Ordered $15 special meal, I had Chicken Tikka Masala and rice, very good portion. The chicken taste very tender, sauce contains rich flavor. Can’t wait to go back and try others on the menu! Highly recommend to you all~

Great food, friendly but lacks ambiance.

As per normal, food was excellent

Really delicious butter chicken here and if you pick up the takeout while still hot, the cheese garlic narn melts in your mouth. Really lovely staff, kind service. Support these guys, they do good :)

Such awesome staff, so amazing!!! I have been going to this Curry Hutt for over 10 years because the people are wonderful and they make THE BEST butter chicken I have EVER EVER had. Definitely is a must go!!!

Always get the chana masala with samosa. Highly recommend and will never change. This dish turned my friend vegetarian 😅

Had a pleasant dining experience here. Staff are friendly and attentive. On certain days main meals are at a reduced cost. Was not crowded when we went on a Wednesday. Would go again.

Great Currys at great prices, Monday to Wednesday @ $10! Always friendly and happy to spice things up if you like. My go to at least once a week!

3rd time ordering delivery where it is over 30 minutes late. Never any communication, apology or explanation. Had enough and won't be ordering again.

My experiences have been outstanding, been here a few times. $10 mains are great, food is amazing, service is good and nice friendly waiters.

Very relaxed atmosphere, but not flash. Clean, tidy and friendly environment. Food definitely has the uniqueness of freshly made Indian food as opposed to prepped food popped into the microwave for serving, as is common in many Indian restaurants. We enjoyed our meal and there was nothing bad about it. Reasonably priced at about $50 for 2 people, and this included a lassi. Highly recommend if you want a “home cooked” Indian meal without food coloring.

Thought we would give it a try. Pretty good food. Nice fresh and hot. Rung the order through he said 20 to 25 mins. Was already on time.....

Not impressed at all. Sat there for over 30 mins before we were asked If we would like something to drink. Drinks then took another half an hour to come out and food took over an hour. They were not busy, so not sure why everything took so long. Food was mediocre at best. We will not be returning.

Went here for dinner to try it out because it's local to me, I ordered butter chicken and garlic Naan over the phone and got told it would be 20-25mins, it ended up being a little over an hour and it came out cold as if it had been sitting on the bench all night. I got aggressive food poisoning a day later. MOST DISGUSTING PLACE I'VE EVER BEEN TO.

Amazing butter chicken! Best 10 meals ever!! Always tastes amazing and always hot when asked. Wife and I go here once every few weeks. Cheap cheap cheap

Came here with my friends, it was empty. As we went to the counter to get served, we got a very grumpy response and didn't feel welcome at all. We sat down and ordered. Food was OK, way too much garlic on the naan! As we split the check at the end, they calculated my order wrong the first time so I had to pay more?! Then only to realise when I left that I was actually over charged! Won't be back :(

Have been to this place twice and I have to say the curries are very very bland. Usually with Indian food you get strong tastes of herbs and spices this is literally tasteless . Iv tried twice can't say I will be back . Service good and friendly waiter so not all bad but food is poor .

This is our local indian restaurant, we started visiting it again after we found out it was under new management. In about April 2016, have been back several times now and really rate their food, service is OK and I agree about the TV in the restaraunt (from previous reviewer) being a distraction not really needed!

When we arrived we were sat at a table in the middle of the restaurant, in front of the TV. I think I would insist on a better table, if I come back, because the TV was distracting and the content inappropriate for a young family.

We ordered a vegetarian curry, two butter chickens, a bowl of chips and three Naan breads. For a total of $63.00. All the meals were OK and there was plenty of rice and water on the table.

We were the only people sitting in the Resturant, but the take always were doing a steady trade. I will probably opt for take always next time.

Went to this place last night. As I have tried most of the Indian restaurants, perhaps this place has got the original Indian flavours in their curries, one of the best Indian meals I had in Auckland, their garlic naan was Amazing, very soft and perfect in its taste. Manager and staff working their were quite friendly and helpful, looked after Us well. I am definitely recommending this place to everyone who wants to try authentic Indian food

The food was absolutely delicious!!! Really was very impressed with the food.

The ambience needs some work. It's a shame more people don't dine here more because that would give it a bit more atmosphere.

The waiter was obviously a ring in cousin or something because he was very average.

All in all you go for the food and it was absolutely fantastic! Also have used takeaways many times and it's always good as well

Went there for late lunch after being at the beach. Curry we ordered wasn't what we were given. Was rather bland and had no flavour, even after sending it back to the kitchen to make it more spicy. It was just precooked food shoved in the microwave and then given to us. Was not cooked fresh as or should be. Will not be returning here for food again. Even BK or McDonald's would have tasted better

Hi Guys...Let me tell you all that this Restaurant is now under new management, and its awesome. Everything is so perfect, the food, ambience- interior is good. People here are so welcoming, nice and polite. We ordered Butter Chicken, Naan, platter & Dal makhani..everything was soo yummy. It has been credit A certificate, therefore its very clean as well. The food quality was also good, moreover the quantity is perfect to fill you up. Would highly recommend this to all Indian food lovers...Worth a try...and i bet you will be a fan of this place.

