Review High-kut Bistro - Whanganui

Very accommodating for our arrival, superb service was friendly, unobtrusive and prompt. Food was excellent - scallops and chicken bites for entree, Eye Fillet, Lamb Rack, Port Belly and Pasta Vodka were all perfectly cooked, and very tasty. Wine list was high quality without being over-priced, and complimented the meal perfectly. Even the water was drinkable (tap water in Wanganui is awful). Highly recommend this restaurant.

We were in Wanganui for the weekend and had already dined where we were staying so for our second night we ventured across the road to a restaurant the locals didn't know too much about because it had only recently opened. Well let me tell the locals this - they should dine at High-Kut Bistro as soon as possible. Because the food is that good. Unfortunately our and many others romantic night was ruined by a table of trailer park trash celebrating a birthday party at the same time. I know they were trailer park trash because everytime a male from the group, either young or old, went the toilet, they had to tell everyone about it when they came back. And thats after all the belching and food throwing. I can only wish they weren't local and don't go to High-Kut Bistro often. Thanks team for a great meal, can't wait to come back and try more of the menu. Especially the toasted almonds bit.

Wonderful food. And great service too. Dishes was plated appetizing. Steak temperature was perfect and cook to profession. Highly recommend.

Really lovely food. Nice to have a few brunch options without egg. We accidentally left forgetting to pay the hill and they were really nice about it. Sorry about having to run after us!

Its a great spot for bunch after we went to the Saturday market . We ordered one Korean baobun and one Alfredo fettuccine, absolutely beautiful. Nice atmosphere

We went here a few weeks ago and I was very impressed. Delicious menu and nice wee atmosphere. The drinks range was not extensive but it was enough and the ones we ordered were delicious.

We saw. We came. We dined. We were delighted. Photos show the vodka pasta, paella, tartare and scallops. Enjoy. We did.

Amazing service, so happy and friendly. All food was hot and fresh. Perfect portion sizes and meat cooked perfect. Quick turn around between servings. Great ambiance, warm and homely feeling.

Food,really great Main. Usually stop at main. As treat decided on desert -Desert,Creme Brule classic desert- custard quite cold in center,not warmed enough, a little disappointing after such a lovely main,lamb. Appreciated the staff support,also managing the timing of group booking.

Cauliflower steak was V nice! Partner had the Honey scallops also worth great. Recommended for dining out. I had already eaten some of the cauliflower steak when I took the pic.

Best place in Whanganui for a decent meal hands down! Great atmosphere, amazing service, and the food.. just wow! Definitely my favourite place!!

Ordered the scallops and Korean Chicken for entres, and risotto and steak for mains. All were excellent and staff were friendly and helpful. Great evening with friends (who also enjoyed their meals).

Steak was perfect and the plate size was also perfect, amazing staff and service !
