Review The Citadel - Whanganui

Very happy to have randomly stop by this place on a rainy winter day. Very cute and cozy place with amazing food, and seems quite appreciated by locals. The staff was very nice!

Popped in for a random dinner . Like the feel and the vibe. Cool little place

We stopped in here for a coffee and a sweet with my family. The vibe was amazing and the service and hospitality from the staff were so nice we felt very welcomed with our toddler. The coffee was good and they were happy to use our byo baby chino cup and the sweets were amazing. We aren't local but my grandad is he said he will be bringing his next visitors here.

What an awesome relaxed cafe. Visited with 2 kids who have food allergies, and the staff were very helpful and able to work around this. Not relevant to us, but they have a separate kitchen for gluten free items. The staff were excellent, the food delish, and the location and outdoor seating was really nice. There's activities to keep the kids occupied and even some games to be played too. Got a takeaway coffee which was far too bitter for my liking but other than that a great experience all round.

Gorgoues wee eccentric vibe. Loved it. Went here again the other day and sat in their outdoor section and was very cute and had a great atmosphere. The fires were amazing. Cocktail range was limited but they were well priced and delicious. Great wee spot.

Great food, amazing atmosphere, attentive staff, 3 foot fall burger, great coffee. Bravo 👏 this place deserves a random cat pic (he lives round the corner)

I had a great time here on Saturday! Took my wife and kids out for a morning breakfast run. The all round atmosphere is great and the food tasted divine! Kids play area was well maintained as well as the out door dinning. 10/10 would recommend Attached are some of our photos.

Still sitting here writing this.... As word has to go out... Busy very busy night , but made room for us with no hassle. On our roadtrip, the best burgent (and hard to top this)... Nice bun, supper nice chicken and great vegitarian options!. Delicious local drinks (Lads IPA is smooth!) Very friendly staff, specialy knowing it's @ buzzing busy night. Out of curiosity looked at previous (low) reviews... Nothing I read there came as the truth... Maybe a bad night of a kitchen slip-up, but this night was (is) great. Full from the burger menu, but still looking at an desert too.... This place also does takeaways and looking at the glow of customers, all locals must think it's a great place. Well done Whanganui!

We had an awesome lunch here today! The service was very friendly and helpful. The food was DELICIOUS!! They had a good selection of Dairy Free choices and the Tofu Salad was Perfecto!!

Absolutely, yummy food. Beautiful place to sit and relax. The only thing which we didn't like was the counter lady who server us first but food, coffee and decor were good. Excellent, good job. Thanks.

AMAAAZING!!!! The food, the coffee, the atmosphere. So good! Never fails to disappoint!!!!! I had the tofu salad....it was spectacular!!! My friend had the pumpkin soup and garlic chibata. We shared and both were absolutely devine. The coconut láte was devine aswell. Keep up the great mahi Citadel Cafe.

Brilliant addition to Castlecliff. Food is delicious and service is probably the best I have ever had. Thoughtful things like hats for people sitting outside is wonderful.