My husband and daughter went this evening (Sunday) and ordered butter chicken and vege korma and naan bread (small order). Were told it would be 20 mins, no worries with that. After some 35 mins my husband asked for a refund and was told it was just coming. Fifteen mins later it arrived. What, did they have to go to Delhi to get it?? Sorry guys, you lost a customer. Bad mistake. People always say to buy local, well we will - in Orewa!

Went here just tonight and it was delicious! My boyfriend and I both decided it was the best indian meal we have had. He had the lamb rogan josh and I had the butter chicken, plus a naan each. I would definitely recommend, nom nom!!

We have tried this restaurant on 6th of jan and the food was really nice and friendly and awsm. We have tried Samosas and Biryanis and both have really really nice taste. The Real Taste of India. Even the service was also good. The manager Ashish Patel is really friendly and good natured.

Great Indian food!! We have been to about 4 other places and this is the best!
Its been consistently good with the Malai Kofta dish and naan breads and the mains come with rice.
Good value for money.

Tried for first time tonight. Naan was delicious and butter chicken was perfect. By far the best Indian restaurant on the coast perhaps even in New Zealand.

Highly recommended. We will making the Curry Hut our new local

Very tasty food and plenty of meat in the portions. The garlic cheese naan was really yummy too. One of the better Indian restaurants in Auckland. Friendly service too and very clean.
Would totally recommend it.

The new owners rock! This is the best Curry house in Auckland. Can't believe that it's in Red Beach of all places. Yummiest and most tender Lamb Sarg I have ever had. Been 3 times now and always perfect :)

We have been there twice in the last week ! The first meal was for a family of four and every dish was superb. The next was for a special cheap price take away and again it was superb. New owners, new chef and fantastic meals, go and check it out for yourself !

After deciding never to return to The Curry Leaf, heard new management so returned once more...excellent, superb, loved it, we had 2 different curries and the meat was so tender, will be back again and again... The Curry Hutt ROCKS

We have been to the Curry Leaf a couple of times and haven't been too impressed with the food. However, now that it is under new management (and now called Curry Hutt) we have had 3 amazing meals from here over the past 3 weeks. I definitely give Curry Hutt 5 stars!
We would always travel to Rothesay Bay (from Silverdale) as we couldn't find a good Indian in Rodney, but that has now all changed thanks to Curry Hutt!

We tried the $10 special after reading the reviews and hoping to prove that the others who had given 1 star were dead wrong. I am a coeliac and need to be sure that the meal was 100% gluten free, ie; no contamination. The waiters did not give me a lot of confidence so I spoke to the chef. He was a friendly chap who showed me that the gluten containing food was prepared in a separate part of the kitchen and showed a great knowledge of my needs.
Every dish was very tasty, hot and of generous proportions. The waiting staff were polite and very friendly. Although the premises were not lavishly decorated (hey it's only ten bucks a head remember) it was clean and well furnished. The music was tasteful and our dining experience pretty darn good.
Should have given it 5 stars but at that price it is not aimed at snobs
Perhaps this restaurant has taken note of all the complaints in previous reviews or perhaps some people are just difficult to satisfy. Either way, we had a great Indian meal tonight and I would be going back again soon if I lived here.
It was a Monday night so only 4 tables were in use, however the takeaway service was running hot so I would assume there is a large happy clientele.
I actually live in Sydney but this site does not domicile reviews from outside of NZ.

All these 1-2 star rating customers have to be exaggerating quite a lot... not to mention being extremely dramatic!! I have been getting curries from this shop for quite some time now as I'm local and every meal has been to the highest quality. I would recommend it to all curry lovers!! I rate this establishment 5-5 as it deserves so much more than a 2 star rating.. how pathetic of people.. they wouldn't know good food if it was shoved in their mouths.

My wife and I discussed eating at this establishment after reading the reviews on this website and thought that despite the past few poor reviews we would take a chance and make up our own mind. When we went in no customers at all where present on a Sunday night...not a good sign. Never the less we ordered our food to take away. When we got home we opened our meals and after a couple bites my wife found a piece of stainless steel cleaning pad in her food. I felt terrible...she had hesitation about eating there after reading the reviews on this page already and this happened. I really don't know what to say to future patrons other than vote with your wallet and stay away. Maybe the next place that moves in will be better. We have only a few good establishments out here and don't need ones of this type. I feel terrible to write a review like this but I feel that it is important to share the truth with my neighbours and community. So happy no one ended up in the hospital....yet!

We ate there last night and it was the worst Indian meal we have had in a long time, the food was watered down, and it was so obvious as it could be seen and tasted. We have been eating there regularly and really liked the food but think that management has recently changed, and we certainly wont be going back, we will find somewhere else for our weekly curry.

Totally disgusted food was luke warm and took forever and then my family and myself became violently ill 2 days later and was tested by the doctor and found that we had contacted campylobacter from this restaurant we will never eat here ever again we have since reported this place and taken in samples. Hope no one ever has this experience we had.

Gave this place another try last night, ordered curries for the guys at home as I was down that way visiting. Told 10 mins wait, waited for 30mins to take away. They forgot to give us the extra rice we ordered, but luckily I saw that and asked for it when the meals were ready. Got home (25min drive away) and found out the curries were wrong, well one of them was. Most watery butter chicken ever, was pretty crappy all round really. Rang and complained and they offered us a free curry next time, but we won't be back... probably the worst indian food I've ever had.
