Review Orange Cafe - Whanganui

Visited twice on our trip to Whanganui and loved it! Coffee was the best we have had in NZ, food divine but the best part was definitely the service! 100% worth the visit if you are in town!

A wonderful little place. The food was delightful and the decor was very unique - especially the flowers on the walls!

Food is beautiful and caters for all diets. Staff so kind and friendly. I was approached by the barista to enquire if I had any dietary issues so he could put something safe on the saucer with my coffee. No one has ever asked this before! Bless him!

We popped in here on way up to New Plymouth a couple of weeks ago now. . They had a cabinet food option at the front of the cafe and then you go through to a large room which looks like a bar running down the side...perhaps it was a hotel at one stage. Anyway the food was great, the atmosphere was really interesting.....lots of orange colour .... hence the name. One guy serving, the one with the beard, was just so friendly and warm, we felt really welcomed by him. Another server, bought my coffee, a woman, not even a smile. My wife noticed the beard guy being very helpful to a large group who came in and could not find a table, and he welcomed them in and sorted out some chairs and a seating arrangement for all of them. Just proves the old hospo saying you should not work in a cafe unless you like smiling and helping people. The guy with the beard was just so much more friendly than most people are. He must be the owner I thought. Then I though again he might not. Just might be one of those guys who likes helping people and creating a great atmosphere

Funky cafe and bar in downtown Whanganui. The decor is bright and vibrant. Drinks are (naturally) served in bright orange crockery. I relaxed in a comfy seat with a cheese scone (very salty) and hot chocolate and enjoyed the free wifi. Good service with friendly staff.

It was nice sitting outside. Service good. Coffee prices are high though. Gone are the days of reasonable prices.

Great cafe. Interesting selection, and tasty food. Five star coffee, and quirky vibe inside. Would happily return.

The food was devine! Had the lambshank with a great variety of veges. Service was great. Was just a bit chilly. Unfortunately the wind was blowing straight into the cafe.

The ceramic lounge is the bar portion of the big orange. A very friendly bar tender, panhead apa on tap, savory food options. Don't buy the 3.9 star average. This place is awesome!

Fantastic breakfast and coffee with friendly staff. Your rating should be higher than this. Will be back when passing through again.
