Review Kristy’s Cafe - Whanganui

I recently visited Kristy's Cafe and was a bit disappointed with my experience. The food was average and the prices were quite expensive for what you got. I had the kids hamburger with fries, which was okay but definitely could have been better for the price. Overall, I would give Kristy's Cafe a 3.5 out of 5 stars. While the atmosphere and service were nice, the food and prices didn't quite live up to my expectations. It's not a bad place to eat, but there are likely better options in the area for the same price or less. That being said, the cafe has some redeeming qualities such as friendly staff, so it's worth considering if you're in the area and looking for a quick bite to eat.

We went to breakfast on a Sunday morning and there was only one cook and one server which made the wait to eat, long. But we aren't complaining about that, just FYI kind of thing. The food was amazing and service was great. It was clean and very unique inside. Theres inside and outside seating, bathrooms available and decent parking spaces. Nice choices and plenty of options on the menu. We were happy we stopped by. They left a good impression on us.

August 2022. I must say after Christy’s sold her restaurant the quality hasn’t dropped. The new owners maintained the tradition of delicious pastries and the venison pie is no longer on the menu, but my new favorite is Mince with Mushrooms. Best venison pie in New Zealand. Christy is up for sale that’s a little bit sad. We were lucky to get this legendary pie

Was nearly closing time when we got there but still good choices in the cabinet. My wife had one of their great selection of pies 🥧 and said it was the best she's ever had. Coffee was great. Nice people. Good cafe.

Great pies!! Very nice pastry and filling. Coffee was excellent- hot and good flavour! Kids enjoyed. Perfect highway side stop- cozy ambience and nice outdoor seating.

We called in for breakfast/morning tea. Just a coffee and an Anzac bikky to share, but when the lady owner pointed out their small pies, similar to bridge pies, and what the 3 flavours were, we chose the mushroom, onion and mince ones. So delicious and tasty! We would highly recommend this cafe, clean toilets, interesting things to look at, and great service.

Open early at 7. Nice rustic set up. Good coffee and a nice breakfast

The food & drinks are delicious and their prices are good. Their pies are well known to be very yummy. The atmosphere is rustic & relaxed. The owners & staff are friendly & care about their customers.

Really great pies. Had beef and a small mince savoury topped. Coffee was great.

We decided to try somewhere new for a quick lunch. The pies were sooooo good. Great coffee too. Service was excellent and staff so friendly and helpful. We will be back

We asked "do you really have the best pies in Wanganui" they said yes. I think I should have asked "do you have the best pies in new Zealand/Australia" And I can answer that for you. Yes.

This place was excellent,a warm and inviting host, most excellent pie's & coffee, amazing decor like being in a museum, with intimate seating arrangements, and a out door venue..!
