's definitely a place to go and enjoy a delicious meal here in whakatane.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Willing to explain menu. All pasta is homemade and just delicious. Make sure you ask for a homemade lemonade .... it's amazing!!! $130.00 for the three adults - three mains, two deserts, and one glass of wine. Recommend you park out the back of the restaurant on busy days and walk through from the back of the restaurant. We will certainly be back again on our next trip down.

Beautiful night out. Could tell they used quality ingredients in our food and was delicious. Good service. And the kids got a real pizza for their meal. Nice atmosphere with gentle music in background. Would recommend!

The only thing I can fault this place for is that they are in Whakatane and they are not in Kirikiriroa. They are going to make me drive all the way from Hamilton to bring my Wife and treat her some of the best hand made pasta in New Zealand. Muito Obrigado! Venezuela.

We were visiting in Whakatāne last weekend and happened to find this place on the Main Street, in the town centre. It was last minute dinner plans for Friday night. We had our 2 kids under 2 with us, so the bar type bistro wasn’t really an option. The place felt very cozy and inviting and the staff were lovely and so accommodating. All the pasta is made fresh and you can tell! The food was absolutely delicious. It was comforting and tasty with so much flavour. We had the bruschetta to start. Yum! I had the truffle risotto with pork belly, meat eating partner had vegetarian gnocchi-and loved it, rich but so moreish. The 2yo had classic Bolognese and tbh I had food envy..the portions were generous and filling, even the kids size. I live in Auckland but next time I’m in the area I will definitely be returning. So good definitely recommend!

Pasta was to die for. Best I have ever had!!!! I understand the pasta is made on site which probably explains it. Service friendly yet professional.

Went for dinner place was packed, staff are very friendly and the service is excellent the food was also extremely delicious, it was so good we forgot to take photos of our main.

We had a beautiful dinner. Our waiter was belissimo. He had just arrived in Aotearoa 3 days prior and he gave us the full Italian experience, kind, helpful and friendly. We look forward to coming back when we are in Whakatane again.

Delicious food and great service. I am a return customer and highly recommend it. If you want cheap food and a cheap price go else where but this a great place for a tasty meal.
